New WWE game coming for PS3 & 360

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. - (Business Wire) THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) and JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (NASDAQ:JAKK) today announced that WWE® Legends of WrestleMania® is currently in development for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Joining the distinguished WWE® SmackDown®/SmackDown vs. Raw® franchise, which has shipped more than 37 million units worldwide since 2000, WWE Legends of WrestleMania is scheduled for release in March 2009 to coincide with the annual pinnacle of sports entertainment, WrestleMania® 25, in Houston, Texas.

i'm assuming they will be releasing SD vs RAW 09 around fall of this year, so this may be a nice lil bonus.

hopefully they use the same engine they use for the current games so the actual gameplay doesn't suffer. i assume the roster for this game will be all "legends" and feature some of the okd WM venues and the old blue-gridlike cage match. the legends they add to the current games are kind-of lacking (SCSA and the rock EVERY FUCKING TIME?! 4 mick foleys?!? why not one mick, four alternate outfits? 3 hogans?!)

the "legends of wrestling" (either midway or acclaim, not sure) games that are out now are garbage. they're too cartoony and arcade-like.

Going by that logic you'd have to include Crush, Earthquake, Dino Bravo, and RW Hawk as well...guess i'm gonna have to breakdown and get PS3 one of these days not a big gamer but i heard they aren't releasing shit on PS2 anymore

I got some questions:

1. Why is this not comming out for Wii? Now I gotta spend money I don't have on a fuckin xbox so I can get 3 games. This, GTA 4 (which isn't actually GTA4 if you think about it, and Call of Duty 4

2. Why haven't they ever put Yokozuna on any games as a legend? They better put him on this game.

3. What about female legends? Like Moolah, Mae Young, Trish, Lita, Chyna (would she count as a female legend?), Sunny, Sherri, Luna Vachon, Alundra Blayze, the japanese chick with the weird hair that sticks up, Bertha Faye, Wendy Richter, Leilani Kai, etc. etc. etc.

4. What about the tranny female legends? Like Nicole Bass?

Fire Pro Returns is so much better than the last SvR game it's not even funny.

I bought both of them at the same time, November 07. I probably had SvR 08 for maybe two months, tops, before I traded that piece of shit in to Gamestop. FPR? I cherish it.

I'm very leery about this game. If it's the same terrible shit that's what's become of the SvR franchise, I may pass.

as for it not making it to the wii, let's be honest, the wii is struggling to keep up with the other two consoles. they have so much more to offer than gimmicky remote play. hell, i JUST got a ps3 and haven't even begun to explore it's full potential. plus the wii's processor couldn't handle as much as the others so a comparable wii version would still be less gooder

this is he 2nd generation of it but 2008 is not that good. 2009 sounds like its going to be good. I would buy a legend of wrestling video game..

the Wii version of Smackdown vs Raw sucked, which is ANOTHER reason I wanna get a 360.

I was thinking about getting a used one, but my cousin got her son a used one, and she said it didn't work good, so they traded it in for store credit and bought a new one.

and no, I'm not trading my Wii in to get a 360.
