Yeah, I wonder how it will turn out? If they think the fact that the title is held up or that the submission is illegal will make people think that Edge has a shot in hell, then they are, um, idiots.

I just want them to get through the main event dreck we have right now and start working in some fresh faces into the mix. Hopefully, they are doing that with Punk and Kennedy

Even without reading the spoilers, as soon as I saw the opening segment last night, I knew what was going to happen. During today's WWE shareholders meeting, Vince McMahon was asked if Umaga was in line for a "big push." McMahon replied, "In all likelihood, Umaga will switch brands shortly, and do as well as he possibly can." This is a good idea in my opinion. I feel like Umaga is getting stale on Raw, and he's too good of a talent to waste on squash matches and old feuds. Moving him to Smackdown would give him fresh programs to work with guys like Finlay, MVP, Hardy, and eventually Mysterio when he returns. I'd like to see Umaga work some title matches with Undertaker or Edge also. Those could be great matches.

Judgment Day will be only six days away when Raw returns from north of the border this Monday night, and the Raw Superstars will have one last chance to gain momentum inside Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena.

One individual making his way to the Motor City for Raw is John Cena. Following last week's announcement that the Chain Gang Soldier will clash with JBL at Judgment Day, Cena may be on hand to mix some pre-match words (or fists) with the self-proclaimed "wrestling god."

Since tapping to Cena in the WWE Championship Fatal Four Way Match at Backlash, JBL has taken out his aggression on the likes of Highlander Robbie and DH Smith. Will Cena's return to Raw this week be enough to keep the Longhorn Loudmouth from seeking another victim? Or might JBL want to make Cena that victim, mere days before Judgment Day?

Detroit may be Hockeytown, U.S.A., but this Monday, it could become Blackoutville. For two consecutive weeks, General Manager William Regal has pulled the plug; first, he took Raw off the air two weeks ago in the middle of a Triple H vs. Randy Orton WWE Title Match, and last week, he turned the lights out as Orton battled CM Punk in Toronto.

Regal has shown that he has no qualms about taking Raw off the air if he is disrespected, and WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon (statement). Will our fans in Detroit make it through the full two hours uninterrupted? If they don’t, will those in attendance at “The Joe” shower Regal with the signature squid usually reserved for celebrating a Red Wings hat trick?

Orton and Regal’s number one enemies, WWE Champion Triple H and Mr. Kennedy respectively, did make it through their match last week. Unfortunately, they lost, as Kennedy & The Game had to do battle against the entire ECW roster. To make matters worse for Triple H, he survived a wild post-match melee only to be flattened by an RKO from his Judgment Day opponent. On the way to their Steel Cage showdown, who will get the last laugh? And will Regal throw anything more at Kennedy in response to his besmirching several weeks ago?

Also last week in a WWE Mobile on AT&T exclusive video, a massive match was made for Judgment Day: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels. The battle between Y2J and HBK has been heating up ever since Michaels’ win over Batista at Backlash. Jericho has accused the Showstopper of faking an injury to win that match; whether he is or he isn’t, HBK’s injury didn’t stop him from teaming with Y2J to defeat WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison last Monday night. With less than a week left before their pay-per-view battle, how will Jericho and Michaels finish their preparations?

Instead of having Taker-Edge PPV Match #345678, wouldn't it make more sense to have Punk come out and demand his title shot. Since there is no champ the match is forfeited and Punk becomes champ. Would be a great time to start pushing him up to the next level w/o any one laying down for him, and you could either build him up as the babyface fighting all odds as Vicki tries to get the belt back on Edge or set him up as a major heel doing whatever it takes to hold on to the strap...i don't know just a thought

WWE developmental wrestlers Ted DiBiase, Jr. and Nic "The Natural" Nemeth are on the road with WWE again this week. The two worked house shows over the weekend; Nemeth for Raw and DiBiase for SmackDown/ECW.

Randy Orton did not work the house show last night which is interesting to note considering he requested time off.

Former WWE star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in a new television commercial for Sierra Mist. It aired during Saturday Night Live over the weekend. The commercial was promoting his upcoming movie Get Smart (scheduled to be released on June 20, 2008), and he's walking down the hallway with two women all over him. The commercial ends on a funny note when Rock walks into a wall while it's revealed that the two women are really men agents undercover.

John Cena will return to WWE television on tonight's edition of Raw from Detroit, Michigan to build towards his match against John "Bradshaw" Layfield at Judgment Day this Sunday. Cena has been working a limited schedule is WWE because of the filming of the latest WWE Films project, 12 Rounds.

Joe/Nash Future Plans, Russo's Creative Idea, Jarrett Update

TNA plans on doing a Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash world title program later in the year. However, it won't happen right away as it's going to get a slow build. Also, Vince Russo wrote an interesting little one-liner for a recent Joe/Nash training segment that didn't make the air due to an apparent sound problem. Nash said to Joe, "Hey Joe, show me how you get out of that sleeper."

Jeff Jarrett, who recently turned 41, is not retired and still looking to return to the ring. He's simply waiting for the right time to return. However, Jarrett only wants to return if he can make a major impact and be in a title program. Unlike WWE, TNA has long-term plans on major storylines as they often plant seeds for future feuds while current ones are ongoing. For much of the latter half of 2007, TNA knew they were building towards a Samoa Joe title win over Kurt Angle, and there was no point in Jeff Jarrett getting involved in a title feud until Joe vs. Angle came to a conclusion. Jarrett last appeared in a TNA ring one year ago tomorrow when he lost to Robert Roode at last year's Sacrifice pay-per-view.

Petey Williams, who fractured his orbital bone during a match that aired on last week's Impact, will not be stripped of his X Division title. The injuries were not significant enough to put him out action for a long time. Although, it is not known yet as to when he'll be cleared to wrestled again, but it shouldn't be too long.

Internet reports stating that WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman had signed a contract to join ESPN appear to be unfounded. Dave NagleDave Shit?, a representative of ESPN, issued the following statement to SLAM! Sports to put an end to the rumors: "all I can say is that these 'rumors' are untrue...we do not have a signed deal. There is nothing more to say." Rumors regarding Coachman's departure began soon after Mick Foley replaced Coachman as the SmackDown color commentator at the Backlash pay-per-view two weeks ago. Internet reports started circulating and they said that Coachman had signed a contract with ESPN for an anchor position. PWInsider actually said they had confirmed the story which sparked the rumors and that obviously turned out to be false.

Also, Jim Ross posted a new blog on his website today and he's saying that Jonathan Coachman has not signed with ESPN, contrary to several online reports. Ross wrote: "Jonathan Coachman has not signed a contract with ESPN contrary to what may have been reported elsewhere. As I write this, Coach is still employed by the WWE and is still doing projects for the MSG Network. Will Coach eventually migrate to ESPN? Who knows, he would be a great fit there, but as of today he has not made any commitment to do so."

Mysterio Involved In China Earthquake, Where's Josh Mathews?

WWE.com has an article up noting that during Rey Mysterio's current media tour of China, a 7.8 earthquake devastated the nation’s southwestern Sichuan province today killing more than 8,500 people. Mysterio was at a media event in Xian, China when the earthquake hit. He was unharmed, evacuated and brought back to his hotel where he was put on the first floor for safety reasons. Mysterio currently can't leave the country as all flights have been grounded and it is likely the media tour will be cut short.

He won his first two matches in the King of the Ring tournament beating Hardy and Jericho. He avenged his earlier loss to Jericho and then Hardy avenged his in the tournament. They are the Intercontinental and US champions, they can't just go willynilly and job.

HHH In Line For Major Movie Role?, RAW/U.S Open Conflict No-More

Triple H is said to be in the running for the lead role in Marvel's upcoming movie Thor, which is scheduled to be released in late spring 2010. The other lead candidate for the role is Kevin McKidd of HBO's Rome series.

Rey Mysterio is currently on a media tour in China, and it just so happens that a magnitude 7.9 earthquake hit the country during one of his appearances on Monday afternoon. The earthquake has accumulated a death toll of more than 8,600. Mysterio was forced to evacuate a TV station in Xian when the earthquake struck. He headed back to his hotel for safety. His wife Angie is on tour with him too.

WWE Monday Night Raw will no longer be bumped for the U.S. Open on the USA Network as ESPN signed a six-year deal to gain the rights for the U.S. Open today. This will go into effect in 2009, so USA will still have it in September and it is doubtful they will bump Raw for it. USA has had the rights to the U.S. Open since 1985.

The WrestleMania XXIV DVD is due out on 5/20.

Mick Foley has been added as a guest referee to some matches taking place during WWE's tour of Mexico that kicks off on Wednesday, May 21. He will be refereeing a match between Triple H, Cena, Umaga & JBL on 5/22, and a match between Triple H & Umaga on 5/23. Both matches are for the title. Foley was sent on tour as star replacement for Randy Orton, who got pulled off. Orton recently asked for some time off from house shows and WWE pulled him from the upcoming tour of Mexico.

It was announced on WWE.com last night that the Women's Championship will be defended by Mickie James in a Triple Threat Match. Mickie's opponents will be Beth Phoenix and Melina.

Jeff Hardy News: Update On His Attitude & Future In WWE

Following his Wellness policy violation, 60 day suspension and his North Carolina home burning down, Jeff Hardy is said to be in better spirits, motivated, and in good physical shape.

Jeff is now back with WWE full time and will be traveling with the company effective immediately.

Sources close to Hardy say the fire served as a wake up call and made him realise what he has with World Wrestling Entertainment and ultimately has made him more appreciative of his career. A friend close to Hardy also suggested he realized his recent mistakes were of his own doing and that he has shown maturity in realizing that.

Friends of Jeff confirm that he is planning to build a new house on the same property and has been looking at blue prints.

It's interesting to note that even though this was the second time Hardy violated WWE's Wellness Policy, he did not spend any time in a rehab facility.

I really hate what they are doing with CM Punk. He wins the MITB Match, has a contract for a Championship match anytime he wants. They set the stage, pointing out how important the MITB contract is b/c everybody who has won it before has gone on to become champion.

So, technically (if not in actuality), CM Punk is the #1 contender for whatever championship he wants.

So why can't he seemingly buy a win??

He came out on Raw the night after WM24 and lost to Jericho.

He lost to Edge the Smackdown before Backlash (with help, and of course we don't expect Edge to lose going into Backlash).

He got beat down and won via DQ against Chuck Palumbo.

He tapped out to William Regal in the KOTR tournament. (When they easily could have had Regal cheat by clocking him with brass knucks...solidifying Regal as a heel and protecting Punk.)

He lost to Matt Hardy in the tournament.

I ask: How is this building Punk up? Ever since he won MITB, he's done more jobs than he has done all year. They're not building him up...they're holding him down.

Has he had one important win since WM24?

Add The Miz to that list. With The Miz getting out of the GTS and hitting Punk with the Reality Check.

Some may have confidence in WWE Creative when it comes to Punk. I don't.

Smackdown spoilers for this week:

ECW was taped next and seemed like a so-so show. Crowd really did not get into much

For Smackdown:

Show opened with La Familia coming to the ring and discussing that Edge experienced a "medical miracle" last week when he was able to win the Championship Chase and nothing would stop him from winning the title at Judgment Day.

Teddy Long was out next and told Vickie that he was at Titan Towers all day in Stamford after she yelled at him for being late and not returning her calls. He went on to read a statement from the WWE Board of Directors that said Vickie would either need to wrestle in her 1st ever match tonight and be out as GM of Smackdown.

Vickie did more yelling and went on to fire Long for going behind her back. He told her she could not do that and quit. On the way back to the locker room, he told her that The Undertaker would be her opponent tonight.

1. CM Punk over Chuck Palumbo after GTS. Punk was one of the most over wrestlers at the show. Decent little match and surprised to see it end decisively after the GTS.

Vickie, Edge and Chavo tried to cope with what was before them, when MVP, Finlay and Big Show all expressed their gripes with being "used" in the Championship Chase and then making fun of her having to face Undertaker. She said she was still GM tonight and that Show and Finlay would team to face MVP and a partner of his choice.

2. Michelle McCool over Layla when Layla tapped out to an ankle/leg submission. Not bad, not great. McCool did some neat, while sloppy leg work.

3. Big Show and Finlay over MVP and Mark Henry when MVP was pinned by Show following a chokeslam. Good tag match with Finlay being worked over for the body of the match leading to the Show hot tag. Show dominated, but was caught with an Avalanche-type move from Henry that halted him momentarily. Finlay dispatched Henry and MVP charged Show in the corner, while he sold the effects of the Avalanche and was caught by the throat, chokeslammed and pinned.

Chavo told Vickie and Edge that there was a way they could make the match they were in tonight work and smiled.

4. Vladimir Kozlov over Funaki

Vickie informed the audience that the main event would now be a 6-on-1 Handicap Match with herself, Edge, Chavo, Bam Neely, Ryder and Hawkins facing The Undertaker.

5. Cherry over Maryse w/ Deuce & Domino

Kofi Kingston and Matt Hardy talked in back. Shelton Benjamin came in and set up a match between he and Hardy, with the idea that he was after the U.S. Title. Hardy made of the only gold Shelton having was his hair!

6. Matt Hardy over Shelton Benjamin after the Twist of Fate. Decent here, with Shelton looking real competitive, but Hardy hitting the Twist of Fate almost out of nowhere for the win.

7. The Undertaker fought Vickie Guerrero, Edge, Zach Ryder and Curt Hawkins to a No Decision.

La Familia all came out together, but as everyone walked (and Vickie was wheeled) to the ring, Chavo and Neely stopped short and returned to the back, making it a 4-on-1.

Vickie was in the ring in her wheelchair with Edge and the Edgeheads as her human shield. Taker went right at them and was occupied for the most part by Ryder and Hawkins. Each time he looked to have the advantage, Edge would make it 3-on-1 and neutralize him again.

Finally, Undertaker reversed the momentum of the Edgeheads on an irish whip attempt and sent them outside the ring. He then gave a big boot to Edge and he was out. He turned his attention to Vickie and went to deliver a chokeslam. As he hoisted and held her by the throat, he turned and was met with an Edge spear. Vickie was saved and everyone retreated up the ramp. The referee jumped out of the ring and Taker did the throat slash to seemingly end the taping.

Taker then got down with his back to his foes and they returned to get an advantage again, with Vickie at the top of the ramp. Kane's music hit and he wheeled her to the ring. He and Taker took out their foes and Taker was eventually able to Tombstone Vickie to a huge response.

Taker left the ring while Vickie sold and Teddy Long came out and tried to get Kane to dance. He was successful and then Mick Foley and Michael Cole joined the mix while the fans ate it up and went home happy.

The advertised main event was Undertaker and Kane v. Edge and Chavo - but I can see why they did not run that. Not one person on the way out of the arena seemed slighted.

First off, Why is Kane ECW champion?? Who ever booked Kane to win the ECW title at Wrestlemaina 24 does not know he's shit about wrestling. I would like to see for once Kane as the world heavyweight champion beside The Undertaker or Edge.

Second, what should WWE do with the ECW title for once??? Kane drops or for fit the ECW title to Snitsky or Tommy Dreamer on ECW??

Third, What is WWE doing with the tag team division and the tag team titles both on RAW & Smackdown for once? I don't mind if both of RAW & Smackdown tag team titles were on the line in a TLC match. The match have the current tag team champs Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly on Raw and John Morrison and Miz on Smackdown defeat the title against Cryme Time, Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, Jamie Noble & Festus, Kofi Kingston & DH Smith, Shelton Benjamin & Charles Hass, Deuce & Domino, Santino Marella & Carlito, Kendrick & London, Cade & Murdoch.

Fourth, WWE should vacant the IC title for once. Raw has an IC title tournament and who wins the IC title becomes the official IC champion.

Fifth, The Money in the Bank. Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk should be stripped from it for once or defeat his money in the bank against Chris Jericho who was the last person who almost won it at Wresltemaina on Raw or the next WWE pay per view.

Sixth, Want some new blood to be pushed for the WWE championship & The
World Heavyweight Title. I like Triple H as WWE champ, but come on why has not Jericho, HBK, Jeff Hardy or JBL get the WWE title, for once?. why the Big Show, Batista, Finaly or Kane should get a shoot for the World heavyweight Title??


The Last Thing, I think William Regal should be in charge both RAW & Smackdown. Why William Regal can have the power to do anything he wants to the superstars of Raw & Smackdown, plus intergrade Raw & Smackdown superstars on both shows for once.

last week's Smackdown: I laughed when Foley asked himself, "Did I just steal a line from Mike Adamle? What's wrong with me?!?" Love that Natalya used the Sharpshooter to win. Sucks that Punk lost to Hardy, but it was a good match. Vicky Guerrero is getting uglier by the show...stupid fat-faced crooked-toothed bitch. I was pretty shocked at the amount of offense that Morrison got in against Batista...no shock he lost, but I was impressed. Bam Neeley, Chavo's bodyguard...I love that he's "a former border patrol agent" and he's working for a Mexican :haha7: I like Kozlov's entrance...all lights out, no music. Having Edge come out and win the battle royal...lame. This is now what...3 or 4 PPVs in a row where it's been Edge-Undertaker? C'mon. Change things up...I'd have rather seen 'Taker vs. Show


Raw: Regal as the King is the best thing ever. Mickie looked phenominal, as per usual too. Hahah...I love that Cena still acknowledges the fact that he gets booed everywhere. "This is 'WCW Thunder' bad" followed by his, "You'd know something about that..." got me to laugh. I'm amazed that they actually had the Tag Titles get defended...first time in 4+ months that Rhodes & Holly actually defended the belts...too bad they held onto them. Sean "X-Pac "Waltman's three month stay in a treatment facility in Houston has come to an end as he checked out of it earlier today, reports prowrestling.NET. In a phone conversation last night, Waltman said he was in a "great place mentally" and feels "it's time to take the next step." Waltman was supposed to get out of the facility last month, but decided to stay a few more weeks to get additional care. Waltman will continue to take part in an outpatient program with World Wrestling Entertainment covering all of the expenses. Waltman stated in the phone conversation last night that he has spoken with Triple H about landing a behind the scenes role with WWE. Waltman also thanked WWE and Vince McMahon for their help, as well as TNA wrestler Kevin Nash, who went out of his way to pick up Waltman up from his residence in Mexico and escort him to the treatment facility. Waltman's first advertised wrestling appearance is on June 7 for an NWA event, and he is currently accepting additional wrestling bookings.

Hulk Hogan was advertised for last night's Tonight Show with Jay Leno, but never made an appearance during the program.

Bobby Lashley recently responded to rumors that Booker T and Kurt Angle are pushing him to TNA wrestling. He responded by saying that "Whether I'm going to go over there or not, I'm not sure. I am open for dialogue if we can work some things out, I can possibly go over there and do it, maybe TNA, but definitely fighting [in MMA]..."

Speaking of Lashley, he and girlfriend Kristal Marshall are expecting a child shortly. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that the pregnancy may be the reason why Lashley isn't making any long terms commitments right now.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter also noted that Sabu needs back surgery and was advised not to take any more bumps until he has the surgery. The surgery could keep him out of action for a year.

Backstage, it's going around that a match between Jeff Hardy and MVP could be added to tonight's Judgment Day pay-per-view. At least at one point, the match was listed on the line-up backstage.

There appears to be some confusion regarding a Big Show vs. Mark Henry match taking place tonight at Judgment Day. WWE.com does not have the match listed in the Judgment section, however, the match was mentioned in the SmackDown report, but later pulled. The POWER 25 section on WWE.com notes that a match is taking place between the two behemoths, although, they may have forgotten to change it. The caption for Big Show in the latest POWER 25 reads: "After proving to be so dominant against the top competitors for the World Heavyweight Championship last week, Big Show picked up a big tag team win over MVP & his Judgment Day opponent, Mark Henry."

A number of the finishes and angles for tonight's Judgment Day pay-per-view were up in the air as late as today. Vince McMahon read through the script of the show on Friday, but wouldn't finalize some of the match finishes. Some of the finishes for tonight's show weren't fully decided until today.
