President Bush announced Tuesday that he will keep the U.S. force strength in Iraq largely intact until the next president takes over, drawing rebukes from Democrats who want the war ended and a bigger boost of troops in troubled Afghanistan.

Fuck both places. Give these kids a fucking break already and send them home. The only people who want them in either place are cowards who don't have children in the service. The war has been over for years. Let Iraq police itself and let these contractors pay for their own protection.

Even if President Bush ordered a drawdown of troop numbers now, it would be well into the next President's term before any real number of them were ready to leave. You don't just pull units out of a combat zone and say "ok boys pack your rucks we're heading home tomorrow." There has to be a plan in place and a transition to Iraqi forces, as we've seen in Anbar. The more of that type of stuff that happens, and the closer 2011 draws near, the more and more troops will be able to leave.

This may be the most ignorant thing I've heard all day. People like you make people like Pol Pot possible.

Besides the logistics of packing up 145000 troops, you don't just abandon a mission. These kids take pride in their work and should be permitted to actually win this time. We're almost done. Quitting now would Be disastrous.

As long as we are out by 2011 as the democratically elected Iraqi government has asked.

You follow calling me ignorant with that ball of stupidity? Win what? Abandon what? Iraq should be dealing with it's own problems. We've been there way too Long. The insurgants aren't there to destroy the country, they're there to kill Americans. Remove the Americans and the insurgants will move on to whatever their next hateful agenda is. BTW Pol Pot wasn't entirely my fault.
