Michigan pests, I need some advice

I'm going to be in Detroit (well, Novi actually) on business next week, and I was wondering if anybody can recommend some good restaurants or bars in the area. I won't have a rental car, so it would have to be somewhere nearby the Twelve Oaks Mall.

12 Oaks is in Novi, a good 45 minutes outside of detroit.
it has your standard suburban fare in terms of food and bars. the fountain walk mall has a bw3, some japanese themed bar, hooters, and Luckys- which kinda a dave and busters style adult arcade...
that mall is maybe a quarter mile from 12 oaks.
5th Avenue is a nice place as well, and the post bar and gus o' conners are right there as well.... thats about a mile from the mall

if you're looking for a li8ttle less trendy. the library pub is pretty close as well...

2 things to consider... with wings and pistons playoff games going on, all are gonna be busy... and novi cops swarm that area for drunk drivers
