I haven't been following the boards the entire time so I'm not sure where some of the current speculation came from, so bear with me.

Everyone is saying they will go to Sirius, yet the boys themselves posted that picture of them in front of the XM logo? Anyone else think that it might just be that simple..that they are actually giving us a good indication with that picture? Also, I heard a while back that Sirius wouldn't let them talk about the details of S4S and then firing? Plus, if the current talk of infinity purchasing part or all of Sirius is true then I would have to think that they would stay away just on general principle.

Again, sorry if these questions are a little dated, I guess I missed something over the past few months.

First of all, there's no such thing as a silly question here. A lot of people are starting to come back into the fold lately, and aren't entirely up to speed with the latest news. Welcome.

We don't know for sure when that picture at XM was taken, but the bbbboys have said they've spoken to both companies, but haven't signed with either one yet. My personal feeling is that they're holding out to see who come forward with the better deal, even though they are probably leaning towards Sirius since so many of the show's staff and supporters work there now.

As to the gag order, that was something Infinity insisted on if they were to let O&A out of their contract early. Now that the contract is up, they have no say in the matter anymore.

The rumor about Infinity buying Sirius is just that - a rumor. Other rumors include that Mel Karmazin may want to buy back Infinity from Viacom, that Mel wants to buy ABC radio from Disney, that Mel will replace Michael Eisner as head of Disney, and that Viacom will sell Infinity to Citadel. This sort of thing happens in the wake of a major management shakeup . . . it doesn't mean any of these things will actually happen.

Cool, thanks Mascan. I thought something new had happened that skewed everyone towards Sirius, but apparently not.

I have XM, so I'm hoping there was some truth to that pic they posted, but I'll follow wherever they go.

What chaps my ass is that I'm gonna be doing a lot of traveling soon (in the afternoons, no less), so ideally I would really want satellite radio; however, with all the new-found knowledge, I don't want to screw up and buy the wrong unit. :-/

Just wait...I bought XM last year after getting fed-up with what regular radio had to offer (and fully aware that I may have to return it if the boys went to sirius).

Although If I didn't have it I wouldn't gamble on any one service at the moment....It seems like an announcement will be forthcoming any day now, so just sit tight

I also think the rumors of anyone buying sirius are just hype. There are 1.24 billion shares of the stock outstanding. At a 10% premium on the stock price it would cost 4.37 billion dollars to buy out a company that lost 144 million dollars last quarter, and has never shown a profit. Plus they keep issuing more shares like crazy. Didn't the boys once say they were paid in stock for something that ended up worthless? Maybe the ceo should pitch them in a don west voice

"I got a money making proposition for you, look at this stock, it's almost worthless, WORTHLESS!!! But if you come to sirius you will get not 500 thousand, but 1 million shares each, and I'll throw in the Mark Mcguire rookie card for the hell of it!"

That picture was posted because XM was indeed looking like the place they were headed. IT wasnt an accident it was leaked, and it wasnt an accident that it ended up on opieandanthony.com

They are in discussions with both but XM as and still is closer to closing the deal than Sirius.

Yeah, I don't think O&A would have put it up their official site if it were a joke. My feeling is that it's the most conclusive piece of evidence we've gotten from them so far....the rumors of them at XM got out so they tossed that picture out there to give us all some direction.

Sirius, XM, whatever, I just want the boys back.

Maybe Im wrong, but when has a contract been jepordized by someone merely discussing possibilities. I dont understand why O&A can't just post what they know thus far. Why would any company be upset over someone discussing future posibilities. Both know what they have been offered by the competition that is the whole premise of negotiating(outbidding the competition). Honestly, I dont think O&A have been as honest with their fans as they should be (but thats just my opinion). Regardless if you feel they have done all they could they should still hear some shit when they reach there final destination. It would be funny to hear them trip on their tampon strings trying to back peddle (again).

Wrong. The pic was found COMPLETELY by accident... by ME!

(fyi- i have no affiliation with the show, other than my band being on once, long ago)

I changed digits in the url of published images, and stumbled across one pic that was uploaded, but never published.
I chose to post it here first, cuz I dig this board, and I was lurking here for a long time. No other reason.

All in all, I'm just glad it didnt screw up any negotiations, from what anyone's aware of. Cuz if it did screw anything up, I'd be more than happy to have everyone wrongly think they left it to be found.

i was just gonna bring up the fact that REV already did, the pic was found by chance, a nosey fan like so many here at wackbag (luv ya guys). if O&A did not post it, it would have lead to even more speculation (can there be more?) so rather then keep the pic secret they posted it on O&A.com. they may go to xm, who knows. (O&A do i bet) but it won't be becuase of some picture that found it's way onto the internet. cause if that's the case then get ready for the imus and opie show.

We all want to know what's going on, but since both xm and sirius are publicly traded companies there are SEC rules governing the release of information. Any leaks before an official statement by the company could be considered release of inside information. The last thing we want is the boys sharing a cell with martha stewart, though that would make for some great radio. I figure we will get news from one of the companies first. My bet is still on XM because it is a stronger company with more listeners.
