"Meet Dave" star Eddie Murphy is dishing to "Extra's" Tanika Ray about leaving the movie business for good after the release of his latest film. "I have close to fifty movies and it's like, why am I in the movies?" he said, adding, "I've done that part now. I'll go back to the stage and do standup."

Murphy, 47, said that while a "Beverly Hills Cop 4" flick was in the works, he didn't want to do it, because "the movie wasn't ready to be done."

Murphy said he agreed to do "Cop 3" because of the large fee he was offered. "They said this is how much we're going to pay you. I said, 'let's go shoot it! I don't care if the script ain't right."

As for Eddie's love life, the new bachelor told "Extra" he is currently looking for a woman with "just honesty and some other things." Murphy married Tracey Edmonds on January 1, and they split just 15 days later.

"Meet Dave" will be introduced July 11.

I've never seen Eddie's standup, I've heard of Raw but never felt the need to watch it.
To me, Eddie Murphy is that disgusting actor who does stupid donkey voices and plays EVERY fucking character in horrible "Family" movies.

Do yourself a favor, go back and watch Raw and Deliruous. Not only will you laugh, but it will also be sad when you see how far Eddie Murphy has fallen when it comes to being funny. Its one of the reasons, why I think if he would return to stand-up, it would be a disaster.

Thats exactly what I was going to say, Delirious was the first stand up I ever saw. I watched it over and over and over when I was 8-10 years old but now a days I don't know if he can just jump back in with that stuff.

Same here...and really, looking at Delirious and Raw...I doubt he has the balls to try anything similar anymore. I was going to say that the material isn't there, but it is.....but you have to be ready to be boycotted and sued by every special interest group in existence these days. That takes a set of stones that I don't think he has anymore.

I loved Eddie early on..Shit, I think I have his music CD around here somewhere that I got from the Cbs record club for a penny..I digress. In recent years, he seems to have pandered too much to the white Studio Execs..he lost his edge and he seems like a Stepandfetchit. IMO
