There is a Weezer concert there in Sept and I'm wondering how bad the area is.. I know Camden is full of savages, just not sure if I can get there safely and return home with my asshole and white wife still intact.

You'll be fine. Just make sure your windows are up and doors are locked while you are driving through the neighborhood going to/from the venue. Also, do not stop for any reason. :)

What I would do is:

1) Take the ferry over from Penn's Landing

or

2) Take the River Line train. You can park in a safer area, and take the train. There are several stops betweeen Trenton and Camden. I think it only costs $1 per person.

When I first moved here (Lancaster) I had an interview in Philly, it was dark when the interview ended and I accidentally crossed into Camden. The roads are divided by concrete planters in some areas, I came up to a red light, a cop pulled up next to me with his lights on and said " You must be lost, turn around in 2 blocks, dont stop at red lights and go home."

I said "Run the redlight? Are you sure?"

Response..."Do what you want...we dont stop. Have a good night"

well if you go down there, make sure you're up to date on your hat payments or else you'll be getting a visit.

Thanks all.. kind of what I figured.

Sinn - I may do the Penn's landing thing.. arent there bars and restaurants around there? may be a good place to hang before the show.

Glenn - the hat line was brilliant

Yup, South St is just on the other side of 95.

They really keep the most direct ways to and from the venue on lock down so you can't get off course and wander into the savage lands of Camden.
