It recognized what ones I use and gave me a screen with a list of the ones (or one in my case) that weren't compatible. The only one that I lost was the skin to make it look like Safari. All very painless, but then again I can't speak for the Windows version. I'd assume that it would be just as easy there. I like it so far.

Oh and it fixed that damn bug where embedded Youtube videos wouldn't play on message boards. :D

A shitload faster, I built a new pc for myself a couple months back and just decided to beta test 3, been using it since then, with gmail it almost seemed like it was predicting my click. There's plenty of documents on the new memory reallocation code in the program itself, which is fascinating and the plugins that didn't make the cut are the ones that didn't fit within the new scheme. The new code doesn't allow plugins and extensions to hog memory unnecessarily. Which is awesome because mozilla saw that with tabbed browsing, gmail, and other online apps (google docs etc..) users keep their browser open all day, or in my case it doesn't close unless i reboot.

Meh, it's ok. I'm pissed that MouseGestures wasn't compatible, and I had to find a new add-on for that.

I think I may just stick with Opera (for my main browser), which also released a new version this week....and it's still better than FF.

I do switch between the two, though.

'fraid not. That option doesn't appear in the context menu. Just that button, and I don't want to enable some other old extensions that I have a suspicion would crash it if forced. I downloaded the day it came out, (before the servers exploded), and on Day 3, I LOVE IT. It's essentially the same browser as before, obviously, but the Firefox team really did a great job tweaking and improving it and making it, (in my mind), the only browser that should be around today. IE is such a piece of shit compared to it. It's 10x faster than before, (I didn't believe that claim when I was reading the potential features for 3 before it came out, but it was true). I bookmark very many sites and like the improved bookmarking and the improved ways to organize your bookmarks. The security is amped up, which in IE is virtually non-existent. So, if you haven't, download it NOW!

Working super fast for me.

Only thing I'd like to see come back is the Go button. There are sites that sometimes hang and won't finish loading. And I'd rather click on the Go button than have to click on the address bar and hit enter. (Also, sometimes sites hang without putting the address in the bar -- leaving it blank, in other words. So clicking on the bar and hitting enter won't work there.)

So I'd like the Go button again. Other than that, FF3 rules.

Hmm, I still have it at the bottom of the history menu. It's "recently closed tabs >" and then a list of said closed tabs. It's grayed out if I hadn't closed any out in the current session. I don't think I have any extensions that would change that, but here is what I have:

Anyone using Download Statusbar and having issues? It's not clearing the bar when the download completes, and yesterday I noticed it's not using the proper filename. Ex, download file1.zip and when it's done it stays in the statusbar. Download file2.zip and it shows that's it's redownloading file1.zip (even though it's actually downloading file2.zip). I use Statusbar and have no issues with FF3. It's not supposed to clear the bar when the download the completes, that's the point. It clears when you double click the filename or right-click and hit "Clear from bar."

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it from scratch with a reboot in between and see if that helps.

Can you right click on the tab bar and select "undo close tab" (after closing a tab of course)?

Also, try creating a new profile and see if that fixes it.
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles

Finally, it may be something that got messed up in about:config. I don't know where, but that setting is probably somewhere in there.

You may also want to go over to the mozilla board and see what they can tell you, since they would obviously know better than us end-users.

I'm an idiot. There's a setting to automatically clear filetypes when they're done. I didn't have it set properly. Did try reinstalling things though to fix the download name issue.

I have it running on Tiger, XP, and Vista, and so far I like it. Some of my old plugins don't work, but they are getting patched quite often.

My only complaint is that it takes around 30 seconds for FF3 to load all of my RSS feeds before I can use it.
