I did my time working at Cedar Point from 94-99, in the food services department. I have heard through the grapevine, that there hardly any college kids working there anymore. Is Louies' still open?

haha, yea Louies is still up and running. They used to do 25 cent hot dogs and dollar drafts on Tuesdays, I hope they still do that..I havnt been there yet though this year, I came early for cleanup week and im kind of short on cash.
There still are a good amount of college kids, they are very short staffed though, alot of people didnt return because the bonus is .35 until halloweekends then its 1.00. Last year the bonus was .50
I want to go to cedar point so very much.
What/where is Cedar Point?
It's the Roller Coaster Mecca in Ohio.

Yeah I remember those days. Coming up early, short on cash, and waiting for the real hours to kick in. I even did the live in Sandusky all year long thing for a couple of years. Seems like the only thing that has changed, is the bonus. That's pretty fucked up that they changed it like that.

Is it true that these sort of places are pretty much just drinking and fucking every night once everyone is done work? I couldn't picture Sandusky having much to offer besides that.

Magic Mountain > Cedar Point
Actually I haven't been to either. I just think Magic Mountain looks cooler. PSH PSH SIX FLAGS
I do wanna go to both. Roller coasters rule.

Pretty much. The only things to do on your day off were, recover from a hangover, go to the mall, see a movie, play video games, and then go drinking again. As for getting laid, well lets put it like this. Its so easy, Black Earl could get laid. As for which park is better to visit, I would say Cedar Point is definitely better than a Six Flags park.

Cedar Point is way more gooder than six flags. It is just an amazing park. Fun to work too, I love it here. Thinking about moving here and going year round..

I'm actually going on June 27-28. Visiting friends out there and hanging out for a long weekend. My second time out to CP. Best amusement park I've ever been to and probably will go to.

Cedar Point fucking rules. I usually go 2 or 3 times during the summer, and I'm sure I will this year too. The coasters there are amazing, and I'm an especially big fan of the Mean Streak for some reason.

If you're going to do the year round thing, a couple of suggestions:
Since you're in Park Operations, try to get a job with the overnight crew that cleans the offices. This way you can stay in Bayside and still pay the rent that you would normally pay over the summer.
If you can't get employment with the park, start looking for a job in town during bonus weekends. This way you can be situated with a job for the holidays.
Don't expect much of a night life during the week in town. Which leads me to my final point:
If you do it, only do it for one year. By the second year, you can become a full blown alcoholic due to the boredom. I almost did.
Note I make these suggestions going by how I remember it from years that I did the year round thing. I'm not sure how much has changed.

Sandusky is alittle different now. There is ALOT more to do here, they are making it a tourist attraction. WIth Castaway Bay (the indoor waterpark Cedar Fair owns) and Kalahari (a different indoor park on 250), the mall is all renovated, there is a dicks sporting goods and Target in the plaza Tops used to be, and the Thirsty Pony is adding some water slides too now. Bayside is where Castaway Bay people stay, as well as some year rounders who still stay on point.
I have quite a few CP friends who moved here, one bought a house with a girl and a few others just got apartments and winter jobs. I am sure I will be able to keep myself entertained. But I will keep the overnight thing in mind when it comes time for that.

Having friends there during the winter is a big plus. So Bayside is just for tourists now. That sucks. When I worked there, Bayside was the placed you wanted to live in.

No, Bayside is still for employees. Its just hard to get into it because that is where the year round employees live (like the people who work Castaway)

I've been wanting to go for a while. My sister lives in IN. and on my way back home, I planned on hitting it but it looked like heavy rain/lightning, so I said fuck it.
I know, I'm a pussy. What's a little lightning when your over three hundred feet in the air? :action-sm
Actually, I just didn't want to spend the money and have them close the rides down.

Yeah, I swear if the wind picks up to more than 5 MPH, Top Thrill Dragster gets closed. And you can see it swaying.
You couldn't pay me to ride that.
Well, and I get really bad vertigo when I get on the rides anymore. Now I just people watch and get hammered at the Red Garter.

Top Thrill Dragster has been running really good. Last year it didnt have nearly as much down time, and not as many roll backs. Maverick is amazing. Doesnt look that good because its only like 105 feet tall, it does have a 95 degree angle drop and the twists and turns are pretty sweet.
