Fwiw... in the original draft of the second Austin Powers film after losing his mojo, Austin was supposed to go visit a love guru who acted and sounds a lot like this guy. The guru was supposed to be Mike Myers, naturally.
Absolutely

This movie is an abomination.
I get psychically angry when I see the previews.
I just hate Mike Myers. And I agree, there a 5% chance that Myers actually shows up on ONA.
Roland: Ummm, I ummm talked to the publicist, and ummmm they having scheduling problems.
I also agree with other who have stated that Myers wouldn't be scheduled on ONA if this movie was even below average. It must absolutely STINK

I agree with everyones feelings on this, but has anyone seen the trailer at the theater?
I saw it before Iron Man and people were eating it up. This normal looking guy sitting two seats down from me was flipping out and telling his friends how he can't wait to check it out.
I think I lost a lot of respect for my fellow Americans that day.
After O&A mentioned the Austin Powers movies made like 3 billion dollars, I still think there are a lot of rubes out there who will see this, plus all the teen girls (and Lily) who will see it just for Justin Timberlake.
I'd rather see "Get Smart" over this but I'm still thinking "Love Guru" should take the B.O. this weekend.

I agree with everyones feelings on this, but has anyone seen the trailer at the theater? The first time I saw it in theaters (midnight showing of Iron Man) there was some awkward laughter but every subsequent time nothing. I've heard more genuine laughs from the Get Smart trailer. For all I know, this might cater to blacks Zohan did.
But I agree, this takes Box Office this weekend.

You should have climbed over the seats and just started sexually assaulting him for living with such stupidity. If I see that fucking preview with the child's body with myers head pasted over it one more time I'll stab someone. They described the entire movies plot in the commercial, alba can't get men, myers can't get women, they fall in love thus solving both their problems when a mysterious hero gives them both a nudge with his concealed hypodermic needles coated with aids blood. They die of aids after shitting blood and dropping weight faster then Steve C and people rejoice because they really were infected and we don't have to put up with there nonsense films anymore.

i'm with you Liddy. I don't like watching movies online. However, I would suggest you pay your 5 dollars to a movie that deserves it then go into this shit movie. If I could, I would. What am I going to spend it on? Get Smart (which I probably will see as well and think it looks better than LG)? The Happening (which again because of how terrible it's supposed to be, I'm tempted to see it too)? Kit Kittredge: 1930s Nancy Drew? Save it for Wall*E? See Hulk again? Iron Man again?
This is a very terrible summer for smaller movies. Nothing seems to be opening of decent quality. And, I do find something very cathartic about being in a movie theater and the worse the movie is, the better I sometimes feel, as odd as that sounds. To be stuck in your own miserable head day after day and then on screen seeing something that reminds you that you're hatred towards the world actually ought to be validated? It's a good feeling.
Besides, I never really "plan" on seeing one movie anyway.

Wow that was bad. It was really bad. The only bearable parts were side performances by Colbert, Gaffigan and Oliver. Unlike Austin Powers (which I did like) and Wayne's World, you never got the sense of the fully realized universe. What this was was a bunch of increasingly unfunny gags that just seemed to ripoff his earlier work. And Alba was just a blank slate.
Surprising amount of hockey.

See, I saw one trailer (the one where he does the voiceover machine) and I thought it looked like another Austin Powers, only he was playing an Indian guru instead of a British agent. I didn't think it looked bad. Guess I was wrong, because the reviews have been fucking brutal. I've always found Mike Meyers to be funny, even though I remember I didn't care for the third Austin Powers. I wonder what happened? I almost have to still see it just to see how bad it really is.

I've always found Mike Meyers to be funny, even though I remember I didn't care for the third Austin Powers. I wonder what happened? I almost have to still see it just to see how bad it really is. I remember the third Powers seemed a bit more forced but had funny moments. The worst part was that they had an Osbournes reference which felt was too over the top hack. Most of the jokes in the series were more or less timeless, but including Kelly and the brother (Jack?) immediately dated the film and wasn't even funny in a "Meet the Spartans" way but cringey in the way Julia Robert's pregnancy played into Ocean's Twelve. But even in AP3 he had the talent and the spark in it and overall it was enjoyable.
This was just...bad. Mike Myers has proven himself to be someone who can be completely out there yet still be restrained. As "wacky" as Austin Powers was, Austin was never retarded. His performance in this was so hammy and amateurish that Pitka bordered on retarded. I felt that this movie was made for children, who care more about fart jokes and dick jokes and camera mugging than intelligent humor. For all the silliness in the Austin Powers movies, there was a good deal of "smart" jokes in there too. There might have been two or three that were passable though I cannot remember them now.

Ratings equal the power to tell lawyers to go fuck themselves.

One thing I will give her credit for is that even she admitted the only reason why she is where she is, is due to her looks not her acting. She is eye candy, after she pops out a kid she will have a few more years before she goes the Direct to DVD route.
This movie looked like shit from the first trailor. I thought the Austin powers films deteriorated as they went on. While the first was original and funny, they became more hack and "cute" as they went on. This film looked like the worst bits from AP3.

I can see Vyce's point though. Ronnie tends to veer way too much towards movie snob. There have been some good action, fantasy, comic book movies that have been made yet he seems to automatically group them into "kids films" and immediately dismisses them. I agree that there has been a ton of shit released by the studios over the years, but he seems to be unable to just watch a film and enjoy it for being mindless fun.

I enjoyed it, but I'm not as cynical as most people around here. Maybe I am too familiar with gurus and Bollywood that I got a lot of the smaller references that the audience I was in didn't seem to get. Sure there were some simple jokes for immature folks, but Mike Myers is just a brilliantly funny guy and I might have even liked this more than Goldmember.
The high points were too few and far between and sometimes missed entirely (the bar fight thrown in for the sake of a fight), but there were several smaller moments I laughed hard at.
I still would take Myers as the top film comedy star, other than maybe Will Ferrell.
Now if he were to do a Sprockets film (he may be too old for it now), I'd expect that to get really bad reviews and low box office, but it would become a cult classic.
