Hey, does anyone know if its possible to listen to streaming music and whatnot on a Blackberry Curve? I've tried to listen to a few online radio stations plus wanted to use xm online or xstreamxm but nothing works, it won't load in the media player. Cheers!

This is the only option I know of but there is an extra monthy fee.

Won't work. Blackberries don't use a media player like Windows Media Player. They have their own proprietary media player.

I know for a fact it can work, my ex uses her's as the music input in her car.

Check out Howardforums.com for more info than you'll ever want on the subject.

I have tried musicdock before in my Blackberry and it will not work because the file type isn't supported by the Blackberry media player.

For anyone looking to do this with their blackberry (Pearl or otherwise), see this link below. I have xm streaming to my 8830. All you need is the newer OS (4.3 or above) and a couple of free programs.

Here are the additional steps and tweaks left out of the link above:

- Download and install uXM
- Add the port 19081 (in addition to 80 and 554 that Orb uses) to the forwarding rules in your router
- Start uXM and enter your XM login information
- Click on the URLs button
- You will need to do this for every channel you want to stream via Orb, but I will just give you the most important one - Norton and Friends
- Change the channel drop down to XM202 and copy the URL in the box
- Log into Orb via your web browser if it is not already open
- Click on "Open Application" and select Audio
- Click on "Favorites" under "Internet Radio"
- At the top, click on "Add Custom"
- In the "Add Custom Channel" box, enter the name (what ever you want) and in the path box, paste the URL you copied from uXM

Some other tips if you are having problems:

- Click on the Orb icon in the System Tray
- Go to Configuration and then to Advanced
- Uncheck "Use PnP for DirectStream"

On your Blackburry, if you can get video to play, but not audio (I had this problem), uncheck the Full Screen option in the media player. You may have to do this by streaming a video first, unchecking the option, and then going back to an audio stream.
