I have a full set of Le Creuset cast iron minus a few of the specialty pieces and just picked up their cookbook from one of their stores. I was wondering if anyone else had a set and what their favorite stuff to cook was and what pieces they use the most. I never used the Dutch oven that I have until tonight and was just wondering.
I know that this might be one of the gayest thread starts in Wackbag history so whatever.

My family has the dutch oven from them. It is awesome! You can fit so much in there and it's just awesome. We're a big irish family so we actually make our mashed potatoes in them. But we've also made a great pot roast with french onion soup and vidalia onions. Magnifique!

One of the most versitile pieces of gear you can have - you can make all kinds of soups/stews and braises, jumbalaya/paella, ragu, cassoulet, use it as a deep fryer and I'm sure a shitload of other tasks. One of which I just discovered is that it is the perfect vessel for artisinal quality home baked bread. A blaxing hot dutch oven traps in the steam released from the dough which helps the developement of the crust. Professional bread bakers have steam injected ovens for this and it's been very hard to replicate in home stoves. I'll post the recipe and article in it's own thread.

We only have a La Creset dutch oven but we use it for all kinds of stuff....chili, soup, roasts, stews, etc. Works great as you can get it started on the stove top and then put it right in the oven.

Love it for lasagne and baked ziti. Roast chicken, not so much (the potatoes don't seem to cook very well.)
My wife got me the oval dutch oven last year, and it's incredible for chili, stew, etc.

For those on Long Island, there is the Le Creuset outlet store at Tanger in Riverhead. Excellent place.

Pretty much what everyone else said. I use the dutch oven several times a week. Probably my most versatile piece of cookware.
