"important" seems to be a word Op's been working on - many examples of saying "impor'nt" and then an enunciated "important" correction - almost like someone has given him shit about it... more subtle than some of the other bastardized words, amuses me...

This made me laugh for some reason, sounds like you're defending a retard. But I believe he thinks he understands more things than he actually does. He gets caught almost once a day at this point.
I still like him and understand what he does for the show, but for god's sake some show prep and speech clarity never hurt a radio show.

I used to always send instant feedback making fun of the way he says "interesting" (inner-resting.) When they did their post-show meeting on the air a couple months ago, he said, hey, leave me alone, we're not even really on the air. Since then he has been saying the hard "T" with a little hesitation, but for the most part getting it right. It's a very silly thing, but always makes me laugh. Today he had an interesting way of saying Abu Dhabi.

That's something they don't apologize for. It's an NY thing and the rest of the country is wrong, apparently.

It seems like they were all saying "online" when talking about waiting in line at the queer/apple store. It really bugged me.

My college roommate was from NY and said "on line" and it drove us nuts.
Back to Op - "yesteday". He leaves out the "r"

Recently, Ant's been giving the same "Oh my god, I work with a dummy" titter after every Opie flub. Was going to make a montage, but I gave up after realizing I couldn't care less.

The "on line/in line" thing used to really bug me, but I've learned to accept it. Regular Joe says, "If that's the way they say it over there than more power to 'em."

Recently, Ant's been giving the same "Oh my god, I work with a dummy" titter after every Opie flub.
I started noticing more of that recently. We do, however, have to remember four things about malapropie:
He can't get through two sentences without butchery or stammering-
He will never be the funniest guy in the room-
He freely admits to one and two-
He does all the dirty grunt work so Ant & Yimmy can make the funny.
A circus without a ringmaster is just a disorganized bunch of foreigners and stressed out animals shitting in public. Oh...wait...what?

I think that's what makes him funny. I can also relate to him more of the three since I don't have the quick wit and good pronunciation that Jimmy has.

i really don't complain about Opie's mispronunciations at all, mostly because it normally doesn't bother me, but i also don't want to be "that guy" that the bbboys blow a fuse about and start smashing the message boards again. but every time he's called her "Maggie Gillinhall", i wanted to bite his face. i think he even said "Gary Ullman" today when referring to Gary Oldman. the "buut" stuff i don't mind, that stuff usually just flies past me. but when he butchers people's names, and i mean famous people's names, i get both embarassed and annoyed. it's even worse when he mispronounces a celebrity's name when they're right there in the studio. a small part of me thinks he does it on purpose because he loves to make people cringe.

I love how everyone has no problem jumping down Opie's throat about tripping over words, but no one would ever go near Ron, who constantly does the same thing.
The point is this:
Both these men are geniuses. There is no difference between Ron and Opie. They both carry a show and talk for hours on end each day. This stupid thread went from someone looking for clips into Opie bashing. You're all gay.

Wow does the word genius get thrown around loosely...They both move the show along, but that's where the similarities end. Comparing Ron's occasional misstep to Ole' fumbly tongue is crazy.
And I don't think it turned into a bashfest, it's just funny recounting some of the more absurd ones . Someone should start a Flub of the Day thread, though.
