Saints Row 2 trailer pokes fun at GTA IV

The latest "please get excited to buy us" trailer for Saints Row 2 takes some playful potshots at Grand Theft Auto IV. The video, which we've placed after the break, asks us if we'd like to do mundane tasks like bowling in GTA IV or more over-the-top things in Saints Row 2, like shooting sewage at pedestrians?

The trailer is a tiny bit awkward, acting as if THQ's game will be available right after players are done with GTA IV. We really don't know how long they expect us to be playing GTA IV, but considering Saints Row 2 doesn't come out until October, chances are we'll be done with it sooner than they anticipate.

I gave up on GTA since they seem to think I won't notice they put the same exact gameplay in every game and just add a different main character ever since GTA3. Maybe I'll try this but if its the same repetitive ass bullshit like in GTA then fuck it.

That trailer was a little obnoxious but considering I loved the first game and Volition as a company in general, of course I'll be getting this game. That plus some of the crap in this game looks pretty fucking cool.

The mini-games are kinda dull. Also, the generic activities such as dining, drinking etc are mostly pointless as they don't seem top affect your progression in the game much, if at all.

Some of the new additions look really good. I thought they added some great features to the genre in the first one and it seems they're going to take it even further in this one. Pretty smart getting upset GTA fanboys to spread the word for them too.
