I realize I need to get something I can carry around and update my yahoo calendar with. I dont need a phone. I have verizon wireless and a new 2 year contract. I love apple products but dont want an iphone since ATT has 1,000 blackout spots in my area. Can I use an Itouch for what I want? Basically, I need to access the internet, right? Plus it will synch w/ my mac at home.

Am I thinking this thru right? Can someone make a better suggestion? I am totally new to this and am not sure Ive got it right. But now that I figured out I need something I want to buy it tomorrow!! I want a new toy.

Thanks all! XO

The itouch is an OK PDA. It is a great internet device. If you are used to a robust PDA then the itouch will be a disappointment. But if you are looking to keep contacts, update yahoo and use the internet then the itouch will work well.

I am a hardcore palm OS user with 7 different devices in the past 8 years. I carry a Palm Treo 755 (Sprint) because I still wanted a powerful PDA (and yes I think Palm OS is powerful for PDA functions). I also carry an itouch and love it as an internet device when near WiFi. Its a fun toy and a great ipod - but the internet (Safari browser) is just amazing!

Blackberry Storm comes out next month on Verizon. Kick ass as a PDA, full WiFi and 3g, the whole 9.

I know you said you don't need a phone, but if you're on Verizon anyway, RIM interfaces well with Mac... Check it out.
