Yep, this is what's been rumoured for quite some time now, when it was revealed that Bioware was working with Lucasarts on some project.

Most believed it'd be KOTOR 3, but it looks like that's not quite the case.

Looks like they would have taken a page from WoW's book on this and put it on both Windows and Mac and let them play together. Otherwise, this looks fun for a day or two and then you realize that it is a serious clusterfuck if they let you choose Jedi as a class off the bat. I loved having my pre-patch jedi on Galaxies and being able to run through about 30 other players at once, but once they let everyone be jedi then it sucked the big one.

I'm not being a fanboy. I just don't want to hear the expectation levelled against it as it has against every major MMO in the past few years. Because there's no way it can be right out the gate. I don't want to see it get thrashed for not being what it can't and probably isn't trying to be.

I still think EQ2 is better than WoW...both are the same age and have massive polish, but EQ2 fans aren't as rabid and SOE's marketing sucks. Warhammer is doing great and also has the marketing potential of Blizzard, but lacks the polish...Bioware will have a strong crowd show up for this MMO, but since LucasArts is attached, I'm scared...because they are cancer to video games.

Yes, that's more or less my exact fear. Pressure is what made KOTOR 2 the way it was. As much as I loved that game, it could have been much better and more polished if it wasn't pushed so hard.

WoW sucks.

Ever since SWG got roooooned, I've been looking for something to fill the void. WOW didn't do it for me, due to it's typical leveling system, quests, and the stupid specified zones for certain levels. SWG was an open world sandbox MMO where you could pick and chose your skills. Well....not anymore. Fucking Sony.

Hopefully TOR will be similar to SWG, although I'm sure there will be some sort of leveling system, which is disappointing. But...since everyone's a Jedi, I guess you kinda have to do it that way.


We'll see. I do like the idea of cinematic fight scenes.
