sounds like he's paraphrasing Norton's old bit on OCD, but this is serious business, because austism is getting out of control, and influencing people's opinions this way may affect public research funding . this kind of smear and misinformation is much worse than any feelings Imus may have hurt.
"I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, 'Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, idiot.' " -- Michael Savage

This was not the first time that Savage, who holds master’s degrees in medical botany and medical anthropology, and a PhD in “nutritional ethnomedicine”, has shown his ignorance of autism. Last month, Dr. Savage, née Michael Weiner, said “In my day if a kid shot his mouth off in class we wasn’t called autistic, he was called a pain in the neck.” Autism, said Savage, is a racket for poor families to collect disability payments from the government. In Savage’s sad little world, there is no ASD or ADD: “To me, there is only one disease they all have - S.T.U.P.I.D.” The ignorance is not confined to autism - he once said that 99 percent of all depression “is rage turned inside.”
Either Savage skipped class the days his professors talked about “medicine”, or he’s an entertainer who doesn’t care who he hurts. I vote for the latter.
Chances are, Savage knows that autism is a real disorder, with a strong genetic component, and that changes in diagnostic criteria have led to a spike in diagnoses over the last 20 years. But how boring is that? How many of his eight million listeners would sit through 15 minutes of their hero going all Dr. Phil, telling us that autistic children need understanding and accommodation? So much more entertaining to joke about smacking the handicapped.
The need to entertain first, then inform, has long been a favorite subject of media watchdogs and scholars. In Amusing Ourselves to Death, published 20 years ago, Neil Postman showed us how mass media, primarily television, convert otherwise serious conversations into entertainment. Treating autism as entertainment, whether it’s calling the disorder a scam, or peeking into alternative medical clinics to see what some parents do to their kids, preempts serious discussion. Shocking, unverified anecdotes are elevated over dry scientific consensus. Preposterous medical claims are presented for their shock value, with little effort given to refutation. Over time, the public loses its appreciation for serious issues, as once serious issues morph into entertainment.

So the fact that the government does barely anything to help families with autistic kids isn't real either?
I hope this fuck's wife gives birth to Autistic quintuplets. After reading this I would gladly go to jail for kicking this guy's ass on live TV.

Your point has me thinking even the bigger name conservatives will be calling Savage out on this. O'Reilly and Hannity are already at odds with the guy, (not to mention reasonable on issues like this one) so they may as well leap at this gaping hole of a chance to eliminate his audience (and poach from it).

Autism is over-diagnosed by doctors; parents accept it instead of looking for more practical reasons for their childrens behaviour.
Any logically-thinking person knows this is what Weiner meant. It's the way he said it that's the problem. I hope he doesn't apologize and I hope WOR doesn't pull a Moonves by cowardly firing him because of pressure from a tiny special interest group. I actually hope he repeats what he said and tells the Autistics to go screw! But he's already backpeddling and making excuses for what he said.

Autism is hack. If you really want your obnoxious brat to be special, you've got to go with the 'Indigo child' angle...
Indigo children refers to a New Age belief that some children, especially those born after the late 1970s, represent a higher state of human evolution. The term itself is a reference to the belief that such children have an indigo colored aura. Beliefs concerning the exact nature of Indigo children vary, with some believing that they have paranormal abilities such as the ability to read minds, and others that they are distinguished from non-Indigo children merely by more conventional traits such as increased empathy and creativity.
Jenny McCarthy's pain-in-the-balls kid was an "Indigo Child"... until Jenny figured out that the autism gimmick could get her on Oprah, so she went with that. But she eventually got tired of that too, so she "cured" her kid's autism by killing the yeast fungus in his intestines.

I just think no one posting here has any real experience with Autism, Aspergers, or Praeter Willies. When you encounter a kid who is truly affected it's a plain as seeing a cast and knowing he has a broken arm.
These are not made up diseases, they have very real non-psychological symptoms, very different blood chemical levels, and must be treated in very different ways both bio-chemically and psychologically.
The confusion comes because unlike something like Down's where you either have the chromosome or you don't, Autism can manifest anywhere from very light (usually Aspergers is considered very low-impact on the "spectrum) to extremely severe (think Rain Man without all the social and physical acuity, or math skills)
A kid that goes from a 400 word vocabulary to not speaking for the next 20 years is not just "Acting out". This guy's a douche and if Imus can get jacked because Rev. Al has a platform I'd love it if the same legal courtesy could be applied to the parents of kids with a true medical disorder.

Which is why I'm not going to condemn the guy, even though he's clearly trying to be outrageous (or perhaps, I'm refusing to specifically because he's trying to be Mr. Shock Jock here), because I think I get his basic point, which is to slam shitty parents who label their annoying little brat children "autistic" in order to excuse their shitty behavior (which is probably due to shitty parenting). So basically, you want to apply the same flawed system to Savage that was used to get Imus fired and has caused O&A nothing but trouble based solely on the "but if they got rid of Imus they should get rid of him too" logic, rather than just accept that, while stupid and offensive, Savage has a right to say what he wants?
It really doesn't matter if anyone here has experience with Autism and therefore is *more* offended by what he said. I don't see anyone questioning that the guy is a douche and said something stupid. You might get your wish. Some of the parents are calling for his firing. And its not freedom of speech if its HATEFUL SPEECH....
Parents of Autistic Kids Protest Radio Show Host
NEW YORK (AP) -- Radio talk show host Michael Savage, who described 99 percent of children with autism as brats, said Monday he was trying to ``boldly awaken'' parents to his view that many people are being wrongly diagnosed.
Kathleen Maloney Reports
Some parents of autistic children have called for Savage's firing after he described autism as a racket last week. ``In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out,'' Savage said on his radio program last Wednesday.
Savage offered no apology in a message posted Monday on his Web site. He said greedy doctors and drug companies were creating a ``national panic'' by overdiagnosing autism, a mental disorder that inhibits a person's ability to communicate.
On his radio show last week, he said: ``What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, `Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, you idiot.'''
The government estimates about 1 in 150 children have some form of autism. But many experts believe these unsociable behaviors were just about as common 30 or 40 years ago and that the increase is mostly caused by a surge in special education services and a corresponding shift in diagnoses.
Wendy Fournier of the National Autism Association, a parents' advocacy group, said she was invited to speak Monday on Savage's three-hour program by Savage's boss, Mark Masters of Talk Radio Network, which syndicates the show across the country. A spokeswoman from Talk Radio Network did not immediately return a call for comment.
Fournier called Savage's comments ``way, way, way over the line and cruel.''
``I'm hoping to make him see the reality of what these kids are facing,'' she said. ``You can't fix it by telling a kid to shut up. It's like telling a kid with cancer to stop being sick.''
Evelyn Ain, whose 8-year-old son has been diagnosed with autism, said she had never heard of Savage and couldn't believe what she had heard when she first listened to the remarks. She organized a demonstration Monday outside New York's WOR-AM, which broadcasts Savage.
``That isn't just freedom of speech, it is hateful speech when you say 99 percent of children with autism are brats,'' she said. ``I'll tell you, I wish I had a brat.''
Savage, with more than 8 million listeners a week, is talk radio's third most popular personality behind Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, according to Talkers magazine. He's made a living off bold, outrageous statements: His brief MSNBC show was canceled after he told a caller he should ``get AIDS and die, you pig.''
Peter Bell, executive vice president of national advocacy group Autism Speaks, said he isn't aware of any big controversy about overdiagnosis of autism. He said Savage's remarks, effectively blaming parents, reflect an outdated point of view.
``He's an entertainer, he does these things for attention,'' Bell said. ``I think we should, to the best we can, ignore it.''

You actually have a very good point, in that he could have been referring to ADHD, or meaning to and just being too stupid to understand the difference.
ADHD is INCREDIBLY misdiagnosed in this country, and that's another one of those disorders where if you've had any experience with ADHD kids, you really can tell the difference between who's got the disorder, and who's just a bratty kid without any sort of manners.

this statement is so confused I don't even know where to start.
You're implying that Savage did something illegal? Or that Imus was fired over a 'legal issue' rather than his employers just caving in to negative publicity?
Autism has become such a blanket diagnosis that it now covers just about everything relating to child behavioural/learning problems. Meanwhile there isn't even a medical consensus on whether its a genetic disorder or stems from environmental contaminents.
Its become yet another aspect of the PC gravy train. We have reached a point in society where there are no stupid children anymore. A child of below average intelligence is now autistic, and this qualifies the parents to recieve a government check.

If Savage was really discussing misdiagnoses of autism (which is what he said to Glenn Beck just now and what I'm thinking he meant), then that's fine. Of course, it's not like he said it in a sensitive way (ewww, I want him to be sensitive).
On the other hand, if he really meant ADHD and kept going on about autism instead, he is an idiot.

this statement is so confused I don't even know where to start.
Americans are such uninformed idiots.
I have read this whole thread and it makes what this obviously dumb fuck DJ said looks like the rule not the exception.

Bullshit. It was not a news program. It's a right wing nut who is known for saying radical things, saying radical things. It's a goofy guy paid for giving his opinion, and he did. The world is not going to end and Autism is not going to lose all funding. Stop being faggots. It's not even close to yelling fire in a theater anymore than Imus was inciting a race war. It's exaggeration and overreaction. Stop with the phony hyperbole and stop pretending like the brilliant minds of wackbag are the only people who can recognize that this guy is full of shit. People need to chill the fuck out.
First off, just because you have a child who is effected by Autism doesn't make his point any less valid. There ARE many children who are misdiagnosed with Autism. I met the parents of a 12-year-old kid who allegedly has autism, goes to regular school classes with "normal" children and is getting straight A's. And by the way, they get government money. Do you not see the problem here?
Secondly, if you actually think the crap Savage says on the air is anything other than a work you are a rube and should get laughed at. Calm down, he is a shock jock and is getting exactly the response from you he wanted.

he does have a right to say that, but he has a lot of narrow-minded right-wing followers who believe everything he said. so one could make the argument that spreading this kind of misinformation to the masses *about science* is a danger to the public. it goes way beyond hurting people's feelings. this kind of swaying of opinion could affect the progress in funding and research for autism.
remember freedom of speech doesn't give us the right to yell "fire" in a crowded theater.
again, if he was referring to ADHD cases, I might have a different take here.
p.s. Savage was still a gay pedophile who swam naked with ginsberg.
http://www.christianparty.net/michaelsavage.htm
One could also make the argument that O&A, and Imus, have enough people who will blindly follow whatever they say, that calling women "holes" or the Rutgers team "nappy headed hoes" will sway their opinion and set back womens rights and minority rights as well.

Glenn, I know its a sensitive issue for you, but whether you like it or not, it has become the cause celebre lately - and it IS the new Diagnosis of the Decade. If Jenny McCarthys kid can be "cured" of autism by diet and exercise, then he was never autistic to begin with.
YOU have a child with a legitimate problem. A child who, from what you say (and none of us know him so you are the expert on this), went from being a normal, regularly developing child, that you saw regress in front of your eyes and who will likely NEVER be able to lead a "normal" life. And that REALLY sucks.
But far too often nowadays, it seems children who stop talking at the age of 15 months, or 18 months, or whatever, ARE diagnosed as "autistic" or "on the spectrum" - and some of these kids DO start talking again, and lead normal lives - because its all too easy for a doctor to say "yep. Autism" and send a kid for early intervention. Were these kids EVER autistic? Probably not. They probably had a temporary speech regression, but thats not the only cornerstone of autism.
And yeah, these types of comments obviously hurt you and your cause. But being a white male, I don't think you are the right one to decide whether "nappy headed hoes" hurts a black female and her cause. If we are supposed to be careful what we say about autism so we don't accidentally upset someone and their cause, then we need to be just as careful with everything else that is sensitive and possibly hurtful.
Or, we can be jackasses about all of it, man up a little, and not get our feelings hurt by things people say. ;-)

Dear Michael Savage Sponsor or Supporter: We have learned that your company sponsors or supports Michael Savage's radio program.
On a recent program, he attacked children with autism, claiming that autism was a fraud and a scam. He went on to say: "I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is."

We parents and family members of an individual with autism will not tolerate Savage's offensive and unacceptable conduct. We respectfully request that your company withdraws their advertising dollars from his programs and, if you broadcast or syndicate his radio show, that you dismiss him immediately.
Autism affects 1 in 150 children in the USA. Each of those children has a circle of family, friends and supporters who share the concerns of the child. We would say that there are likely 10 people for every child with autism who shares that child's concerns.
When you consider this request, please consider that as many as 1 in 15 Americans will be watching your decision and how you react will have a powerful impact on their opinion of your company.

All he is saying is if you as an individual find those comments offensive or incorrect that there is a way to say so.
There is nothing wrong with an individual complaining. We all have our own personal issues that affect us more than it would others and I have no problem with that. It’s when some ass that is the head of a group with fake membership numbers uses that “power” to threaten sponsors that is disgusting.

As many have already written as long as his statements aren’t slanderous no one is saying he should be fired. But as an individual if you personally find this offensive then I don’t see any problem in complaining. We each have our different lines that we don’t want to be crossed and no one can tell you how you personally should feel about any particular issue. If enough *individuals feel the same then he looses sponsors and goes away.
*The key here is that it is an individual decision and not some group with made-up memberships threatening sponsors. That is the difference between what happened with Imus and an individual complaining about Savage.

Because I wouldn’t go through any organization to register my complaint. I don’t know exactly what that organization stands for and even if I did I might not completely agree with everything they do or are working for.

Ok, from what I have seen on this Autism disease is this. There are many highly functional Autistic kids, or kids that are being labled as Autistic. There are different drugs to control violent behavior. Some work for a while, some make the kids behavior problems, but the violence stops. We have a friend whose kid is so bad that the School he goes to that specializes in this, with 4 adults on him at all times will not let him back unless a parent is with him. Very hard to witness the heartache they are going through. Days away from institutionalizing him, they tried a new drug. Worked for a couple of weeks.
Then there is the kid in my Boys choir. Highly functional, only thing he seems to really love is singing in the boys choir. He had to switch drugs because he was just sitting in his room almost in a depressed state. New drug, new kid, but a harder challenge for me. I only see him an hour or two a week. There are others also. Add, etc...
Seems there are so many that have some issue and are on something.
My point is that I see this Autistic Diagnosis seems to have many extremes.

If Sean Hannity's advice isn't good enough, how about this guy's?
Peter Bell, executive vice president of national advocacy group Autism Speaks, said he isn't aware of any big controversy about overdiagnosis of autism. He said Savage's remarks, effectively blaming parents, reflect an outdated point of view.
"He's an entertainer, he does these things for attention," Bell said. "I think we should, to the best we can, ignore it."

Yea, it was really stupid to say. But instead of trying to get him fired by going after his sponsors.....
I would suggest to his producers that he interview a real autism expert, Doctor, etc and have an open discussion.
Or, it's his radio show and he can say whatever he wants. Non-listeners going after sponsors is really kind of silly.
Now....if I listen to Savage on a regular basis and he says something stupid or offensive to me, I have more standing to go after him than someone who has never heard the show.
Just like all those nig-nogs who got "outraged" at Imus and his sponsors. They don't listen to his show and really don't give a fuck about it.
So will I be as mad as GD because Savage said something stupid? No, but will offer thoughts, prayers, and respect to GD and any parent who has to deal with an autistic child.

Not at all. However, the cause of autism has become perverted into a racket for bilking ssi/disability. doctors diagnose it as if they were giving away halloween candy and there are plenty of parents of otherwise 'normal' kids who keep their mouths shut and take the free money.
Savage's point is that young people entering the workforce are being robbed blind by an entitlement system that they have to pay into but will never see a penny from.
I'm sorry that there are children out there with serious issues. But in the end Savage is right, its not my problem and I shouldn't be forced to pay for it. SSI/Entitlements/Welfare need to be burned to the ground.

While I feel for you GD, It'd be silly not to call out the hypocrisy here.
Were you listening when he said it? If not, then you're just the same as all the people that came out of the woodwork to get Imus fired. Here, we knew it was a throw away, garbage line, on a comedy show. I used to listen to Savage before O&A and he comes from what I would describe as an extreme Louis Black form of comedy where he would go on these hate filled babbling rants that would be so exaggerated it was funny, that is, HIS form of opinionated entertainment. It's all the same shit, nobody has taken Savage seriously in years.
Of course, this one hit too close to home for you, but if you're content on attacking Savage for what he said, then why are you not attacking O&A for their Retard Restaurant bit they did on Friday? To me it's the same thing.
From the "Why Opie and Anthony?" thread:

Americans are such uninformed idiots.
I have read this whole thread and it makes what this obviously dumb fuck DJ said looks like the rule not the exception.
I'm looking for a free SSI check huh?
my son has cost me around 200,000 in gypsy cures,, doctors,,1000's of sleepless nights,, my son has broken my nose three times. If you yell at him for kicking you in the face he punches himself in his.... he will knock his teeth out purposly on a brick wall... hasn't spoke since he was 3 years old ... a mute for ten years. His nose is as flat as a 20 year veteran boxer...,,,,,
his body is covered from head to toe with bruises like he was in a car accident.24 hours a day 7 days a week for ten years from him beating on himself to stop the pain of Autism.
Nappy headed hoes....Who gets hurt really?
Sex in a church? who gets hurt really?
Autism is bullshit? Who gets hurt? Me, my cause, and millions of kids that need assistance from an ill informed public that thinks Al Sharpton is more important.
you that don't understand that not only is Autism... not, bullshit... I would go as far as to say... It is the single most horrible , debilitating thing on the earth.
So... Mayby theres a difference when it comes to things that are harmless free speech....
and things that may cause great harm to an already struggling group of parents no one cares about.:icon_neut
it's really kind of sad people have bigger mouths than brains ,,is a shame the way this country has turned. I blame MTV.
I would like the guy who said this to TRY and live one day in my shoes...He & his big mouth couldn't handle it. You pissed away 200 grand on gypsy cures, yet you reserve your most venomous anger for some attention-whoring dumbass radio hack who never took a nickel from your pocket?
Where the hell is anger for the scammers who sold you the eye of newt for 200 large? Why are you wasting your time and effort railing against some nitwit on the radio when there are quacks out there taking advantage of autism in order to bilk people out of their life savings?
You spent two hundred thousand dollars on a bag of magical autism-curing beans and we're the uninformed idiots?

More common sense from THP.
It can't be said enough, GD, your hypocrisy reigns supreme on this thread. You wouldn't chastise O&A for anything they said because they bring you entertainment, but you vehemently protest this guy's words because the subject matter hit too close to home. And as sniper asked, did you even hear the show where these words were spoken? If not, you resemble Al Sharpton in the way he was against what Imus said.
Sorry we can't all be in your shoes, but even speech that offends us is still protected speech. If this guy gets fired for this, it's bullshit.

If Jenny McCarthys kid can be "cured" of autism by diet and exercise, then he was never autistic to begin with.
This is the problem.
No one has a fucking clue what Autism is or how Jenny McCarthy improved the symptoms of her son's Autism. She did not cure her son, she just says that so fuck stick morons like 90% of the uninformed douches in this thread can understand what the fuck she's saying. You can call her whatever you want, but having an autistic kid grew her the fuck up quick, she went from bimbo to pretty much medically trained on the subject when push came to shove.
The "diet and exercise" (my god that makes you sound so fucking stupid... Not bashing, just being honest) is actually a very real treatment that truly does MASSIVELY improve the symptoms of Autism if done enough (like 8-10 hours a day straight) and you NEVER waiver from it. Only those with the money can afford the 25-30$ an hour for this much treatment, though, and douche bags like this prevent the movement of parents from gaining any meaningful government assistance.
Just FYI, it's not exercise, it's intensive psychological treatment. I dated a girl for a year who was a behavioral modification therapist for Autistic kids and I watched it eat away at her own sanity to the point that she was basically having a nervous breakdown every day and couldn't function her self.
Autism is caused by a genetic predisposition mixed with heavy metal poisoning, so any chemical additive in foods makes them flip. So if you give them ONLY the purest, most basic foods over time it can alleviate the heavy metal contamination in their bodies which reduces the chemical imbalance, and the behavioral modification therapy can get through only as the diet and detoxification help that imbalance.
Statements like "diet and exercise" are as ignorant as saying "If you have cancer go stand in an atom bomb blast". I mean, they both include radiation, right?
The point is this is a fucking massive, serious problem and the morons (all of you) who don't understand why just need to fucking let those of us that do be the talking heads. If you know nothing and it doesn't affect you, stop standing in the way of people who do know and are trying to fix it. You're just as bad as the religious fucks who want to stop nuclear power because they think it's wrong to fuck with God's atoms.

And I guess the big difference between this guy and the O&A/Imus argument is this:
If he'd called Autistic kids waterheads, if he'd said something meaning it to be funny, said their parents smoked too much crack and they came out that way, whatever. Freedom of speech.
To have PhD next to your name and make a statement that a real disease is a falsehood is libelous, and should be very open to civil action.

Voss's Tumor
07-22-2008, 06:40 PM
And yeah, these types of comments obviously hurt you and your cause. But being a white male, I don't think you are the right one to decide whether "nappy headed hoes" hurts a black female and her cause. If we are supposed to be careful what we say about autism so we don't accidentally upset someone and their cause, then we need to be just as careful with everything else that is sensitive and possibly hurtful.
Or, we can be jackasses about all of it, man up a little, and not get our feelings hurt by things people say. ;-)
So having a black woman 4th in line to the Presidency and a black man as the DNC nominee don't prove the "black cause" is basically bullshit?
If this dude's really just a shock jock, if he's doing like a Stephen Colbert thing, then fine. I would expect this and I would think it was funny. I think he's an ill-informed idiot and should be able to be held accountable in Civil court.

He doesn't have this type of power to affect autism AT ALL. It might be offensive, but it should be allowed just the same as O&A's cancer or AIDS jokes should be. The dangers of autism are real, powerful, and life destroying. It deserves to get adressed more thoroughly by the Medical Community, But what this Douche says has no bearing on that now or ever. On 99.99999% of topics I agree with you.
Not Autism.
ADHD = Most of the time bad parenting or lack of easily prescribed medications
Autism = Bad fucking shit that comes from genetic predispositions for certain things (still not quite sure what yet because of douches like this killing public opinion), and heavy metal poisoning from bad vaccines that the FDA allowed to be produced despite evidence of hazard, plus the government pandering to pharmaceutical companies by increasing mandatory vaccination schedules.
It's like, if unemployment is down 30% because the government made internal combustion engines illegal, I wouldn't have a problem with government subsidies to send them to school for alternative energy education so they could find jobs in the new emerging markets. If the government causes it, the government should be allowed to fix it. The problem comes with the government tries to fix shit politicians don't understand.

Michael Savage just popped a massive erection after being granted such amazing levels of power and influence.

Savage is simply a metaphor for media mis-information on the topic and something needs to be done. A law suit would work nicely to send the message.

Good idea... the poor lawyers are starving.
So he offers his opinions in a fact based format?
Open to lawsuit, plain and simple.
Oh really.

Cattle Ranchers can sue Opera for saying she doesn't prefer red meat but Autistic action groups can't sue a man with a PhD for saying the disease is all in their heads?
Come on dude, put your politics aside, you know would make it to court... Probably not jury trial, but it would be heard.

Is his show live today? He has some doctor on the show right now but I can't tell if it's taped or not.
edit-If it is live, he's making a big mistake continuing to talk about it. You said what you meant, now move on, Weiner!

Yeah thats the answer...he said something that someone, somewhere didnt like...FIRE HIM...SUE HIM...KILL HIM.
WTF people, so he said something stupid, Opie says stupid shit on a daily basis, this statement has given more attention to the plight of autistic kids and parents nationwide. Any publicity is good publicity.

Yes, because stupid shit gets heard all the time. An idiot can sue a dry cleaner's for millions of dollars for losing his favorite pair of pants.
Doesn't mean that the case has any sort of prayer of succeeding.
And any case against Savage for these remarks would not.

Of course what he said was ignorant and stupid. But ask someone who actually KNOWs what its like to be autistic. This diverts attention away from the cause over autism. There are many problems facing autistics (and aspies) today. And getting rid of this fat jew isn't going to solve the problem, it only diverts attention away from it.
I would love to debate him on the issue one on one. Because Autism is and always has been REAL. You don't say that AIDS is made up. "Stop fucking the same sex and eat something other than soup." He's ignorant.

Umm, he is a SHOCK JOCK. It is his job to get you rubes upset with what he says. Nappy headed ho's.
Exactly. This is not the first time or last time this douche will say things to make you mention his name. He wins I guess? The only way he looses is if they kick him off the air, then we are right back to the Imus thing.

No, he said something that hurts the cause of 20,000,000 kids and 40,000,000 parents nation wide that's getting none of the true coverage it deserves.
Opie = comedian shock jock (I wonder if he got a chubby because I said he's funny?)
Douche Bag = Posing as a knowledgeable political and science expert and making claims about medical science that are completely false, thus undermining the cause for a REAL problem in America right now, and I mean a fucking HUGE one.

Ehh, your answer sounds more personal/political than legal. I'm not asking if you'd take the case, I'm asking if you know any Robert Shapiro/Johnny Cocheraine types who could win it.

True coverage? Your uninformed sir, Autism awareness is one of the most jumped on causes of the 21st century. More money is being spent now than ever before, Jenny Mcarthy is on front pages with her Autistic child, can Michael Savage really stop the progress of 40 million parents? Wow 1 man can shut up and stunt 40 million...amazing. :icon_roll

Not at all... I just know a jerk when i see one... Ive got better things to do than school you.
the problems in the media go much further than Autism.... If you don't know that... and you live in this country... you aren't real bright... I'll leave it at that.
All the keys on the board and things i could tell you will not change how you percieve things... you are alot like trying to teach a black guy to not litter.
In the imortal words of Richard Dryfus ..
you don't see a problem until it swims up and bites you in the ass.
and to the Lars guy.... are you serious? you are out of your fucking mind... or 18 years old stoopid.

Since you keep going back to this point of argument... I'll quote my own post like a douchebag, since you're acting like you didn't read it.
I like how I answered what kind of jock he was before you even asked your question, but you decided to ignore it because it didn't fit your agenda. He has a masters in social work, and the Ph.D which he's mentioned on the air numerous times (at least back when i listened to him) that he didn't care about any of that anymore since he's on radio.
thus undermining the cause for a REAL problem in America right now, and I mean a fucking HUGE one.
I disagree, the HUGE fucking problem in America is people suing everyone for wittle huwt feewings.
