Call me a chain-restaurant-going-douche, but I really like the 'shrooms at Texas Roadhouse.
Anybody got any idea on a recipe for them?

I love the ones sauteed in beer. The Chart House used to serve them but I haven't
been there in years since the service went to shit.

I like onions on my steak better than the mushrooms but I was able to find this...
Outback Sauteed Mushrooms (http://www.copykat.com/component/rapidrecipe/?page=viewrecipe&recipe_id=912)
Eck. I'll eat pretty much anything, but I'm just not into the Outback mushrooms. Too much of the wine taste at all the ones I've been to. Texas Roadhouse has this seasoning on theirs that has some steak sauce, maybe some Old Bay, and some other spices that really works for me, though.
I'll see if I can sweet-talk my waitress the next time I'm there, and see if she can hook me up with at least a bag of whatever spices they use.

Its been a while, since I have been to the Texas Roadhouse. Are the mushrooms you're talking about, deep fried. If they're, then may I suggest Drake's Fry Mix for the batter.

No, no deep fried. They're sauteed in some kind of blend of herbs and spices, and maybe with some kind of steaksauce or even a cooking sherry of some sort. But there's little/no sherry taste on the mushrooms after the cooking, which is a big plus for me.
I'm kind of weird. I think I've got pretty good taste for food, but I really don't like wine of any sort. I know some of the best foods are cooked with wine, but you have to be really good for me to not get turned off by the wine aftertaste.

In Souf Jersey " The Library" try the bourbon shrooms... o man dey is good.
Finally sweet-talked a waitress into getting it for me.
Mushroom Seasoning:
2 cups granulated garlic
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup black pepper
3/4 cup onion salt
1/4 cup salt
Be really light with this stuff. Very strong. Sauteed some baby bella mushrooms, then added this seasoning to it-> perfect.

Might want to scale that down...unless you're making a lifetime batch.
