Did I make a bad trade?
Okay, I traded Jake Plummer for Neil Rackers and Mushin Muhammad. I didnt have a spare kicker, and my kicker (Jason Elam) is on a bye week 10, so I needed one. My main QB is Tom Brady, who has already had his bye and is doing well, except for a poor performance last week I think. The guy I traded to has Steve McNair and Brad Johnson as his QB's... McNair sucks and is injured, and has a bye coming up, and Johnson isnt even playing anymore.
Anyway, did I f this up?

See, I think the problem is that you know too much about what you're talking about. I know at work the only people who win sports-related office pools are women who know jack shit about the sport that their male competitors live and breathe.

i think you made out a lil better on this trade. rackers has been damn good this year. mush is a guy who either shows up or doesnt so hes a risky play every week. it depends really on your roster whether he was just a consolation to the trade or is someone you can start . the only thing id be worried about is injury to brady or just the simple fact that as a qb hes great. he wins manages games well and doesnt make to many mistakes. on the fantasy side he is pretty average. he doesnt put up stellar numbers on any kind of consistent basis. he can throw for 300 and 2 tds one week and throw for 150 and no td's the next. i dont know who is in your fa pool but id look to try to pick up atleast a servicable qb as insurance.
overall a fair trade that could help either of you but obviously from his other 2 choices at the moment plummer is a immediate upgrade for him. you get a bye week plugin at kicker (although after elams bye id look to make a decision on one or the other. two kickers is a waste of roster space really.) id say it was pretty much an even swap .

My other choices for WR are Hines Ward, David Givens (the two I usually play), Justin McCariens and Kevin Johnson. Now that I have Mush I am dropping Johnson. I had Caldwell, which I thought would be a good choice, and then he went and got injured. My goal is mostly to use Mush as a backup if Ward or Givens get injured, and McCariens as another backup if needed.
My RBs are Barber, Sammy Morris (just picked him up this week), Richie Anderson, Mike Alstott (also injured and not really producing anyway) and Deuce McAllister. with Alstott injured and McAllister on a bye, I am playing Barber and Morris this week. I considered playing Anderson instead of Morris this week, but for now I have put Morris in.
Tight end has been my other weak point... I've got LJ Smith and Boo Williams.
Our league plays a QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, K, DST
Thanks for the advice! This is my first year playing, and I'm in my brothers league. The trade I did was with my husband, and it actually annoyed my brother cause he sees no value for me, and sees it as a way to lock up first in the league for my husband, who is currently in 3rd place. We figured out, that my brothers main objection is probably that hes playing my husband this week, and his only good player happens to be Culpepper... the rest are average at best!

id stick with morris(i am). he has a wrist injury and i believe will be playing with a cast on it. so he most likely will be splitting some carries(3rd and passing play downs would be my guess.) with minor. i think he still has a possiblitly of putting up good numbers since the jets run defense hasnt been all that dominant . id say 60-80 yards and a possible td. decent for a #2 back.
i can see your brothers point because all the trade did for you was give you depth at wr and a bye week plug in at kicker and it gave you husband a qb he was sorely lacking and needs now that mac9 is hurt and may be out multiple weeks. but as far as the trade based on players alone as i said its pretty even up as far as potential for both sides and there would be no way i would see it get rejected in any public league.

It didnt get rejected... My brother was the only objection, and he didnt object officially, just in a private email to my husband and I, where he wanted proof that I wasnt just doing this to improve his team.
Thanks for the advice on Morris... I'll leave him in then...

Time zone settings on the board itself are correct, However you may have your own settings wrong in the User CP!
Go to Edit Options scroll down to " TIME ZONE" near the bottom. Make sure your GMT is set correct.. (-5 For east coast) then make sure the DST settings are set for " automatically detect DST Settings"
If yoour board settings are correct, ignore this message
