Alone in the Dark: the reviews are in and the game stinks

I was bummed to read early message board reviews. People who played it said the controls are so bad it's not enjoyable to play the game.

So finally the IGN review is released and the game got a 3.5 out of 10. I don't remember a game that looked this promising, getting such a bad score in a while. This game looked pretty cool too and not it looks like it's a broke pile of shite.

This is really fucking disappointing. I'll wait for the XPlay and Gametrailers.com reviews before I decide if it's worth a rent, since IGN reviews, as a rule, stink, but it sounds like all the stuff they say is fucked up would be pretty hard to make a bad call on.

I was planning on picking this game up this week until I read this.I do want to see some more reviews, but I do normally trust IGN. I trust IGN and Gamespot, then average out the opinions. If Gamespot hates it, you know it's garbage.

But I do look forward to seeing if Morgan Webb and her tits score the game.

I find Gametrailers to be a more gooder site for reviews, although it sounds like if an enterprising young man had a little patience, they'd probably be able to wait a little while to pick this game up for significantly less than 60 bucks.

Yeah, with a 7.5 from Gametrailer and 6.5 from Gamespot, looks like IGN really overreacted.

But it saved me some money, because I was going to buy this game day one. But looks like the controls and destroying trees for hours gets an epic fail.

But today is Friday, so I can just rent dis mofo.

I'm very excited about UT3, because I haven't had a PC powerful enough to run a game in the series since UT2003 (some maps ran well). But it could fail if not enough people buy it, since it's all about online play; can't play if no one is around.

Some people might care about Soul Caliber 4. I don't. I'll rent it once to admire the graphic and then get bored.

I don't know after that, not a lot of software is release in the summer. With good reason, it's nice outside. :icon_cool

Cant say I am looking forward to either of those. I am actually drawing a blank as to what i am looking forward to thats coming "soon"

Games on the horizon:

Force Unleashed in Sept, Prototype and Deadspace in Oct, Alan Wake, Bionic Commando, Gears o' War and Fracture for the holidays, not to mention Tomb Raider: Underworld in November and Dark Void sometime next year. Also, further back on the horizon there's Wipeout HD, GoldenAxe: Beast Rider, Mirror's Edge, Resident Evil 5 and Infamous.
I think that about covers it.

Oh shiza-hozen, I just remembered that Prototype got pushed back to early 09. Oh well.
