MMA weekly's fighter rankings

[Capt.Caveman]

The latest MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings were released on Wednesday, June 11. This system ranks the Top 10 MMA fighters from all across the world in each of the six most widely accepted weight classes.

Taken into consideration are a fighter’s performance in addition to his win-loss record, head-to-head and common opponents, difficulty of opponents, and numerous other factors in what is the most comprehensive rankings system in the sport.

Fighters who are currently serving drug-related suspensions are not eligible for Top 10 consideration until they have fought one time after the completion of their suspension.

Fighters must also have competed within the past 12 months in order to be eligible for Top 10 consideration.

Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira shouldn't even be in the top 10

And I also think a lot of the japanese and the smaller show lwt's are over rated

What the fuck are GSP and Anderson Silva gonna do? They are destroying their respective weight classes. I know that anyone can win at time. Silva needs to jump up to 205, or GSP needs to jump up to 185 and take on Silva.

Is Koscheck really that good? Has he even knocked anyone out or subbmitted anyone? I like Koscheck, especially after he beat Diego, but none of his fights are that memerobale. He just seems to stall to a win. A win is a win though.

The thing that I am most surprised about is how high so many of the TUF fighters are ranked. I don't doubt their abilites, it just shows how well that show has worked out. Its like the UFC's farm system.

I would want to see GSP defend the title a few times before it is considered that he has fully dominated the welterweight division. He lost to Serra in his first title defense, it may have been a fluke but it is still a loss. Once he beats a few of the top contenders then I think this discussion could take place.

He just looks rediculous. When he fights Alves, that will be a great fight. He just looks more meaner and more improved everytime i see him. He is such a nice and humble guy, that if he were to kick your ass, you almost feel good about it.

Lyoto Machida is the future. The only reason Rua is so high is because of his win against Rampage, but Rampage has improved too much for him to do it again. I doubt Liddell is fast enough or smart enough to beat Machida but It'd be fun to watch him try.

certain guys are so high or low because of recent activity. these lists are not necessarily based on who is the best or most skilled. they tend to base it on accomplishments inside that division

so Pulver isnt going to place high. Kid Yamamoto, maybe the best featherweight in the world isnt even on the list because he took time off the try out for the Japanese olympic wrestling team.

His only fight since losing to Nick at PRIDE 33 was against Duane Ludwin on March 5th in Japan. The event was Sengoku- First Battle. Josh Barnett / Hidehiko Yoshida was the main event.

There has be speculation that he is frustrated with his current deal and is looking to join the UFC. He sat next to Tito a few events ago (UFC 79?)

Like everyone else, I would love to see Penn/Gomi II.
