First off, I'm not selling this. Just trying to find out what its worth.
The first Star Wars movie. What used to be Star Wars I, in Super 8 film format. This is a legit copy of the movie with all the stickers on the reels and everything. A friend of mine got it from an Uncle who retired and moved to Florida. He said he could keep or sell whatever he left in the house. He was wondering if I know what this kind of stuff sells for. He has no interest in SCIFI. He says he's going to keep the super 8 porn movies tho. I like SCIFI, but I'm not into the collecting and conventions. I think he just wants an idea of how much to ask for it when he sells it on Ebay. Anyone?

In 1977, "Ken Films" released a pair of truncated versions for the 8mm home movie market. One version is in black and white and is silent; an other has color and is silent. The longest color and sound version has 17 minutes running time. There are also two further color and sound versions existing: one with 8 minutes and one with 4 minutes. The English company "Derran" released a complete version of STAR WARS on 750 meters polyester Super-8 in Cinemascope & Dolby Stereo (etemated 50 - 100 copies).

I remember my mom taking what was probably the 17 minute color version with sound out of the library for my fifth birthday.

I don't think we had a VCR yet and we wanted to watch it before Jedi came out. Or knowing Lucas maybe it just wasn't on VHS yet.

According to EBAY it's worth about $16.

There appear to be many versions that were released. Does it have sound? Which company released it? How long is it.

It doesn't have sound. His uncle said it came with a cassette tape, but it was lost. How that worked, I don't know.

you would start the tape at a certain part in the film. then it would kind of sync up
