Yeah, no Jessica, just wanted you to open it.
I'm looking for a driver update software, but a free one. I know they exist, but my Google-Fu seems to be failing me today. Any help?

Help me find drivers and I'll more easily be able to find them for you, sir!

I use Driver Agent. The scan is free, but to get the drives you gotta join. I did it a while back, I consider it worth it. I can use it on all 3 of our PC's and if I get stuck fixing a relative or friend's PC, I can also use it there.

Yeah, I'll sign up for a legit service some time, I'm honestly just trying to get my speakers to work at the moment and I can't seem to find a driver for this Asus motherboard sound card... Can anyone point me in the right direction with a link or something? (Motherboard device CD is long since departed)
p.s. I'm also baked (which is rare for me) so I'm like, easily distracted by shiny objects and shit... So a link would be great! :action-sm

Look up your board and you should be able to download the appropriate drivers for the onboard audio.

Yeah, I did that and after 3 resets so that I could get the whole model number from the start up splash screen I found out that the US Mirror sites were down... Finally found one though after I called Asus tech support.
By the way, them Asus tech guys are some fine, American, awesome tech support guys.

Their upgrade configurator scans your system and tells you lots of good stuff you may not know, like the model of your motherboard.

Ooohhh, that site is a nice find dude... I'll be giving them way more of my money than I should in the very near future

They are overpriced for upgrades, but their little tool often can help you figure stuff like this out.

Yeah, I looked a little closer at the prices, but how cool is it to just take the serial and search Newegg.com or something with exactly what you want knowing full well it's compatible. I'm a fan

I've DLed like 5 different drivers at this point and I get some device failure message every time. I'm thinking the jack is fucked and I need to just buy a cheap sound card.
