Batista is expected to take a few months off soon, likely after One Night Stand. He is expected to be out until SummerSlam. At the moment, we don't have any details on his hiatus except that it's not Wellness-related. In light of this news, there's a good chance he'll being put out of action in his stretcher match with Shawn Michaels (http://www.wrestlezone.com/article.php?articleid=214345921#) tomorrow night at One Night Stand.

I just read on Wrestlezone that Undertaker wants to take some time off. Hopefully he doesn't take time off for good. I wanna see him win, but if he's gonna take time off, obviously he's not gonna win. I still really think he deserves one final LONG title run. Hopefully through Wrestlemania XXV.


As noted earlier, there was talk within the WWE locker room recently about The Undertaker taking some time off. Whether that will factor into the finish of tonight's TLC Match at One Night Stand for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship remains to be seen

HHH-I hope the sledgehammer comes out sometime during the match and then after HHH wins, Orton uses it to destroy the belt.(I will keep hoping for this to happen, maybe it will come true).

Cornette Responds To Santino Marella's Cage Match Challenge

On Friday, the Baltimore Sun published an interview with WWE star Santino Marella. He had some unfavorable things to say about TNA personality Jim Cornette, calling him a "loser" and an "insecure person." Marella relayed the story on Cornette slapping him after not reacting the way he wanted him to react to The Boogeyman at an Ohio Valley Wrestling show in the summer of 2005.

After telling the story, Marella made an "official challenge" to Cornette, challenging him to a cage match. Marella said, "But now that I'm in a position to challenge him to a cage match, I make an official challenge to Jim Cornette for the first time, right now, right here." The interviewer replied, "OK, we'll see if he answers." Marella then said, "Of course not. He's a coward, Kevin."

Ohio Valley Wrestling announcer Kenny Bolin, who's a good friend of Cornette, read Marella's comments to him. Courtesy of Bolin, Jim Cornette made the following statement concerning Marella's cage match challenge:

"I appreciate the offer but i would rather wait and have this match with some one who can actually draw money. I am long past the point in my career where i need to work with comedy JOB guys! isn't it funny that when i slapped him in the face 17 times in Louisville Ky. he was not too eager to fight then. but now safely hidden away in Canada at an AA meeting somewhere in Toronto protected by Jaques and Pierre, he suddenly wants a fight, But i am happy that i was able to make the Kid a name in the wrestling business since it doesn't look like he is going to do it for himself! Cornette's a fucking jizzbucket of shit, what he did was absolutely unaccepable, and the shit he is trying to pull responding to Santino "I'm too cool for you" routine absolutely reeks of cowardness and douchebaggery. I never liked him, and I hope he falls into a Puddle of AIDS, and not I'm not speaking about the chcocolate.

As for ONS I'm excited about this PPV. I like all the matches having some sort of gimmick to them for one night a year, instead of TNA's 3 or 4 gimmick matches (Stand by your man strap match= douche chills)on every PPV.

Taker- I would be shocked if Taker lost, but if he does Edge & fat cankled
cunt would be some of the hated heels in a while.

HHH- I don't see Hunter losing, but they need to refresh the main event o Raw, and hopefully they do it fast.
Hardy- Dummy doesn't deserve it, but of course he will win.

Cena- I would like to have JBL win, but I don't see it happening

HBK- If Batista is taking time off, what better way to do it then after a Stretcher Match with HBK, and some interference by Y2J.

Show- He is way over with fans ever since his return. They have to give him something and a feud with Kane over the ECW title can be pretty good. Better than Khali and Mark Henry anyways.

Beth Phoenix- For once I will actually take a look at the women's match. Who knows maybe it might be good.

After One Night Stand, I hoping the WWE refresh it's self and start up some new feuds for the summer before Summerslam.

Show: He's big and better since he'd return to WWE back in Feb 2008. I hope to see Big Show turn a heel, and get a shot for the world heavyweight title against the Undertaker at Night of Champions and continue until Great American Bash or Summerslam.

Kane: Has the ECW title, now but I hope Kane drops the ecw title to Tommy Dreamer or CM Punk. WWE pushes Kane to the main event for the world heavyweight title against the Undertaker or Edge before Night of Champions or Great American Bash.

Jericho: Drop the IC title to Mr. Kennedy or Santito for once. Jericho should got a shot against Triple H for the WWE title or something that has to relate with the WWE title in the summmer.

Cena: I hope he lose to JBL in the first blood match tonight at One night stand.

CM Punk/Tommy Dreamer feud for the ECW title. If Tommy Dreamer defeats Kane for the ECW title, I think CM Punk cashes his money in the bank for the ECW title, then wins ECW title and turns heel led into Dreamer/Punk feud until Summerslam.

Matt Hardy: I see Hardy defeat the US title against Benjamin, MVP or Burke.

Jeff Hardy: Works he's way back up to the WWE title before summerslam.

The Match, I want to see is a Hell in Cell Match with HHH, Cena, Orton, HBK, Jericho, Hardy and JBL for the WWE title at Summerslam.

The Second Match, I want to see is Big Show against the Undertaker b/c Big Show wins the world heavyweight title, finally.

Hardy's spot was Umaga was pretty nice looking. The Singpore match was awesome plenty of canes to go around. The Merriman spot was pretty cool, especially since it was unexpected. The last bit with Show being insane with anger was excellent. It showed Show as being a fucking monster. I'm looking foward to his feud with Kane...

As soon as they had Orton/Triple Haitch before Taker vs Edge I realised that Taker was going to lose. When Edge came out I was pretty much assured that Taker was indeed going to lose. Edge just had this look of shock on his face, as if he couldn't believe that he was going to win. To be honest with you I would have been pretty shocked too, if I hadn't read that Taker was aiming to take some time off.

The Taker vs Edge match itself was excellent, plenty of good spots, especially the one Taker took at the end. His elbow looked fucked up, I think he sliced it on one of the pieces of the table.

WWE.com has confirmed what I reported here last night - that Randy Orton has indeed suffered a broken collarbone. The injury occurred last night during his match with Triple H at the One Night Stand PPV. After blocking an RKO attempt by Orton, Triple H dumped the former WWE champion to the outside of the ring. Orton landed hard on his shoulder and was clearly in pain.

The Associated Press published a story this morning that included new details regarding Vince McMahon's "Million Dollar Mania" giveaway. Here are the details:

- The promotion begins next week on RAW (June 9).

- For a chance to win a part (but not all) of the $1 million, viewers must pre-register on WWE.com and then watch the beginning of "Raw" each week to receive a special code, which viewers must tell McMahon if he calls them during the live broadcast.

- The code will change each week of the promotion and will not be revealed until the beginning of each episode.

- The cash will be given away as part of a "lengthy promotional sweepstakes", McMahon and the WWE told The Associated Press.

- "People can view this as my own version of an economic stimulus plan to benefit our viewers," McMahon told The Associated Press.

The word going around backstage is that Batista will be wrestling Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions in a few weeks.

WWE is teasing that Santino Marella has a "surprise" for Roddy Piper.

ESPN Sportscenter showed video of Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers caning Chavo Guerrero at the WWE One Night Stand PPV on Sunday night.

In an Associated Press article (highlights posted here earlier), Vince McMahon said that the million dollar giveaway will be part of a lengthy promotional sweepstakes in which viewers will have to pre-register on WWE.com ,then watch the beginning of "Raw" each week to receive a special code, and if McMahon calls you during the broadcast and you have the code, you win some cash. According to McMahon, the goal is to reward current viewers and lure back older viewers.

New young talent is always fantastic, and I really want to see Cody/Holly lose the titles, only for Cody to swerve heel and team up with Dibiase as two punk kids turning on their dads when it comes to respecting the business. That could really be something fun.

And yes, yes, a thousand times yes for longer matches. Throw at least SOME sort of ring psychology in there. There's no story you can tell when it's punch, punch, snapmare, pin attempt, suplex, finisher, pin. Jericho vs. Michaels went over so well, maybe they're realizing this IS what people want. Short attention span wrestling really doesn't help anyone involved.

As for the main event last night i think that they should have cut out Cade and Murdocks match because that was a throw away and it took time away from Cena and Hardy. I think that they could have done a lot more with that match and i was disappointed by it. For some reason, i am not that pissed that we are going to see Cena vs. HHH again. I really dont know why because its something we have already seen, i think it has to do with that i enjoyed their rivalry leading up to WM22 and i liked it then so i have not that big of a problem now. But yes i would like to see some more new talent in the main event.

I'm getting behind Ted Debiasie Jr. There is a lot of potential with him i feel. he is really great on the mic which is good and if he develops of the next couple of months i think he will become i good superstar on Raw.

Surprised the shit out of me too, that Punk was even able to get him up. The match was pretty cool, even if both of them botched up a spot or two. The crowd was hot for it too. What really shocked me was the "CM" Punk chants at the end. Never expected them to cheer for Punk when he was goiing against Kane.

* The WWE Production Crew is currently changing the set from ECW to SmackDown.

* Lots of Champaign on ice with glasses is being setup. The opening segment will contain Edge and La Familia.

* La Familia is in the ring. Vickie is getting lots of heat. She introduces to the crowd, the man "who banished The Undertaker from WWE forever." Edge makes his way out to the ring.

* Edge dedicates his victory to La Familia. He uses the Jerry McGuire line on Vickie saying she completes him and that not only is he the new champ but he got rid of The Undertaker. He goes on to say he did him a favor by allowing him to leave with dignity and that Taker should thank him. He then makes a "toast" to the "Deadman" saying may he "rest in peace."

The lights go out teasing a Taker appearance… The lights then come back on and reveal it was all a prank by Edge. Vickie then announces her marriage to Edge for July 11th. Batista's music hits… He comes out as asks why he wasn't invited to the party. He goes on to say how he hopes they are happy together and congratulates them… He doesn't mean it… He challenges Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. Vickie says NO. She says for Batista to face Edge for the title he must win in an 8 man tag match but she chooses Batista's three partners. If Edge wins, no more title shots for Batista ever.

* Finlay b. Chuck Palumbo in a Belfast Brawl via pin fall.
Chuck with an overhead suplex on Finlay outside the ring. Chuck removes a turnbuckle pad and goes for his chain… He gets a low blow from Hornswoggle. Finlay takes the chain and nails Chuck. He pins him for the win.

MVP is shown sitting by himself.

* A Cousin Sal vs. Santino graphic is shown.

* Big Show comes to the ring for a promo. He talks about his new #1 contender status and clips from his Singapore Cane Match at One Night Stand are shown. Mark Henry makes his way out to the ring. He says all Big Show did was get put into a match with sticks to be the #1 contender. He then makes a challende and retreats.

* Backstage is Piper warming up with Cousin Sal. A graphic is shown for tonight's 8-man tag match.

* The Great Khali b. Deuce 'n Domino in squash match. He gets a face reaction.

* Backstage is Vickie with the SmackDown divas. She brags about how she has absolute power. She goes on to compare herself to the Fabulous Moolah and says she will crown a new diva champion.

* Cousin Sal b. Santino Marella
- Jimmy Kimell and Roddy Piper are at ringside. Cousin Sal wins with the rollup after Jimmy Kimmel trips Santino.

* The Miz and John Morrison are shown backstage tormenting Hornswoggle. Finlay shows up. Hornswoggle grabs a supersoaker and spays them both.

* Edge pulls Chavo aside and tells him he's going to be his Uncle Edge and he wants him to best the best man at his wedding.

* A Golden Dream Diva Match with Cherry, Maryse, Natalya, Victoria, Layle El, and Michelle McCool is up next. The winner advances to Night Of Champions. Natalya wins.

* Vladimir Kozlov b. Jimmy Wang Yang with a belly-to-belly suplex. After the match Shannon Moore comes out and saves Wang. They walk off together…

* Maria interviews Batista backstage.

* Hawkins, Ryder, Edge, and Chavo are all in the ring for the 8-man tag match. Out comes Batista followed by his partners Nunzio, Funaki, and Colin Delaney.

Batista and his team win after he hits the Batista bomb on Zack Ryder. Edge will defend the World Heavyweight Championship at Night Of Champions.

Vickie comes out and announces a handicap match with her and Edge vs. Batista. Batista hits Edge with a low blow and issues a Batista Bomb. The match is over. Batista then press slams Vickie over the top rope and onto the rest of La Familia. They escape to the back. Batista hangs out at ringside with fans after the show.

ECW Undergoes Major Rewrites This Week, Huge Hogan Lawsuit

Last night's ECW show underwent several rewrites. The original script for the show called for a number of pre-taped backstage segments, but Vince changed his mind and made it a straight forward wrestling show for the most part. The show wasn't finalized until yesterday afternoon.

Hulk Hogan should be facing a huge lawsuit from the Graziano family soon, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Hogan and his lawyers are under the impression that it will be a $50 million lawsuit, which is significantly more than he's worth.

Carlito's father, Carlos Colon, will be honored in New York City as part of the Puerto Rican National Parade next Sunday.

Devin Cutting sent in the following... The Score in Canada will be airing the 3-hour draft edition of Raw at these times: June 23rd - 9 PM to Midnight (ET), Late June 23rd/Early June 24th - Midnight to 3 AM (ET), June 24th - 4 PM to 7 PM (ET).

Stephanie McMahon has been off the road for the past few weeks due to her pregnancy. Stephanie is due to give birth in late July and will likely take a lengthy maternity leave upon the birth of her second child, so she's going be gone for quite a while longer. During her last maternity leave two years ago, Stephanie said she would not be involved in the creative process. Additionally, she has had little, if any, communication with the creative team during her time away.

That'll do it for me today unless something big breaks. See you in the morning for yet another fun work-filled day with WWE and TNA news and rumors!

For those of you with WWE 24/7:

Legends of Wrestling: Characters is pretty damn good. Lots of interesting and funny stories. It basically chronicles the worst characters and moments in wrestling history (thank you, WrestleCrap). If you have an hour or so to kill, give it a shot.

That being said: This is the 4th or 5th episode of Legends of Wrestling I've seen since subscribing to WWE 24/7, and in just about all of them, they manage to fit in a 5 minute or so segment sucking the Undertaker's dick. We get it. He has the undefeated win streak at Wrestlemania. He's the toughest guy ever in wrestling (what?). And he changes his character to keep it from getting stale. Wonderful. :icon_roll

According to the latest issue of Power Slam magazine out of the UK, former WWE Diva Trish Stratus has reportedly had her breast implants taken out.

If so, Stratus follows the lead of a few other women to remove their breast implants after leaving the world of professional wrestling behind including Chyna, Debra "Madusa" Miceli, Kimberly Page and Nidia Guenard.

It's about the life of Benoit and what ultimately led to his tragic end.

It also doubles as a total expose of wrestling's dark underbelly. The author strikes me as almost unrelentingly critical of the industry (to the point where he makes it seem as if there's NOTHING redeeming about pro wrestling whatsoever), but it was worth the price for the stories alone, some of which are so bizarre and sleazy they strain believability.

I've just finished the Stampede portion of the book, which doesn't paint the Harts in a good light. Oh, and Dynamite Kid might be one of the greatest wrestlers of the last 30 years, but as a person, the dude was (and is) a complete piece of shit.

WWE Talent Prefer To Work Smackdown, Stars Backstage

- WWE wrestlers are more willing to work on Smackdown rather than RAW, which wasn't the case in the past. Mid and undercard wrestlers prefer Smackdown because they feel they would have a better opportunity of moving up in the company.

The backstage feeling is that RAW lead writer Brian Gewirtz is primarily focused of the main even wrestlers and he has failed to create new stars since signing with the company.

- Ric Flair and Rey Mysterio were backstage at One Night Stand PPV. Mysterio was reported to be in good shape and he's listed for house shows in July.

'Taker's Return Already Confirmed, New TNA Signing Details

The Undertaker will be working WWE's upcoming Australian tour, replacing the Big Show who is out with a orbital bone injury. WWE is pushing a storyline where Vickie Guerrero is "allowing" Undertaker to bid farewell by wrestling during the Australian tour.

I can confirm today that TNA has signed former WWE developmental diva Shantelle Taylor. TNA had signed her a few months back but had some issues with her visa since she is Canadian. I'm told she'll be involved in the Awesome Kong 'fan' storyline in the coming weeks.

I can also confirm that former ROH and WSX star Matt Sydal is at WWE's tapings this weekend and will apparently now be part of the ECW brand as I noted earlier here on the site. Sydal's been in WWE's developmental system for awhile now. Sydal helped train Floyd Mayweather, Jr. for his WrestleMania match as well. That impressed WWE management and he's being rewarded for it. He's also a very good talent.
