New Chris Cornell Album "Scream" Produced by Timbaland

I can't say as that i like it too much. One one hand it is cool when any artist tries to reinvent his or her self but on the other hand, my initial assessment is that it is way too "poppy" for my tastes. It is definitely a far cry from Audioslave, Soundgarden and Cornell's other solo works.
Unless this new project grows on me somehow I probably won't even download this. Legally or otherwise. :)

The song title-track is amazing, but the other songs I've heard are just kinda, meh. I do like how he is trying to not make the same album again and again. Just listen to the difference in Euphoria Morning and Carry On

He didn't sound like he was feeling it on the (fuck forgot the name of that shitty band) the one with the Rage guys. Cornell has a great voice but I think he sucks. He does nothing for me. I'd rather have a guy who couldn't sing as well as Cornell but wrote better lyrics and seemed more passionate and didn't make a douchey album with Timbaland.

EDIT: Audioslave. I think my brain tried to black out ever listening to them. One of the worst band names ever IMO.

he's trying to hard to exist beyond soundgarden. Audioslave was...ok. solo albums...eh.
but this, is terrible. I don't know the story of why soundgarden ended but new soundgarden would definetly get him the attention he seems to want.

His first two solo albums weren't too bad. They were different, but it was apparent that he poured himself into the songs. Audioslave's slower songs sounded great, but I think his voice clashed with Morello's heavier guitar sound.
don't hold your breath for Soundgarden to reuinite, Chris said on O&A it probably won't happen.

Holy shit this song called "Part of me" sucks! Does this mean I have to throw out all my Soundgarden records? This is impossible to listen to... but coming from Cornell, it makes it twice as bad.

The problem is all of the songs rely on Cornell because the backing music is the same for the whole song. Upwards of 6 minutes in some songs of the same beat gets exhausting

'Part of me' and collabing with Timbaland made me rethink my opinion of Cornell and I haven't recovered. I feel I may have been bamboozled all along. Fade away with some dignity or start producing new bands or something. HORRID.
