Hulk Hogan Challenges Celebrities to Wrestle.

May 5, 2008 - Hulk Hogan's apparently aiming to have reality series on every channel possible. The former WWE champ already has has been featured on VH1's Hogan Knows Best and NBC's American Gladiators, but now he's also coming to CMT.

Hogan's latest project is called Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling. The Hollywood Reporter says the CMT reality series will consist of 10 celebrities competing for the title of "Celebrity All-Star Wrestling Champion" via a series of challenges and elimination matches. Two as yet to be named former pro wrestlers will work as trainers and Hogan and former WCW president Eric Bischoff acting as judges, alongside an as yet to be determined third judge.

Hogan is executive producing the series with Bischoff and Jason Hervey – yes, Wayne from The Wonder Years.. Hervey produced several WCW videos for Bischoff in the 90s.

Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling premieres this fall on CMT.

The cast of Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling has been announced in the Hollywood Reporter, and it's just as star-studded as you might imagine. Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Cameron Diaz… Oh wait, wrong list, sorry.

The people actually participating in the new wrestling-reality show are: Danny Bonaduce (The Partridge Family), former NBA star Dennis Rodman (who had a stint with his buddy Hogan in WCW), Dustin Diamond (Saved by the Bell), Todd Bridges (Diff'rent Strokes), boxer/MMA fighter ButterBean, reality TV queen Trishelle Cannatella, Erin Murphy (Bewitched), musical genius Frank Stallone, 80s pop star Tiffany and playmate Nikki Ziering. That sounds about right for this kind of show, no?

While several of the contestants, including Bonaduce, Bridges and Diamond, are reality TV veterans, Cannatella seems intent on setting a record for the most amount of these types of shows she can appear on – following her Real World: Las Vegas debut, she has appeared on The Surreal Life, The Real World/Road Rules Challenge, Kill Reality, Fear Factor, Dr. Steve-O, and the reunion season for her Real World cast.

The Reporter notes that the mouth of the south himself, Jimmy Hart, has also joined Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling as the third judge, alongside Hogan and Eric Bischoff. Appearing as coaches on the series will be former pro wrestlers Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and Brian Knobbs (former member of the Nasty Boys tag team). The series debuts on CMT this fall.
