You are a crazy person.

Franklyn is a good friend of the show, not only for all of the filming and editing work he does for the show, but because he is able to speak with intelligence on a variety of topics.
He also takes good natured ribbings from Ron, which is a requirement when you are friends with the man....

I like Franklyn on a personal level, so maybe I am biased, but he adds to the show when invited to do so and does NOT step on Fez or Ron at all. He is good people.

My ears don't hear the frequency of his voice. I sometimes hear sonorous tones emanating from the speakers and am able to divine it is Franklin in studio. He needs to speak louder or in a different register so I can decided whether I hate him or dislike him.

I actually like Franklin because he does add thoughts to the show, tries to engage them in conversation and knows when to sit back. He doesn't try to be a zany character (unlike any of the Brooklyn Boys who figure an over-the-top New York accent is a proper substitute for anything of substance).

I put in the group with Mikeyboy and Mike the Teacher.

Couldnt agree more. He is not bad, I usually dont know he's there until I hear his laugh or if Ron intros him, and then he contributes something useful for the most part, plus he and Dean contribute alot to the show, or the internet/video related part of it anyway.

please god nooooooooooooooo. If they hire anyone i hope its Mooch(that irish guy). He was smart , funny, did production, fit in to the show, and didnt make everything about him.

Every time someone starts showing up on the show (East Side Dave, Lilly, Sheepy, HTG, etc.) we get one of these. Do me a favor: go over to the wonderful RonFez.net - find some clips from whatever incarnation of the show you're holding on to and listen to them endlessly.

If you listen to the show you can see that the people He pulls in on mic are very much like chess pieces for Him. For a while, He was using his goto piece: Dave. But when there are other pieces available, He will use them. Franklin is one of those pieces and is well used as seen from today's discussion.

Baby is probably my favorite newest piece. He had some interesting ideas today with Franklin throwing in some good comments on generation gaps.

One thing that amazes me is how does he afford to live in NYC and be on the show every day? He's basically dedicated his life to Ron and Fez for free. I can see why Ron would appreciate him so much if the guy is basically part of the staff but for free.

Still it's too bad they can't fill that Pitzy slot with Mooch. Mooch rules on mic and behind the scenes was a God.

The only thing that gets me about Franklin (movie discussions) is he has such shit taste in movies. I wish someone had good taste in movies and could engage Ron in film discussion outside of Dave. Dave is good but sometimes he'll get too emotional and paint himself into a corner. I wish Dean was there more often too, I enjoy him as well.

This makes me question Ron's judgement, then, because Franklin is fucking terrible and brings nothing to the table when compared to ESD, and you have no idea how much it pains me to give that shit-eating freak even a backhanded compliment.

I think we need to give up the hope of Fez contributing like he did pre-XM. It has been 2 years now and he has decided to become a mute and let Ron and whoever else is in studio speak other than him. I love Fez but I think we all need to accept the fact that he is no longer what he once was.

You'll see his energy pop up from time to time, or he'll have 1-2 jokes/lines a show. Like when he was talking about the Sandtraps in Dubai, but his total mic time for the entire show is about 4-5 minutes I bet, unless he's specifically dragged in to a conversation, personally addressed. Which I know has been brought up and talked about ad nauseum, but I don't think he's going to have an WNEW comeback ever.

Saying that, I know Ron has to bring other people in, and I LOVE Dave. I'm fine with Dave talking the entire show, I like him that much, but Franklin...he's basically a even more boring Earl.
He sounds like Anthony and Jimmy's Steve impression slowed down, and dullified.

really wasnt trying to be , it just flowed off the end of my fingers. So many drugs, it takes over a month for most to return you back to whatever your brain chemistry was before, and Fez has tried alot.
Worked with pharmaceuticals, giving advice etc the last 2 years, I'm so glad to be away from it now.

Franklin still sounds like Tay Zonday.

Im conviced the addition of ESD/ and or people like (semi regs) franklin and the brooklyn guys will be the downfall of the RaF show on sat radio.

Who knows if they make it through the merger ? I cant believe having ESD and the brooklyn guys as a big part of the show will help RaF's chances on sat radio (the best spot 4 them is long format shows and if you disagree u can just die b/c u know nothing).

The best thing for the "ron and fez" shows longterm success would be to cut free from these guys and give Fez a chance to shine again. Will Fez be his old self with these guys gone? Who knows but its worth a try. Fez leans on these people too much and with out them there Fez would either sink or swim. If after 6-10 months and hes still sinking then fine i give up bring any boring (yes Franklin tell us again how you agree with Ron) hack (hey everyone ESD is yelling at the top of his lungs b/c he has a pringles can up his ass rofl) into the studio to be 2nd mike and Fez can go back to being 4th/5th mike on his own show.

I dont blame ron hes been waiting 3 + years now for Fez to man up but in the end Fez does not have to man up with these other guys around. Let these ESD era people go and give fez a few months and lets see what happens.

But the way i look at it its either keep ESD and 100% chance we never see Fez improve OR we get rid of ESD/and others and maybe we have a 25% chance to see Fez improve. Sorry ESD i choose Fez. I've been away for a bit, but I still stand by my opinion. I've been keeping up with the show via torrent and when I hear Franklyn it's almost unlistenable. I don't understand how some think he's a contributor to the show and he's witty.

Franklyn is a sycophant, who is little more than a well spoken version of Earl. All he does is agree with Ron (in the half laugh, half faux interest voice he has) and tries to get people to like him. I'm not buying it.

There are only 3.5 contributors to the show, to wit - Ronnie (the genius), Dave, Lilly (because she gets everyone's dick hard and talks about swallowing cum), and 0.5 Fez (because there are days when I don't know he's there, yet his name is on the show).

/Get better, Fezzy.

I agree that Franklin is entertainment kryptonite.

But the real issue is that he is a microcosm of what is wrong with the show lately. The lack of resurgence by Fez has turned it into Ronnie and his lemmings. My appreciation for all things Bennington is offset by the people who show up to the studio seemingly just to agree with Ronnie.

I realize that the insiders have to say that everything is okay, so that they can maintain most favorite listener status, but I'm just a rank and file fan/subscriber/listener(no jealousy toward the insiders).

Ronnie has said that "The people on the show either make the jokes or you are the joke." Just where does Franklin fit in to that equation?

God bless Fez though for having the easiest job in the world. Only has to be in the studio for 2 hours and 50 minutes a day with probably 4-5 weeks of vacation per year and holidays, says maybe 10 minutes worth of material in that time frame per day while letting Ron do all of the light and heavy lifting, and probably still is pulling in well into the 6 figures.

I wonder once this merger goes through if this show will survive. The bosses looking to cut costs may look at this show and wonder what direction it can probably go in when one of the hosts has been a mute for the better part of 2 years and shows no signs of wanting to come out of it. They may cut their losses and just keep Ron on to do specials.

If you distill it down, I'd be surprised if Fez speaks a total of 10 minutes. I think more along the lines of 5-6 minutes. The shocking thing is mumbley Earl is now pushing more lines out than Fez. Ron and Fez in name only.

If they do move on, I'd love to see a late night talk show with Ronnie. Fezzie could be maybe his sidekick or announcer.

It keeps us from facing up to the misery of existence and monotony of work by having 9 hours of radio a day + message board time.

Yes, looking back it might seem silly but right now - why not do it? It's fun. What else are we going to do with our time? Learn a new language? Learn a useful skill when the world goes to shit and we have to rely on our wits and abilities to survive? Fuck no.

As for Fez, with the way the Ron and Fez show is set up now I really don't see him improving anytime soon. I also don't think it convinces him to speak up when everytime he throws out a topic, Ron says it's stupid.

I like Franklyn on the show. He is doing video stuff for Ron and Fez, something that is badly needed, I mean mikeyboy can't always be there to film shit. So why not get the Cipher film guys? Franklyn isn't the second coming on the radio, but he's good. I think it's ludicrous to say he's great on the show, but I also think it's crazy to say he sucks. He gives you another perspective. Great radio voice.

Sometimes he plays up to Fez (IMO) or agrees just to get over with Ron. Kinda like Earl, but not as bad.

BTW, Earl has been coming on like gangbusters lately. Summer of Earl!

There's always a sense of some "project" that Franklyn is working on. It seems silly that we have to hear the comments and arguments of their VIDEO producer on the RADIO show. Also, Ron has been pissed lately at his guys for not having paltalk ready to go at a moments notice, but never seems to bring any heat on Franklyn. Who knows, maybe they're renaming the show RonandFez.youtube.com? <R&F equivalent of linger longer>

I've been railing about "Celebrity Listeners" for quite a while now.
I foresee a time when every time the show gains a staff member, Ron puts them on the air, leaving nobody to do the work, thereby needing more staff, who then become characters, etc... Until there are 30 witless nobodies on the air and nobody answering the phone. :haha7:
