Alot of speculation that they're going to reveal Diablo 3 this weekend, and considering those are runes from Diablo 2 stuck in the ice, it's highly likely.

Anyone psyched as I am about the proposition of playing a new Diablo? I just hope it's not an MMO.

Looks more like its related to the new WoW expansion to me. Northrend is largely covered in ice, and the new Death Knight hero class uses runes as part of combat....

I'd call Diablo a shopping list RPG (300% MF? Check. Decked out Amazon/Sorc/Hammerdin? Check, etc etc..), once you started cow runs, it became an itemfest.

Yeah, I said its probably related to WotLK, the new WoW expansion: more details, talent trees and new skills, release date, etc. Especially given the ice theme, Id say its most likely a slew of WotLK info. Wrath of the Lich King was announced, what, a year ago? Its not like its "new" per-se in terms of announcement, but they still have a lot of details that have yet to be released.

eh i doubt its WotLK related. It's already in alpha testing, and I don't think opening up the beta test, or announcing even a ton of details about the game would warrant the ice screen for the past week.

I'll be very happy regardless if its a Starcraft 2 or diablo 3 announcement. And yea the diabloii.net link says that "we now have confirmation from inside sources to say that Diablo 3 WILL be announced on Saturday at WWI Paris 2008."
