My N64 analog stick never broke and I stomped the hell out of that controller with my bare feet. Hurt my foot but controller still works perfectly.

Nintendo stuff is very tolerant of abuse. I heard stories of people running over their gameboys on accident and accidentally dropping them into huge buckets of dirty oil and they'd still work.

N64 controllers' joysticks wear out so that there's a dead center like the steering in an old car. Still works but its much less precise.
