For the love of God, someone please help me. I have tried every known setting sending and receiving mail using Apple Mail connecting to Bellsouth DSL. Any one know what the correct settings are. The idiot reading the script tonight was not much help.

There is no such thing as Bellsouth anymore sir.
I don't know about apple mail though. Is the account an actual @bellsouth.net or an @att.net account? Because they use different mailservers, ports and authentication options.

fwiw though...
@bellsouth
Username is the username without the @bellsouth.net following
server for sending and receiving is mail.bellsouth.net
outgoing port is 25 and incoming is 110
No SSL.
No secure authorization
That should do it.
@att.net is different
username is username@att.net
Incoming server is fpostoffice.isp.att.net
Outgoing server is fmailhost.isp.att.net
Incoming port is 465.
Outgoing port is 995
SSL is used.
No secure authorization.
