I actually saw it twice in the theater. i saw it when it came out just because I had to and then this past Sunday because my buddy wanted to see it and I wanted to see if it was really that bad or if I had some kind of expectations of it.
While Cobra Commander sucked a bag of dicks, there was no redeeming value in the movie outside of Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols looking hot. And they had Miller married and making out with a French man and Nichols making out with a ******, you choose which is worse.

Yeah I liked it.
Some of the lines were a little too contrived but overall it was good.
Is this gona be the one indie flick that the Academy falls in love with?

You're forgetting there's TEN best picture nominations this year. So there's always a possibility.
But Fox Searchlight is bumping up the release of "Crazy Heart" to December, it's basically the country music version of "The Wrestler" with Jeff Bridges as the lead, supposed to be great. So that will most likely be their main movie they're pushing for awards. But I still think there's a good chance for the leads in 500 Days to get nominations at the Golden Globes for acting in a comedy, maybe even the screen play.

Jeff Bridges is the man - that guy pops up in all kinds of foolishness and makes it watchable.
500 should get the nod just for Zooey. Damn she's fine. I'm not too proud to admit I nearly ran a batch watching her in that fucking cotton commercial.
