meh, seen 'em before. On consecutive tours, they used the same stage props but in a different way. They had big clear hamster tubes on stage that the band rose up from, Spinal Tap style. Next tour, same fucking tubes.. .the cannon rose up in a tube mid-show during "For Those About to Rock"...
The songs are all the same anyway, so why not the stage show.
Edit: on second thought, perhaps it was the bell... during "Hell's Bells". But what's the difference?

AC/DC's my absolute favorite act, but anyone that's on their websites mailing will tell you, they have a bunch of lame people making decisions for them. They handle the music and that's about it. They're a brand name now and they've had a huge merchandise explosion - there's no doubt in my mind that they are getting ripped off by their own people. Do you really think Angus Young is signing off on the black hoody with the pink AC/DC logos all over it?
Still, I saw them on the last tour in 2000 and they tore it up. They are worth seeing.

Does that explain why their music isn't on Itunes. AC/DC is one of two bands that is on my to see list. However, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to see them this time around and hopefully it is not a retirement tour.

From what I know Malcolm handles just about every aspect of the business end of the band. When it comes to licensing of products, the CEO of the corp will just sign off on the products and cash the checks whether the stuff sells or not - looks like Malcolm has been learning from Gene $immon$.

Whoever is making the decisions seems a bit out of touch and, as much as I love AC/DC, those guys have been out of loop of pop culture for some time - that's one of the reasons why I love them.
Still, AC/DC has never tried to bleed their fans the way KISS has and even if they started trying today, they'd never catch up. I can't recall them ever pulling that $500.00 ticket crap that The Who does. Last tour, I saw them at Continental Airlines Arena in NJ. My seats were in the lower section in the middle, to the side of the stage - Pretty much level with the platform that Angus comes out on during his solo ("Let There Be Rock" that tour). Anyway, the ticket through TicketMaster couldn't have been more than $50.00.
Does that explain why their music isn't on Itunes.I have no idea why. I've heard Bill Burr complain about the same thing.

Does that explain why their music isn't on Itunes.
They're selling the new album exclusively through WalMart, Sam's Club, and the band's web page.
As far as their back catalog goes:
The back catalogue has been carefully managed to ensure maximum profitability. Unlike most 35-year-old bands, the company has not released a “best of” album, which can often stunt sales of past albums.
AC/DC has also refused to put its songs on Apple’s iTunes stores, instead selling its music online through Verizon’s music store. But the catch is that fans can only purchase full albums, not singles.

I know about Black Ice being relesased through Walmart, but it bugs me that their back catalogue isn't available through the Itunes.
Edit: After reading the rest of your previous post.
I wouldn't mind buying full albums, because Aerosmith does the same thing on Itunes. I can always keep the songs I don't like on my computer instead of putting them on my Ipod.

Brian Johnson is like 60 now, I can't see him being able to sing much longer. Last time I saw them was on the Stiff Upper Lip tour - their last tour in the US other than a couple of club dates, and even then I felt his voice was weak.
I have a feeling this will be the end for AC/DC, so they are going to make this tour count. Verizon paid them a ton of money, and Wal-Marts initial order for the new album is 3 million. I think once the Verizon contract expires AC/DC will be available on iTunes.

My cousin was going to order 5 tickets today right at 10:00 am, well just after 10:00 he calls me and says he can only order 4 at a time, so for me to order 2 and he'll order 3. Well I got two, and by the time he sent his order of 3 in, they were sold out - about 10:15. The 2 I got suck ass - not nosebleeds, but pretty close.

AC/DC for Rock Band in November - looks like its just the live album from the 90's
of course its a Wal-Mart exclusive.
I wonder if family friendly Wal-Mart that sells cigarettes, knows what AC/DC stands for? At least what a bunch of religious nuts think it stands for.

I was a but surprised by the price of tickets but still determined to go. I was on Ticketmaster the day they went on sale and my first search showed awful upper level seats. I released those and the next search said no tickets found. Must have sold out in 10 minutes. Im surprised they didn't do more dates in each city with that kind of demand.
Anyway, a stadium tour would be great! Hope that gets sorted out in the end.

True, but for a tour with this kind of demand I'd be willing to bet if they tiered the prices the back would still be close to $90 (I'd guess $75 at the least) and the floor as well as the lower level would be $150+.

I got it on Monday (already sold it on eBay for more than it cost at Wal-Mart!) copied it to my iTunes. Given it a couple of listens. Its okay nothing stands out. Basically just generic AC/DC songs. Hopefully they won't play that many songs from it during the tour - I'm going to Columbus and Cincinnati.
The local Wal-Mart had tons of AC/DC merchandise and Wal-Mart will be selling the AC/DC Rock Band exclusively.
I remember a time when AC/DC was considered satanic and now Wal-Mart loves AC/DC.

The copy I had was in a back cardboard "jewel box" there are 15 songs on it
what is the difference?
It'll be a weak set list with 5 songs from this album
my wal-mart had the regular cardboard folder edition and there were also a yellow and white edition, the only difference is the color of the ac/dc logo i think.

Just got back from the Columbus show - the arena at Ohio State was packed.
They sounded alright, Brian Johnson sounded a lot better than I expected he would.
They played to many songs off the new album, so no Money Talks, Live Wire, Who Made Who. At least no songs were played off Ballbreaker or Stiff Upper Lip.
I was hoping they were going to play What's Next to the Moon since they played it a couple of years ago at Roseland.

Just got back from the concert in Cincinnati.
Same set list as in November.
This concert was much more enjoyable than in Columbus, I had an isle seat, so I had room this time. Much louder, haven't been to a concert this loud in probably 15 years.
Took almost an hour to get out of the parking garage and then it snowed on the way back.
My brother left before the encore - although I'm still surprised he even went in the first place.

I would've preferred to see them back in the day, but I would've liked to have gone anyway, since I've never actually gotten to see them live.

Saw them at MSG in November in NYC. I'm not a fan (went for my boyfriend) but they did put on a great show!! I liked Angus' strip tease :)

I'm putting this question here since I don't know where else to put it. After buying the black ice album and listening to it I noticed that there was sound glitch on track 11 "She Likes Rock N Roll" at around the 33 second mark, it's hard to hear at first but after careful listening it sounds like a pop or hiccup. I went and downloaded the song from different websites and they all have the same problem. I was wondering if anybody else has this problem or if was just an issue with a couple of the pressings?

I've gotta be there for one of these. AC/DC is one of the few bands that I've always wanted to see but haven't gotten a chance to. I'm just curious how badly they're going to **** us on ticket prices.
**EDIT** And look at that, brokers ALREADY have tickets for sale. Really fair system we've got here...

giants stadium though, around 80,000 tix, u would think they would have to be a little cheaper then the arena shows.
this summer/fall is gonna be rough on the wallet.....ac/dc, priest/whitesnake/anvil, metallica, gnr/van halen

Looks like they're around $100 across the board before any "convenience fees." While I think that's too much for a mid level seats at a stadium show, I'll make an exception for AC/DC since I may never get a chance to see them again.

Oddly enough, the Giants Stadium public on sale is the same time as the fan club on sale. Also, the tickets are $89.50 rather than the 95.50 I was expecting, which is good. It says the first 15 rows are will call only, which is at least a step towards getting average fans in the best seats.
Anyway, I've never been to a stadium show with seats on the field. Does it just become better to get lower level seats rather than field seats after the first 20 rows or so? I can't imagine the view is any good. Just looking for opinions.

ive never seen seats on the field either but the concerts ive been to there i had lower level seats but ur over 100 yards away from the stage. If you want closer to the stage ur facing across the field and not the stage so idk, field might be the way to go

Really? I was on right at the onsale and I'm way in the back of section 112. Fucking lame. Plus, if you got the $40 membership to acdc.com with it, you get way better tix. Of course I figured that out after dropping $200+ for the mediocre tickets that I originally got.

fuck the $40 membership fee, i hate that shit. Had i not pulled that ticket (w/o any membership fee) i wouldn't have gone. And it's s sign of Ticketmaster's fucked up system, i bought tickets for metallica first, got ok ones, and then i went for ac/dc and pulled that one, never got a ticket like that online.

Going for a single usually gets you a good seat. Honestly, I'm just excited to finally be seeing AC/DC, and the back of section 112 is still better than the front of 312. :rockon":rockon"

So they went and announced a date less than 20 miles from my house, rather than the 150+ mile trek down to Giants Stadium that I already have planned.
I'm considering selling my Giants Stadium tickets at face value. Anyone interested, PM me. Two tickets, Section 112.

So I got row E seats 3 & 4, right up front and next to the catwalk in Albany, so now I'm insanely pumped for this show.
Again, anyone that wants two tickets to the Giants Stadium show on 7/31 at face value, send me a PM.

The video looks great but sounds like shit. I think part of it is the mic on your camera, but Brian is straining for sure. Angus sounds good, but his hair (or whats left of it) may need some help. Maybe Ant could give him some pointers.

Yep its the mic, it can take sounds so overwhelmingly loud. But it's meant to be a point and shoot, so i can't complain. You are also right about Brian, he was definitely struggling during highway to hell and for those about to rock.

Saw them in Albany last night. Amazing show, despite the fact that the guy behind us PISSED on mine and my girl's seats. I didn't even notice until security was taking him out and the people two rows behind us told us what he did. So I spent most of the show standing in a puddle of urine, but there was nothing that was going to get me to leave those 5th row seats. Makes for a funny story.
