So the wife and I went to Red Lobster yesterday for lunch. My meal was fine but my wife got this crab linguine dish with a Parmesan-Alfredo type sauce. The Parmesan is so strong my wife didn't really like it. I thought it tasted fine though and we brought it home.

Anyway, I don't even know if this is possible, but what is a good way to lighten up the Parmesan flavor in that Alfredo-type sauce?

I thought water, but that would probably make it too thin. Then I thought maybe just a jar of plain Alfredo sauce from the grocery and put some of that in there.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

good question, you could try butter, or heavy whipping cream, but the strength of flavor is in the cheese its self its going to be hard to knock it back

Get some chicken broth and heat it in a pan and add the pasta untill the sauce becomes liquidy/thinner and then eat. You can prob dip bread in the leftover sauce in the plate as well.

re-heat sauce and pasta in a pan useing cream. A real good alfredo only has 4 ingredients heavy cream, parmesean, garlic, nutmeg. we make it every day in my restaurant. But remember the quality of you dish is gonig down. This will be the third time this dish has been cooked. The first time it was made to hold (possibly a couple days ago) . Then recooked for you last night.

Ditto on the heavy cream. You should be able to get away with whole milk too if you don't have heavy cream.

Reduce on low heat with the cream and enjoy.
