Default November 23rd 2004 - "Tippy Tom's Fucked Up!"

Hours 1 and 2

Show opens with just about every laugh track the boys have, Cartman, DeNiro, all of it.

Opie brings up the promo/sweeper that opens the show with all the Sex for Sam stuff, getting a little tired of it. He's thinking they may have to do something else crazy so there's something new to talk about. The Boston mayor prank lasted a while, then the Voyeur Bus, now Sex for Sam, might be time for something new.

More talk of how they're attempting the greatest comeback in radio history. Opie brings up a video they played at Passion of O&A that showed just how big they were and it was somewhat depressing, but as we all know, they always win in the end.

More new Monster Rain songs today, and one about Opie & the Marshmallows from Dugout Doug, but that one stinks so they won't play it.

Keith the Cop calls in and he's got Tippy Tom with him in the back of his car and he's on his way to the studio. For those that don't know, Tom was one of the homeless guys the boys found for the Homeless Shopping Sprees of the WNEW days. Here's a picture.

But then we do get the Opie song, called Frat Boy in Blue Jeans. I didn't hear what they said about it, but it's up on foundry if you want to check it out, not bad.

Marian calls in from the Retarded Laverne and Shirley, she wants the guys to really tell Lady Di she needs help. Opie says no way, they're not getting involved. Either way, the two messes are coming in tomorrow.

More talk about what to do with Tippy Tom when he gets to the studio because he stinks. Anthony doesn't even want him in the studio but Opie and Jim say he's gotta come in.

Caller asks about Jimmy's audition yesterday (trying out for a part in Law and Order). He says it went better than he thought but that means he probably won't get it, he usually only gets things like this if he thought he stinks. Lil Jimmy should be perfect for the role, it's a guy who works in a porn shop.

This brings us back to U2, AGAIN. Opie was walking out of his apartment and all of a sudden he sees the band on a flat bed truck driving through Manhattan and fans chasing them. They were headed to play a concert under the Brooklyn Bridge, Ben mentions they took the same route as the voyeur bus. If anyone would know, Beno would ...

Ant brings up the fact that that area of the city is called Dumbo, like Tribeca and Soho and every other dumb name for a part of this city, but he can't remember what it means.

Caller from San Diego lets us know that Dumbo stands for Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. He takes a shot at Anthony for not knowing and Ant seems a little edgy as he jumps on the guy, calling him a sailor-fucker and hoping San Diego falls into the ocean after an Earthquake. Opie asks if Ant got any sleep last night, he says yeah but he was super busy playing the JFK assasination game yesterday. It's highly addictive, and I have to agree. The goal is to accurately reproduce the assasination as it happened. Extra points are given for where the bullets land and not injuring anyone who wasn't actually injured at the time.

Some talk about how it actually happened, according to the Warren Commission anyway. Opie's brother is in studio and he's an expert, shot 1 missed, shot 2 hit JFK went through him and hit Connolly, and shot 3 was the head shot. Anthony was shooting way too soon, taking the easy shot on the straight away until waiting until the car was heading away.

Caller has a joke about an extra JFK Jr. flight simulator bonus level.

Ben comes in to announce that Tippy Tom is here, the guys in the studio can smell him already. Ant again says he doesn't want him in the studio, but it doesn't look like he's going to get his way. They read an e-mail from khemystri about the great Monster Rain song he sent in yesterday and play that going into break.

Coming back to the show with Disturbed.

Lady Di is now calling in. Opie wants her to keep it quick, he doesn't want to get serious again. She wants to talk to Tippy Tom but nobody cares. She called the potential sponsor who was on the show yesterday, and he was calling in now and made a comment to Lady Di about doing radio bits. Opie immediately hung up on him, saying he can't have this guy trying to take Di off their show.

Before Tippy Tom comes in, they've got him mic'd up outside the studio and he's doing some nice singing. Now he's coming in the studio and Anthony is begging for Lysol, the stink is everywhere immediately. Tippy's got a nice XM radio hat on, and was in line for the free fish finders down in Union Square last week but couldn't get one.

Tippy Tom starts the in-studio singing with some Rod Stewart, too funny. Then he keeps babbling about wanting to sing but won't, finally they get him going into some You Don't Send Me Flowers.

It was basically just random babbling from Tippy Tom, they're trying to ask him about when he got laid and at first he didn't want to say anything but finally let out that he got a BJ from a drag queen last night for a dollar, and that it was good.

Some more singing, including some Tom Jones.

Ant brings up how at one point during the old show Tippy Tom was in rehab and a hospital and came out completely clean, sober and normal, but now he's obviously back to his less than clean ways.

Caller - Tippy Tom alone was worth his $2 this month.

Going into the break with another Monster Rain song, this one set to Bon Jovi you give love a bad name, good stuff.

Coming back with another gay sweeper, Opie is sick of them.

Tippy Tom is now passed out in the hallway, the boys at one point were nervous that he was dead. This isn't him but it's one artist's interpretation ...

Caller - Out of nowhere this guy is disappointed they made the Sexiest State in America girl wait 15 minutes while they talked about the NBA fight. The boys say why worry about it, they got to her eventually. Also, they had no idea how good it would be, sometimes they stop the show for a girl and she stinks.

This brings us back to more talk about the NBA brawl. Some people are now blaming the fans. Opie is saying the fans are just fed up about paying so much for tickets and think they owed something. Apparently, the guy who threw the first cup has a good sized criminal record.

Another person died in the Wisc. hunting mess. Apparently the guy up in their treestand is Laotian, and they have no concept of private property, so of course the right thing to do was shoot off 40 rounds and kill 6 people. Norton makes a good Full Metal Jacket reference here "The private's rifle's name is Charrene sir!"

Caller - tries to correct Ant from earlier about the JFK game when he said Book Suppository not Book Depository, obviously not catching the Full Metal Jacket reference, so for his trouble he gets called an idiot and gets hung up on, but he is allowed to keep listening to the show.

Caller - Crazy man from NJ saying that 80% of NBA players have felony convictions, some serious racist stuff here. The boys basically say those stats can't be right and the racial stuff makes no sense because the players were punching black fans and fights happen all the time in baseball and hockey too. He then makes a comment about basketball being nothing special because he can go see dolphins put a ball in a hoop. Then he says eventually one of the players is going to start shooting people and blame black rage, the boys just don't think it's a racial thing.

The dolphins comments leads to a little silliness about who would win between NBA players and dolphins. Keith the Cop says if you played in water the dolphins would win easily because the NBA players can't swim. On an NBA court though, obvious advantage humans. Maybe the happy medium is an NBA court filled with about 4 feet of water.

Caller - The fights will just keep happening as long as you serve booze at the games, but everyone agrees that this just will never stop.

Caller - There's a book out there explaining how many NBA players have a record, but it's really 40% and includes felonies and misdemeanors. Crazy racist was way off but that's still a lot.

Caller - Wants to go back to the hunter stuff (Ant does a funny impression of backwards talking here as they're going back to an earlier topic). But the caller has nothing, just wanted to throw something out there with no punchline.

Norton randomly talks about putting babies in meat slicers. I may have missed something here but Cage did some great work with it ...

Caller - Rugby was much worse than any other sport, and more about how the caller going off on the NBA players was dead wrong. Good line from Opie here "Hey it's fun to be racist but you gotta base it on fact."

Caller - what was the hunter doing with that semi-automatic rifle. Apparently it's legal for hunting but the guy had a little too much firepower just to shoot some deer.

Caller - wants to go back to NBA/Dolphins (more Ant talking backwards), but he's nervous and just can't get anything out. Not sure what he was saying, brought up the Miami Dolphins at some point. Opie just let him die until he finally hung up on him.

Steve comes in, the girls who are supposed to be there today should be there soon. One is a gymnast and the pictures looked good.

**TEASER ALERT** They'll be waking up Tippy Tom on the air after the break.

Going to the break with Linda McCartney singing backup on Hey Jude, showing how completely awful she is. Of course the "Turn it Off" was used.
