After trying the different demos, NBA 2K9 takes home the trophy for me. In addition to the bumped up graphics, I've always preferred its gameplay and just overall realness to how its played. The living rosters upgrade is great too. Anyone get this?

In spite of myself, I bought this game last week; it's great! They juiced up the graphics, and the gameplay is way better than before. If you like sports games, there's no comparison on the PS3 (and I assume the 360) in terms of the look, feel, and gameplay experience. There are still some issues where players "phase through" each other, but I would still call 2k9 the best basketball sim out there.

I love that in the commercials for it there is a bunch of bananas hanging from the name of the game. Guess you know what they are trying tro say about the NBA

I noticed that too, I suck and I'm rusty compared to the rest of my friends. Most of the time I'm experimenting with the different moves. The All Star level can get pretty tough and its the closest to playing a real game that you can get. The CPU actually does a pretty good job of adapting to your gaming strategy and find some way to embarrass you.

Do any of you guys use the shot stick?

Yeah, that would be NBA Live '09. Not NBA 2k9.

2K8 sucked ass. Nothing but glitches and exploits. Fucking terrible game. Don't think I'll be giving these no patching fucks any money for 2K9.

Are you guys getting a little tired of little guards driving to the lane and PASSING RIGHT THROUGH YOU? Damn, that's getting frustrating!

Do you guys who have XBL or PS3 see the changes from the Living Rosters? They already made the Iverson trade and it reflects in my game which I thought was a really cool feature for this year. It looks like they're serious about keeping rosters up to date, I like it.

Living rosters is spot on. i checked my game the morning after the trade, and there it was.

The added animations and new shot stick make the game extremely realistic

The first thing I noticed in the trailers and when I actually got was the trailers, its really like watching an actual game.

The shotstick is really one of the best new ideas for the newer bball games... it took me awhile to get used to but I've learned to use it all the time.

They put up this page for some basic tips on improving your game that I found that actually works: http://www.sportsgamer.com/content/2336/10-quick-tips-to-improve-your-nba-2k9-game/

I can't recommend this game anymore. The game LOOKS great, but PLAYS like shit. I got to the point that I started saving replays of players passing thru each other; hands passing thru the ball & arms passing thru the other player when you attempt a block, etc. etc. And of course there's the 3rd quarter slump; that's when you MIRACULOUSLY start missing shots so that the computer can catch up. If you turn up the difficulty past "pro"; you are GUARANTEED shitty computer bullshit gameplay. I broke my promise to myself buying this game, and I'll never break it again. FUCK 2k Sports. They had the best basketball game for about 3 years.
