SummerSlam's Card So far-

Hell in a Cell Match
Edge vs. Undertaker

WWE Championship Match
Triple H (c) vs. The Great Khali

John Cena vs. Batista

ECW Championship Match
Mark Henry (c) vs. Matt Hardy

Minus Khali's match teh card is looking good, plus you add in the inevitable Y2J vs. HBK match and Punk Defending against either JBL or Kane. It's shaping up to be a really good show.

You can add two more matches onto the card.

Santino & Beth vs Kofi and Mickie (Intercontinental and Women's Championship)

Punk vs JBL (World Heavyweight Championship)

The biggest draw of Summerslam so far is Edge vs Taker, which is going to be the absolute best match of the night.

Punk vs. JBL will be alright...Punk should go over
HHH vs. Khali is going to be absolute dogshit. If HHH manages to make it entertaining or even a 2 star match, he truly is Jesus in tights. Clearly HHH wins
Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy....Henry wins, but Hardy does his damnedest to make it not suck
Santino & Beth vs. Kofi & Mickie will be pretty good...definitely entertaining. I would hope Kofi & Mickie win, but I wouldn't be shocked if they put the switch on.
Edge vs. 'Taker in Hell in a Cell will be good, going to be interesting to see how Vickie gets people to interfere on 'Taker's behalf...or at least to fuck up Edge

if they have Y2J vs. HBK, that would be sweet, but as of right now, all they're doing is having "Shawn Michaels' announcement" about his future. Booooo

Taker/Edge has the potential to be great, especially with the comparing it to Mick Foley thing, and the fact that Edge is a fucking maniac and you know he is gonna take a major bump in this match.

Hope Santino & Beth win with Beth suffering an "injury" that sidelines her for a month or two.

Santino would have a great run as the women's champ. The promos alone would rock the fat ass.

No doubt in my mind:

Santino/Beth win, then feud over who is the IC Champ and who is the Women's Champ.

I too get the feeling Santino and Beth will win. The hilarity which ensues should be entertaining.

Add

Jeff Hardy vs MVP to the Summerslam card. This one definitely has potential, especially if MVP wins due to Jeff's recklessness. It gives a new aspect to Jeff's character and his in ring style. They probably won't do it, but I would like to see it.

What is the deal with the HBK vs Jericho match? Are they going to do it or not? They are teasing the retirement angle from Michaels, but JR said Shawn will announce his decision at Summerslam. Does that mean we don't get a match?

I think its just going to be an annoucement and I seriously think it could go either way. There was just something about the way Micheals looked on Raw, that tells me he could be retiring.

When it comes to Shawn, i would like to see Y2J vs. HBK at SummerSlam because as we have seen before, they can put on one hell of a match.
But there is a part of me that wants him to retire, because i just dont want to see him get seriously hurt or something. He is an amazing performer and in my book at least the best ever, tied with Ric Flair, when it comes to the best in professional wrestling.

I would love to see another HBK match but if he wants to retire then its fine with me.

As for Beth and Santino match, i think that they will win the match. I dont think that they would have Santino feud with Beth for the Womens belt, although it would make for great TV, because if they did that it would ruin the legitimacy of the belt and the people who have held it in prior years.

The Hell in the Cell match is going to be great. I have really high expectations for that match and also i am really looking forward to it. Though it does suck that Edge is going to have to lose though. Hopefully the match itself will make up for that fact, which i think it will.

Also if Y2J and HBK are not going to be fighting at SummerSlam, then they should have made the title match a triple threat. But them not making it a triple threat leads me to believe that there will be a Y2J vs. HBK match, some type of altercation or something along those lines.

I recall the cruiserweight division centering around him. Ladies and gentlemen the Vice Russo Era!

If it's in Wikipedia, it must be true.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Ferrara

World Championship Wrestling
He admittedly had a very turbulent time at WCW. He began his stint with Russo there in October of 1999, and they placed themselves upon the onscreen product of WCW. They migrated their style of writing from the WWF. Matches were shorter in length, speaking segments both inside and outside the ring were more prominent and a far greater emphasis was made in pushing midcard wrestlers to the point that everyone on the card had a gimmick and/or storyline. Successful products of their initial tenure at WCW included Screamin' Norman Smiley, 3 Count, the re-invention of The Outsiders, The Mamalukes, 'Psycho' David Flair, The Revolution, The Filthy Animals, Chris Benoit's Main Event Push, among others. However there were some storylines which did not necessarily go over with fans the way they wished including the infamous Buzzkill, The Maestro, Buff Bagwell, Oklahoma and Madusa winning the Cruiserweight title.

In 1999 in WCW, he took the onscreen name of Oklahoma and began copying WWF announcer Jim Ross, and also mimicking his Bell's Palsy. He had previously done an impersonation of Ross in the WWF during an angle with Tiger Ali Singh where he was called from the audience as a fan and did his Ross impression. Jim Cornette would later spit in his face and challenge him to a fight for making fun of his long time friend, Jim Ross. He defeated Madusa for the Cruiserweight Title. The character was considered by most as distasteful and nothing more than a means for Russo and Ferrara to put their own grievances on the air. Ross has since reconciled with Ferrara following an open letter to him.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't know who Harvey Whippleman is?

Oh wait, I forgot. You're 10 years old. You weren't around back in 1991 and 1992 when he was big.

Harvey Whippleman was the biggest loser in WWF history. He came in as Big Bully Bustick's manager, then Big Bully Bustick left like 2 weeks later, so he started managing other people. He managed Sid Justice, Well Dunn, Adam Bomb, Kwang, The Warlord, Kamala, The Giant Gonzalez, Mr. Hughes, and Bertha Faye, who he wound up falling in love with.

Then, they all left, but he stayed, so WWF President Gorilla Monsoon made him a referee. He wasn't a referee for long, though, cause Gorilla Monsoon wound up getting really sick, and Sgt. Slaughter became comissioner, so Vince offered him a job backstage, and that's where he works now.

He also wound up winning the women's championship on Smackdown (or was it Raw? I can't remember) in a snowjilly match or a snowbunny match or a snowjill match (I can't remember) when he came out in drag and beat miss kitty or the cat or whatever her name was back then (I think that's who he beat) and was presented the title by Mae Young and the Fabulous Moolah, who were special guest referees.

I was thinking about the CM Punks match last night and i was reading JR's Blog and i came to the conclusion which is kind of obvious by now.

If Punk does not go over cleanly, when and if he wins, if it is not a good showing by him and if its a Cena type match where JBL has the offense the whole match but then Punk hits the GTS out of nowhere. It will just make Punk look bad and i think his reign will be over soon after that . But if punk goes over cleanly and he proves himself, he keeps it.

that being said, i think punk retains the belt.

More predictions later. lol

From JR's Blog regarding HBK at SummerSlam-
I have no idea what HBK is going to tell us Sunday at Summerslam but I hope it is that he is staying active at least on a part time basis. The WWE and the wrestling business needs Shawn Michaels more than HBK needs to wrestle. Shawn makes everyone around him better and is still the best in the business for my money especially when it comes to performing in a major match.

Kind of a back ended statement their. In place he says, he doesnt know what he's going to do, then he says "I hope it is that he is staying active at lest on a part time basis" and so on.

I honestly think that HBK is going to retire this Sunday. Which will be sad. If he does in fact retire, i hope they hold a ceremony like they did for Flair on Raw, or something along those lines. If they do commemorate HBK like they did Flair, i might have to postpone my trip to the cape, and leave Tuesday Morning lol.

That being said...who knows it all could be a work.
The rest of JR's Blog-

predictions:

CM Punk vs JBL-CM Punk. He has to win or any hope of the WWE pushing new talent goes right out the window. Plus like I stated before, I think JBL is headed back to the broadcast booth.

Triple H vs the Great Khali-Triple H. Hopefully this will be the last main event match featuring Khali.

Cena vs Batista- Cena wins round 1. I really think this a feud that is going to on for a few months.

Matt Hardy vs Mark Henry-Matt Hardy. It justifies him not only losing the US title but being drafted to ECW in the first place.

Jeff Hardy vs MVP-Jeff Hardy.

Santino/Phoenix vs James/Kingston-Santino/Phoenix. This way we get some entertainment on Raw.

Edge vs The Undertaker-The Undertaker. Not only the match of the night, but a probably a candidate for match of the year. There will be fire involved somehow.

Micheal's annoucement-I think it could go either way. If he doesn't retire, I see what Jimmy's Dignity said happening. Ending with a HIC match at Survivor Series.

HHH vs. Great Khali...HHH wins, Khali hopefully fades into obscurity
Cena vs. Batista...I'm with Stormrider, Cena takes this one and the feud begins in depth. I bet they try to turn Batista heel
Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy...should be Hardy, but I could see Mark Henry going over due to a little help from Tony Atlas
Jeff Hardy vs. MVP...MVP wins, elevates himself into the World title picture
Santino & the Glamazon vs Mickie James & Kofi Kingston...Santino gets pinned by Mickie
Edge vs. Undertaker...Taker goes over in an amazing match
HBK's announcement...he wants to retire, Jericho doesn't let him, drags him into a fight...big gimmick blowoff match at Survivor Series. Either an I Quit, an Ironman, or a retirement match

Just ordered this. Set my DVR to record it. I'm fucking tired and will be in bed in about an hour. This will the first WWE PPV since Backlash (not bad) and this year's Royal Rumble (fucking awful). Bought it for:

1.) The HBK announcement ( don't wanna take a chance he will retire tonight. I fucking doubt it though. Hope not he is my favorite).
2.) Edge vs. Undertaker Hell in a Cell
3.) I want to see if CM Punk will get to keep his title or if this really was a place holder champion.
4.) MVP vs. Jeff Hardy "could" be really good
5.) Cena vs. Batista. Could be kinda fun.

Thing's I'm indifferent about:
1.) Winner Takes All Tag Match. Wouldn't mind the women fighting the women and Kofi vs. Santino but enough with these damn intergender matches.
2.) Could careless about Mark Henry and Matt Hardy. Doubt these two will compliment each other well.

The thing that almost swayed me from buying this PPV:
HHH VS THE GREAT KHALI??? Ugh, this will be a disaster. That fucking giant wig wog can barely walk. I hope his stiff legs snap mid match. This will be an awkward match. It was a disaster watching the fight in the ring with HHH and Khali on friday night. It will only get much worse tonight.

Yep. I had heard they want to get as much out of him now because they know he has very little ring time left. Oh no, could that mean one more legendary title reign could be in store for Khali? I doubt it.

Apparently, the WWE thinks he didn't follow the rehab on his knees to the tee like he should have. His knees, they think, should be in much better shape than they are. Then again he is a fucking giant and their bodies always shut down earlier than normal people. It doesn't help matters that he has been lumbering around the ring putting weight on those knees for several years now. Not only will this match suck but I swear there has been NO push for this match.

HHH being on Smackdown is the oddest thing. it's like he's not there and not important and he's the fucking champ.

I kind of like how he has blended into the background on Smackdown. It gave a chance for the Edge/Undertaker feud to continue and give us those great Edge promos. Now it will be interesting see what happens on Smackdown, after tonight and who will be the next person to face Triple H for the title.

I laugh at it, cause when he was doin the DX Redux, the title was secondary to that plot-line...turnabout's fair play I guess

My Predictions-
Undertaker def. Edge- I have high expectations and i think that this match will live up to them. This will be a epic match and i expect some big spot because they would have Edge build up to that this match, they way he did and then have him lose with nothing really to show. I expect a big spot in this one. This match will be amazing. I have really gotten excited for this match. I havent felt this way about a match in a long time.

HHH def. Kahli- Who cares, this will only prove how good of a worker HHH because he has to make Kahli look good. But HHH will keep it interesting.

CM Punk def. JBL- He has to win. Also i think its about time he gets a good win under his belt as champion. I hope Punk has a really great match and finally silences his critics. That would be great.

Santino and Beth def. Kofi and Mickie- ITs all about the ratings these days and Santino fighting Beth for the womens belt will draw. Also him as intercontinental Champ will draw.

Cena def. Batista- It wont be a clean win, because that will make Batista look bad, there has to be some type of interference or something along those lines. This is the first of many rounds, when it comes to this rivalry. Batista finally establishes his heel turn and Cena goes over for the win. It should be entertaining and i am looking forward to this match.

Hardy def. Henry. I would like to see Hardy win his first major title. But im hoping that its not the ECW title. A wins a win though and a major title is a major title. But i could also see Henry winning via DQ because of Tony

Jeff Hardy def. MVP- It just seems like he will win this one. Also i think that their might be some big spot in this one, to counter what MVP has been saying about his recklessness. Also their is a rumor that Jeff Hardy is hurt? Any Truth to that or some more details?

HBK's announcement- I really dont know about this. For some reason i think that HBK is really hanging up the boots. Just the way he delivered his promo that monday night. Something just seemed different. But who knows.
I totally agree with JD about the Jericho and a final match at Survivor Series.
That would be great, and i would also have to get tickets to the event then. haha

All in All its looking like its going to be a really great PPV. There is no match on this card that is bad in my mind. I havent felt this way about a PPV, or some of the matches in a long time. I am excited for this one. Hopefully it wont be a let down.

Every time I hear how many times someone's held a belt, I think back to Mancow (yeah, I know). He had Bret Hart in studio promoting a book or some shit, and he was being a cocky prick (Hart), and his reasoning was "I was a howevermany-time champion, I can be a dick"

Right up until Man-douche mentioned "Yeah, you were a champion that many times because that's what the scriptwriters wanted at the time"

Fairly uncomfortable, but a good point.

I agree that this has the potential of being that good. But not par with that match. That match was truly something that will never be seen again.

Edge has done an AMAZING! job promoing this match. He basically did it all by himself because this is the first time Taker has been back. So Edge has drawn all of the Hype around this match. My hats go off to Edge, he has made it.

i agree with you. I dont hate taker but his whole gimmick has run its course. Also It bothered me how he made Edge Job to him, when Edge had to carry this feud. If taker is in the main event for the title at WM25 then im done with taker and i will be sick of him. I hold taker higher then HHH when it comes to this stuff. Shit. Eddie was the other one I forgot in the long lines of wrestlers dying that he won't come out and acknowledge.

Things may get bad for Internet wrestling fans before long. We're either looking at a Cena-Batista rematch at Survivor Series with the rubberneck matchup at WM25...or they're setting up WM25 for a Cena-Taker match where Taker finally gives up the streak.

And I actually want to see that just to hear the collective moan of Net fans across the country! But my only concern for WM25 is seeing Savage in the HOF so I don't give a shit what the actual matches are.

I used to think that way, but HHH really did change in the last few years. He actually HAS put people over (Benoit, Batista, Cena) and doesn't COMPLETELY dominate television like he used to.

But Taker hasn't really put anyone over CLEANLY in........many, many, MANY years. Since probably the "Attitude" era. Taker comes out on top in every feud he's in and usually dominates every feud he's in, and his opponent usually gets zero benefit from it.

Like I said, Taker is maybe the biggest mark for himself in the business. Sadly, the second biggest Taker mark appears to be Vince, which is why this shit continues.

Second, Taker kicks ass. I love him. He's been my favorite wrestler since 1991 when he first beat Hulk Hogan for the title, and I doubt he'll ever give up the streak.
