I thought the pilot was well done, and did enough to try to bring people back. We'll see tonight if Ep 2 is a bag of dog shit, or if the good writing continued

All first episodes are a little crammed, this is just more noticeable because no one would watch a show where aliens are just nice people giving us AIDS medication.

I don't know. I broke out the original Miniseries on DVD the other day and the big reveal, Diana with the Guinea Pig (Diana, who I must say I found way more hot than Anna, I mean she's good looking at all, but I can't stand that ass short hair on women. Hell, I've got pubes that are longer than the hair on her head) occured a little over an hour into the show. With commercials, and assuming the airing stated at 9:00, that reveal probably didn't happen until like 10:20. And even before then, there was some pretty terrifying stuff going on without much actual violence. It's actually still pretty effective how easily the Visitors essentially took over.
I get the impression that this series focuses a bit too much on the chick from Lost so far where as the original had more interweaved stories. We'll see what happens.
But for a nice memory, who remembers when they were watching "The Final Battle" when they were kids and when Juliet was in that conversion chamber and was wearing that flesh colored body suit and the shadows made it look like you were seeing bush.

I dont remember the original mini, but I was only a kid when it was on. Unfortunately I didnt see it when SciFi replayed it recently, either.
Anyway, decent episode tonight. The young V named Lisa is pretty hot.

So it looks like next week's episode will be the 'last of 2009' as the promo said last night. Im honestly surprised that ABC is still going to delay the show since its been doing so well and gotten largely positive ratings. Question is, will they be smart and bump up the return date slightly to either Jan. or Feb., or will they kill any momentum the show has and bring it back in March as planned when nobody's going to give a fuck anymore ?

Definitely liking this series so far - having aliens on both sides should make it pretty sweet down the road when they start fighting head to head.
And if it's possible, Morena Baccarin looks even better than she did in Firefly

I prefer her with longer hair but she has such an attractive face that the short hair isn't a killer as it would be on many other chicks.

I really miss 20 plus episode seasons. Network TV sucks now where the hell is Chuck. Do we get 5 and a half episodes? Bunch of BS. Whats the point of a TV season ending six weeks after it's debut.

I haven't watched this since the first episode aired. Mostly because I'm playing MW2 and lose track of time.

I think there might be two or three shows with 20 plus episodes still on network tv.
Chuck comes back on Sunday January 10, and then airs regularly on Mondays.
One benefit of a short TV season, and this is especially true of shows on FX and HBO, is that each season comes across as a more cohesive story rather than forcing episode after episode of filler on us.
V. itself is an odd case in that it's been presented as a mini-series (or a couple of mini-series), rather than a regular series. That doesn't often happen. Usually when a show "ends" after four weeks, it's been canceled.

I agree with Liddy, HBO and FX-type seasons are preferable. Id much rather have quality over quantity any day. Lost is a perfect example of a show that has benefited greatly from a reduced number episodes as far as a network show goes.
