the guy seemed OK, a little long winded but a good guy. Funny how he can be a one hit wonder and have the number one song in all of the 60's and still be making a living off it. And he is married to miss world sweden or whatever, I didn't think of him as a poofter. He just came across as a guy who only has one song and one story and has told it a million times and makes it sound like reciting a speech.

I didn't mind his time in studio, I thought it was pretty cool of SC to back him for 'Twist'.
I've got the show on the Inno, I'm going to isolate the song and keep it just for the hell of it.

You have to give the guy some credit.
He is out there grinding out a living playing all these gigs, travelling one end of the country to the other.
Doing all the local TV/radio shots and promos to plug his gigs.
A lot of personalities could learn a lot from someone who has turned very little into a long career.
People have a go at Dane Cook but his work ethic is much higher than a lot of comedians who are much more talented than he is.

The guy is a living legend, no doubt about it.
I enjoyed him on the show today. God bless him.
It's not like he led police on a multi-state high-speed chase after beating up his wife, like James Brown for example. I've never heard a bad thing about the dude. I'm glad he's still out there doing his thing.

Tupac & BIG needed to die to even attempt to sell as many records repeatedly as 'ol chubby. That kind of music marketing still works ot some degree. (Linkin Park??) You take one song (or riff/hook whatever) and refine it again & again & again. I personally hate it.
It worked 30 years ago & built his legacy... no way it will ever happen again... or not on his 'level'.
Cover bands are better. I wanna see some dudes fuck up a chubby checker song before I ever see him.

Not that Chubby Checker is the guest of all guests, but it's nice having different guests every once in a while. They fucked with him a little bit, but it was still nice to see they didn't toally run him off the show. Maybe if they are nicer to people that come in, the show can grow instead of people not coming in because they don't want to get goofed on.
Sorry, but you're a cunt.

CHUBBY IS ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVE RECORDING ARTISTS OF ALL TIME! When I met him Friday, he was a real gentleman. He also recorded "Pony Time", another popular dance he started. I have several 45rpms which are more than forty years old and still in good condition. (a 45rpm is a single vinyl disk, for those born after 1980, by the way)He was a great sport when he came on Friday, even after Opie got cringy for a minute there, asking if his hair was real and stuff. Also SC did an amazing job with his song..that lead singer sounds so much like Ozzy, it's scary!

If he hadnt been Jill's special guest i would have to say that he would have caught a savage on-air beating. I was amazed at the restraint they showed. Even though the man is a legend i was still expecting some terrible comments and sound effects. Especially after they played his new song which sounded like it came straight from '84
