Out of all the concerts I've been to, I think the Foo Fighters, when they came to Cleveland Dave actually brought his dad on stage and his dad sang "All My Life":action-sm

saw Metallica in a bar.
Scatterbrain in a bar.
Testament in a bar.

so many concerts... over 100 i figure.... to many to list. a few standouts would be.

Rush - Moving pictures tour.
Deep Purple - 24 years ago perfect strangers.
Genesis -28 years ago at JFK
Pink Foyd.
Black sabbath with every singer except Ian ive seen.
Ozzy - blizzard of /oz - in Atlantic City in like 1981
All the old Maidens,Dios,Megadeths,metalicas,journey,

mayby i should post the bands i havnt seen...Led Zepelin.

PANTERA & SLAYER in the 90 were good times.

Actually the BLACK SABBATH ( OZZY) reunion tour with Pantera opening is pretty high up there...A guy like me, A life long Sabbarth fan... seeing them with Ozzy do songs like Paranoid together on stage for the first time was a great experience... I was blown away.. It was kind of intense because I had gotten in a tiff with three dudes over seating... I had a radter seat:( ended up knocking one out and fucking the other two up pretty bad....I got a standing applause and ovation as the security led me up the steps and tossed me out on my ass .... this was during Pantera.

So i ran to my truck grabbed a different shirt.. one i had on was torn..
Scalped a new ticket... ran up got in.... and Sabbath took the stage as i made it to a seat... SHWEEEEW!

By the same Token... The second show in Philly of the reunited VAN HALEN was pretty fantastic too.... Although ive seen VH with Dave bunch of times before but, not in so many years.

Black Crowes '98
Fear Factory/Children of Bodom/Lamb of God '04
Galactic '05
Avett Bros/ Michael Franti and SPEARHEAD/John Brown's Body '06
Medeski, SCOFIELD, Martin, and Wood '06

...But the best ever was The Police at Fenway July 2007. The tickets were from a friend of fathers from WBUR in Boston. I went with my buddy Matt. We had seats on left field. They were soooooo good and sooooo crisp. I also saw Rush at SPAC for S&Aand Genesis at Olympic Stadium in Montreal for Turn it on...Again. Great summer for classic rock reunions.

I'm not exactly a "concert-goer" but I will never forget the 2 times I saw Michael Franti and Spearhead perform in Montana. A little bit "hippy," but that dude puts on some amazing shows.

the best show i ever saw was yo la tengo at maxwell's last december ... they did an amazing version of 'on our way to fall,' played 'september gurls' (my favorite all time song) during an amazing encore and finished a brilliant show with ira's mom singing 'my little corner of the world' (i had to see my mom go through a lot of cancer related bullshit last year)

the show validated a lifetime of a being a music geek ... and ended with a personal, heartwarming moment

other hi-lites:

tom waits - beacon theatre ('99 i think)
sonic youth - irving plaza (november 2002)
radiohead - MSG (summer 2001)

The best sounding concert was KISS in 1990 during the Hot in the Shade tour.

The best overall was AC/DC also in 1990 during the Razors Edge tour - this was in NY, same tour when the dopes got killed in Salt Lake City.

I really miss general admission.

*Finally* saw Foo Fighters a couple years ago live and it was awesome - definitely want to see them again...ranks up there on the all time favorites....

Def Leppard about 5 or 6 years ago when they played the entire 'side one' of High n' Dry. Worth the price of admission to see it live.

Guns n' Roses in 1991 - holy shit that was an awesome show!

Melissa Etheridge in 1989....she is incredible live....had no idea about her personal life at the time....just exceptionally talented.

Soft spot in my heart for the numerous Winger shows I've been to over the past 20 years (gasp!). Yes, really, see them live and you'll be shocked.

Some of the best shows were at L'amours in Brooklyn back in the 80's.

Metallica/WASP/Armored Saint - Ride the Lightning Tour
Iron Maiden (Actually Charlotte and the Harlots) warm up for Seventh Son tour
Biohazard/Carnivore - Nobody rocked L'amours than Biohazard, nobody
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion tour
King Diamond - Fatal Potrait tour.

Big arenas

Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time tour (MSG)
Metallica - Master of Puppets (Felt Forum) first show ever w/ Jason Newstead. I had tickets for the show in August I think, but the show was postponed because Cliff had died. They rescheduled for December and it was their first show back. UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE.

Mainstream

Tom Petty at Jones Beach (Free Fallin tour)
Concrete Blond was real good too.

That was one of the first shows I saw. I tried like hell to get pavilion seats, but they sold out in like 5 minutes, but it was still plenty loud. I couldn't talk, hear, or move my head for 3 days. Awesome show.
Ozzy on the no more tours tour, he was cool, but I could have done without the old ladies removing their shirts.
I saw Aerosmith when they had Jackyl opening for them, Jackly was pretty cool, Aerosmith kinda sucked live.

I've been to few concerts, but none have been better than the two BB King shows I've gone to. One was about 6 or 7 years ago, it was a Bluesfest, kinda a lollapalooza thing, but for blues music.

The other was just a couple of weeks ago, a week after his 83rd birthday. He still puts on one hell of a show, and I really think he has more fun than any of the people in the crowd. I dragged my girlfriend to that show the other week, she knew who BB King was before the show, didn't really know about his music or anything, she now quotes things he said at the show more than I do. I also catch her humming some of the songs he played that night.

I have to say the best show overall was the Dream Theater "Train Of Thought" tour (2003) in Cleveland OH at the Agora Theater. No opening act. . . Just 3 hours of awesome tunes.

The best small club show I've seen was the Blue Oyster Cult around 1995. . . I saw them in a club that might have had 100 people in it. They did every one of my favorite BOC tunes (even ones that weren't hits) and they were really putting effort into the performance. . . Not just going through the motions. It might have helped that I was sitting maybe 30 feet away from them the whole time. :icon_wink

Won tickets from krock to see the White Stripes play at Electric Lady studios in a rehersal room
Seen Genisis well maybe the 4 hits of green dragon made it a great concert

My top show would be radiohead at MSG 2003. Second PJ harvey at the Knitting Factory in 2004, she was literally five feet away from me.

Other memorable shows would include the white stripes, ac/dc, rolling stones, and guns'n'roses.

I'll say The Mighty Mighty Bosstones in December of '07 at the Middle East in Boston for the Saturday show of the 10th Hometown Throwdown. I had seen them 17 or so times throughout my college days and I never thought I'd see them again. Tickets sold out so fast it was a miracle that I actually got a pair. The atmosphere was just magical. They played Last Dead Mouse (the inspiration for my screen name), Toxic Toast by request from the audience, Nate Albert came out and played two songs with them, and Peter Wolf from The J. Geils Band came out to play Give It To Me with them. Of all the MANY shows I've been to that one was the most memorable.

Metallica - think it was in 1991 when they peomoted the black album w/o an opening act. 2 1/2 hours of Matallica was unreal. Saw them again with GnR and they blew GnR away. (GnR was the worst show ive even seen but thats another thread).

Queensryche - The tour when Empire came out and they played the whole Mindcrime album. One of my faves.

Dream Theater - saw them twice in small Long Island clubs. The best musicans ive ever seen. Period.

Poison - I hate to admit it. Various girlfriends made me see them 3 times. Everytime i wanted to hate them and every time they put on an amazing show. Dammit now i feel queer.

Craziest - Slayer at Irving Plaza (couldn't walk for a month after that one)

Most Memorable - Green Day at Woodstock (3-4 songs in, degenerated into a mud slinging contest and a fight with bouncers)

Personal Favorite - Face To Face at Coney Island High

Most of the shows I've been too I barely remember. Drunk + mosh pit = vague memories.

Tool in Dublin about a month after Lateralus came out. Saw it in a venue that held maybe 1500 people tops.

Bosstones at the Hometown Throwdown this past Dec. Spent the entire show in the pit which I haven't done in a long time.

Ministry with Anthrax opening at the Electirc Factory in 2003. It was the only show they were doing together, Anthrax played nothing but good songs(Caught in a Mosh, Bring the Noise, Got the Time...stuff like that). They had Ogre with them doing a few songs and Scott came out for a few songs during their *3rd* encore. Not to mention that they played almost all of Psalm 69(including Jesus Built My Hotrod), and a lot of other good older stuff. I knew that Al was going to be probably calling it quits on touring soon so I didn't bother seeing the other 2 tours. Don't think that either of them could remotely compare to that.

Best, hands-down, was Genesis at Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, 18 Sep 2008. The first of seven Genesis shows I saw last year, and my first Genesis show EVER! Ended up being my worst seats of the 7, but since it was my very first time seeing them live, it was overwhelming.

Very close second was Steve Hackett at BB King Blues Club in 2003. What an incredible showman! Not a great singer, but man can he play guitar!

Saw 2 "private" Phil Collins concerts in 1998 (filming of A&E Live By Request and Hard Rock Live), but they were standard mushy stuff ('80s pop hits) - except for a surprise "Turn It On Again"! Saw him the following night at the Buddy Rich Tribute concert...he's still an incredible drummer!

Im probably gonna catch some shit for this one, but it had to be the last Linkin Park concert I went to. Chris Cornell opened for them, and I was dead center in the front of the pit. LP and Chris both put on one hell of a show.

Some other notable shows were PR04 with Korn, Snoop Dogg and Linkin Park, and seeing Staind at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach.

1 - Metallica in Toronto on the Black Album tour - The fans were screaming so loud they completely drowned out 'One'. I couldn't even hear the customs guy coming back into the US.

2 - Def Leppard in Buffalo on the Adrenalize tour - This one has my favorite 'moment' from a concert, when they played White Lightning, a song they never released as a single, and the whole arena sang along. I was in the 5th row and you could tell how much it affected them that everyone knew the song and were singing for Steve Clark.

3 - Queensryche at Darien Lake for the Promised Land Tour - My favorite American band - I've seen them the most out of anyone. This was their best performance.

4 - Scorpions at Darien Lake for the Face the Heat Tour - We were in like the 3rd or 4th row. The opening act (The Poor) was the best I've ever seen, and the Scorpions were still at the top of their game.

5 - Steve Perry in Buffalo for the Love of Strange Medicine Tour - Second favorite concert moment - When he sang 'Somewhere There's Hope' and the crowd gave the guitar player a standing ovation after the solo. (It was a new, unreleased song, so most folks were sitting)

Ok, shocking for me.

1. The Deftones, July 15th 1998 in Tulsa. Warped tour. There is maybe 1000 - 1500 people in the crowd at the time. Its 105 degrees out and Chino (Moreno) comes out in khaki's and a red canvas windbreaker. He stands at the edge of the railing and belts out "Shove it". Chairs are being thrown everywhere, the whole place is a mosh pit and I jump up and grab his arm and scream into the microphone along with him. It was nuts.

2. Incubus and Hoobastank 01 at the Kansas coliseum in Wichita. Incubus is the only band that I have heard that sounded better than the cd. I met and danced with soooo many cute girls that day. They said I made the concert worth going to. Absolutely amazing time.

The Warped Tour in the 90's were always a fucking blast. It felt more like a real traveling underground show. Now it's just too big and commercialized for my taste. Or it could be the fact that I'm 30 now... ;)

I actually agree. When I went to the WAAF Big Field Day to see Megadeath and Powerman five-thousand in Salem, MA in 1999, it was a different time. For me at least. The whole skate, thrash, metal, rap/rock thing was cool for a then fifteen year old. But now a twenty-four year old, I look back on all the Warped Tour, Ozzfest bands that I loved and I cringe.

Killswitch Engage, just the same. Howard is a big black motherfucker who just jumps and rolls around everywhere. Unfortunately, when I saw them, Adam D. was out and Pat from Damageplan was filling in, so I missed out on his goofiness.

1978 The Tubes in support of their "what do you want from live" tour. Utterly insane stage show and musicianship. The band reportedly ended up so far in the red because of the cost of the shows that several promoters didn't want to touch them for a few years....lol.

another show around the same time a triple bill with J-Geils, Blue Oyster Cult and Mother Finest. All 3 bands at the height of their careers. Particularly J-Geils who could put on one of the most energetic shows of the day. Great stuff.

last one - '77 "YES" in support of their album "Relayer". I was tripping on 2 hits a mescaline. It was the first time I ever saw lasers used in a live show. 3 massive snake heads that hung over the band would come down and hang over the crowd. Fun Times.

Clash of the Titans Tour-'91. Alice In Chains, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth.
Ozzy-'86. Metallica w/Cliff opened that one.
Maiden '85.
Kiss '77.
Not a Springsteen fan at all, but a friend took me to see the E Street Band in '84, and it was a good show.
Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, and Dean Martin in '88. Dean was in pretty bad shape and left the tour shortly after the gig I saw (to be replaced by Liza Minnelli), but just having the three on stage at the same time gave me chills. These guys were the original rock stars.

Gonna show my age a bit. But best hands down knock out punch Was Pink Floyd's The Wall at Nassau Coll. was only at LA and London. What a fucking show Built a wall end to end and than the plane crashed into it. As the band played in the rubble. Fucking awesome. A few decades Later I was in Germany when Rodger Waters put it on in Berlin. Another stunning moment.
But Loudest Ted Nudget
As perople said The Ultimate event with Sammy Liza and Frankie I wished I was at the dino shows but those were stunning.
Bruce Sprinsteen never dissaopinted.
Best live audinace vibe was greatfull dead I saw them about 7 times during my college years.
But Pink Floyds the Wall, To bad they never had great tape from those shows...

1978 The Tubes in support of their "what do you want from live" tour. Utterly insane stage show and musicianship. The band reportedly ended up so far in the red because of the cost of the shows that several promoters didn't want to touch them for a few years....lol.

Wow I forgot about the Tubes, they were a great band. I saw them in like 1982 and they were excellent. I had a friend in Germany who told me about the 78 tour and mentioned it was the craziest thing he ever saw, hookers parading around on stage w/farm animals & shit like that.

Haha say what you will. That was the best concert going experience I've ever had. From the Proximity to the Material to the Musicians assembled. Top Notch.

However, I am going to see Steve Earle at the Tarrytown Music Hall in January. That could also be up there.

Might not count, but Virgin Mobile Fest in August 08.

Over the course of two days, I saw Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, Iggy and the Stooges, Bob Dylan, She and Him, Bloc Party, Kanye West - a few more, I don't remember. Great weekend.

Best single show was Arctic Monkeys/We Are Scientists at the Norva in Norfolk, VA. Small venue, both bands were just breaking. Good times.

As I was thinking here are a one more that beat my previous entry....

AFI, The Explosion @ Waterstreet In Rochester. This was after AFi released"sing the Sorrow". It was a postponed show because they recorded a video. Recover was originally scheduled to open(whom I recommend checking out). The crowd interaction, and chanting before they even took the stage was amazing. Davey walking on the crowd halfway through, craziest crowd I've scene.

I went to see Nine Inch Nails on Sunday and I'm not gonna say it was the best over all show I've ever seen, but the visuals were by for the best and most beautiful thing I've ever seen done at any kind of concert in my 14 years of going to shows. It really was breathtaking. The videos of it that are online really don't do it justice.

Probably, the main reason it was my favorite show is that I got laid in the parking lot afterward. :icon_bigg

Been to many concerts but believe it or not one of the best was a Buffet Concert.
Jimmy Buffet fans will tailgate for 8 to 10 hours before a show, there's plenty of girls
that have no problem showing off their tits and the actual show is one of the best
for audience participation that I've ever seen. Very high energy show.

That being said, my most favorite band to see was the Stones.
It's just not a life if you didn't get to see them play at least once.

I've been to alot of concerts, hard to pick just one so here are some highlights...

The best sounding live show... I can't decide between CSNY and The Eagles.

One of the first concerts I ever went to was Bon Jovi & Cinderella back in '87. I was 16 years old. Didn't give a rat's ass about Bon Jovi and was ready to leave after Cinderella finished their set.

I've seen U2 about 3 times, always great.

One of the best overall shows was Van Halen (with Sammy Hagar).
