The WWE announced today that they've released performer Trevor Murdoch, a three-time WWE Tag Team Champion, for undisclosed reasons.

Murdoch had spent the last several years in a tag team with Lance Cade, only to see the team abruptly split earlier this year after a match on May 12. Murdoch was drafted to SmackDown in the supplemental section of the 2008 WWE Draft shortly thereafter, but never appeared on the show.

Murdoch last appeared in THQ's Smackdown vs. Raw 2007.

He's actually a lot better than anybody gives him credit for. He's a strong promo and he is more than capable in the ring. Maybe TNA can bring him in and put him in a tag team, and I'd love to see ROH bring him in for a short run just to see him wrestle a bit and put a good character to use.
