I might go. I know that Trey can be an ass, but I secretly love them. Plus, all of my buddies are so amped. Even if it is for three dates. So, I dunno.

I might take the trek to this one. I have a feeling though, when phish see's how much money this is going to to produce they'll go on tour. This show is going to have people coming from everywhere.

No offense to your friends, but how would they know if he's "hopped up on pills" seeing him walking around from a distance?
I'm sure he's not walking around by himself running into street signs and spinning around in the streets...
The shows he did in August and the show from July at Rothbury sounded really good. His voice sounds better, he was playing better, and he's seemed pretty together when he's played with Phil Lesh lately as well. I have to assume he's "clean" until proven otherwise.
Seems like he'd have had to be somewhat clean from April 2007-July 2008 due to his random testing Plea anyways.

Oh, and they already announced that there will be a tour.
I wasn't even talking about Trey being out of it on stage, just the production of the event itself was terrible. It was their 'farewell' show, and they didn't account the traffic it would produce in VT?
I remember being in standstill traffic for the first 48 hours we got there i just set up the grill in the middle of the highway and said fuck it.
Still a phish show in the middle of a jam is an experience like no other.. makes me almost want to go to this. Maybe they'll actually play Fluff head live this time.

I had a friend who went to UVM and worked at a vegan food shoppe. He said that Trey came in looking all fucked up and he asked for something that the shop couldn't make. And then Trey got really pissy and went "Hey, do you even know who I am?" And then left in anger.

He Bros, Sorrority Skanks, I remember it in well High School. Seeing them at SPAC in 2001. Nothing has changed. Hard toting jocks/preppies thinking that they know everything about DMB. Dave knows like three chords, while the real band members never got the credit that they deserved. I almost gurrantee that those kids don't even know who LeRoi Moore was or that he had just died.

I saw DMB at SPAC 3 times in the late 90's. Each time it got progressively worse to the point where I never even saw the stage the third time. Any show of that size at SPAC is always a nightmare on the lawn. Add in the douche DMB fans and it's Hell on Earth. You couldn't pay me to go see them again.

I'll be honest, I was gonna try to snag a pair to ebay, but totally forgot until seeing this thread this morning. No big deal.
That being said, I've always defended ticketmaster. I've always said that it's expensive but they supply a service that you really can't beat. Sure, the text that's generated by their CAPTCHA software is barely legible and has screwed me out of getting better seats in the past, but it's necisary to try to weed out the people buying in bulk just to scalp.
However, when checking out the Phish ticket situation a few minutes ago on ticketmaster.com I saw something that really got my blood boiling. They are now FUCKING PARTNERS with a ticket broker, Tickets Now. The show is sold out and they direct you straight to their ticket broker company to charge you 10x what the tickets were meant to be sold at. That is fucking BULLSHIT! It's like the venue having an advertised business with the scalpers on the street. It's fucking insane to me that any venue or artist with any pull would tolerate that.
The largest arena in my area recently switched from ticketmaster to tickets.com as their distributor, though, so there are other options out there.

A heads up for Phish fans, the Hampton Run is this Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
More importantly, they're giving away the Soundboards for all 3 shows for free.
In celebration of Phish's first shows in over four years, we're thrilled to be able to offer fans free, high-quality downloads of the band's sold-out March 6th, 7th and 8th concerts at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia at LivePhish.com.
Each show will be professionally multitracked and mixed onsite and within 24 hours, 256kbps MP3s will be made available for free for a limited time at LivePhish.com. Fans who wish to download higher quality versions may purchase FLAC downloads. The shows will also be available on CD. Both are available for pre-order now. You can register at LivePhish.com to receive an email when the free MP3s are available for download.

Phish asks judge to reel in bootleggers in Va.*
March 4, 2009 - 11:21am
(AP) By LARRY O'DELL
Associated Press Writer
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The rock band Phish is asking a federal judge to block the sale of bootlegged merchandise at its upcoming concerts in Hampton.
A hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Newport News on the band's request for an injunction that would bar the sale of unauthorized T-shirts, posters and other items bearing the Phish name. The band, which broke up in 2004, is starting a reunion tour Friday with the first of three concerts at Hampton Coliseum.
Phish says in court papers that it's had trouble with bootleggers in the past. The band wants police to seize any unlicensed Phish merchandise being sold near the coliseum. Phish also is seeking unspecified damages against the unidentified defendants.

Hampton has a few things going for it: It's indoors, has general admission, really good acoustics for being indoors, the lot "scene" is pretty cool. They've said that it's pretty much their favorite place to play, especially Trey.
And there have been a lot of "Epic" shows there.

i was there all 3 nights and yes, the YEM botch was 100% intentional.
it was funny as hell too, cuz i was 3rd row on the floor directly in front of Fishman and the 2.5 hits of sugarcubes we took kind of skewed our ability to tell that it was a joke right away. we eventually figured it out and got a coupla laughs over it.
but yeah, they're still fuckin with your head.

Deer Creek and Alpine Valley were sick. I've got some videos I'll post up after Vimeo allows me to upload my last vid. For whatever reason, Youtube killed the sound quality when I uploaded there.
First night at Alpine they went straight into NICU from YEM without a vocal jam...it was a really weak YEM. Second night they closed the show with a Frankenstein encore. Trey was on a 6 necked guitar, Page on they keytar, and Mike's bass had a flame cut/paint pattern.
I also brought my dad for a little father/son bonding weekend. He's a fiend for Phish now. It's about all we've talked about since we got back.

They knocked down several more states within the past day or so. Midwest is slowly being eliminated.
All the big states still remain: California, Florida, New York, Texas, Nevada(Vegas would be awesome), and Vermont.
I've heard the Coachella rumor as well. Also Big Cypress. I really hope they bring it to the east coast.

Well.
Southern Cali is looking like where it is. Empire Polo Club, Indio, CA. Good call, Absolutely.
Tickets go on sale this upcoming Monday. "$199 + $1 WaterWheel Donation + applicable service fees. Includes entry for all 3 days into the event area. All vehicles entering the Car Camping area must also purchase a $15 Vehicle Pass. Limited Car Camping available."(Expensive as shit).
I think flying AND driving will both be a bitch. ~$400(2 people) for event tix+~400 round trip plane(2 people) tix+rental car. OR face a 25 hour/1700 mile drive...which would be a bit rough to make, even if it were cheaper. That'd be 4 extra days I'd have to ask off work, plus hotel shit.
No way in fuck I'll be able to make that fest. This would be well over a thousand dollars to make it. Guess I better start trying to find another Halloween show elsewhere.

I went and the set was as bad as it looks....worst Phish show I've ever seen. I've had one of the 2 sets in a night be so-so in the past but never had both of them blow. I looked at the setlists for the night before and the night after and it made me even more pissed. I was mostly going for nostalgia's sake to go to one more show with the same group of people I went to all the Phish shows with pre-hiatus, but I'm done with the band now.
By the way, the cops were INSANE in the lot. A van 2 spots over from us in the lot got swooped down on within an hour of us getting there. At least ten cops were there at one point. Hauled away three people in cuffs and searched the entire van. Both uniform and undercover guys roaming the lot constantly. Here's a tip for the undercover guys....if you get hot, maybe you should consider not taking off your shirt and making it clearly obvious you're sporting a gun on your hip. :action-sm

I was at the NYE run in Miami last time, had a blast. Best sounding arena I've been in too.

Covered the entire Exile on Main St. by the Stones for Halloween.
Wish I could be listening on Jam On, but for whatever reason my unit in my boombox doesn't pick it up and my Inno sucks ass unless it's docked.
Guess I'll just buy the entire mp3 set when it's released this week.
