Figured the horror/sci-fi fans will know him. Did everything from Aliens and Predator to Iron Man, and one of my favorite creature designs, Pumpkinhead.

He was definitely one of the best at his craft. Its a shame, with all the advances made in technology, some CGI will never look as real as Winston's creations did.

Just think how much Predator would of sucked if they didnt hire Stan after their original character design ended up looking like a rejected Seaseme Street. And who else could of brought to life James Cameron's Art "You had the redesigned Aliens from Aliens the Queen Alien and the T 800" in such detail? And the Dinosaurs from Jurassic Park everyone went gah gah over the fucking CGI but Jesus, that Trex in the first movie it's Pupils Dialated we never seen that much attention to detail in a movie dino before that. His Work from the last 30 years will go down with the greats like that of Jack Pierce and Jack Dawn before him as some of Hollywoods Iconic movie creations.

some CGI will never look as real as Winston's creations did. Most, if not all, will never look as real. The difference was that Winston's stuff was real; CGI is not.

I think we'll be reasonably ok. He did train some people in his method and style. Agreed, it won't be the same since he isn't directly involved in the construction anymore.

Fucking genius! The T-800 was a brilliant design. Amazing how so many people miss the mark on effects when he got it right so much. Also Spielburg has gotten more credit than he deserves for JP. Winston created that world.
