Default Fantasy Trade Thoughts

I'm working on a deal right now and want some insight.

Here's my roster. Couple things about my team. This is a Keeper league where we kept 5 players, they are in bold. My 5th keeper was LaMont Jordan who I traded along with my 1st round pick for T.O. and Jamal Lewis. This year we are reducing the players kept to 3.

We start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1WR/RB, 1K, 1DEF

QB - Peyton Manning
RB - Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis, Ahman Green, Musa Smith, Maurice Jones-Drew
WR - Terrell Owens, Donald Driver, T.J. Houshmanzadah, Lav Coles, Greg Jennings, Todd Heap
K- Jeff Reed
Def - NE, Miami

In talking with another owner, we worked out the following potential trade:

I give:
Lav Coles
Jamal Lewis

I get:
Edgerian James
Reggie Brown or Troy Williamson

I am thinking of doing this because it will be a definite upgrade to RB2, and I won't lose that much depth at the WR position.

Is this the upgrade that I think this is or am I fooling myself with Edge???

Well, obviously you'd keep Manning and LJ as two of your keepers next year barring any kind of injury situation.

As far as the trade goes, both Lewis and Edge have been terrible, but if I had to pick one, I think Lewis has the better shot to bounce back this year. Edge's situation isn't going to get much better with a rookie QB taking over.

The receivers are a wash, although both Brown and Williamson are probably going to be excellent keeprs for next season so that would be the reason I'd pull the trigger if I make the trade.

I wouldn't because

Edge
88 Yards (Season)
2 TD's

Lewis
268 Yards (Season)
1 TD

Stallworth is back so Reggie Brown's receptions will go down

So No

I think that your looking at edge's carries. He has 272 yards rushing & 82 yards receiving on 16 catches.

Somthings that you should consider. In our scoring system we get a point a catch. Jamal doesn't catch many balls, and Jamal had some decent matchups recently and didn't do anything. Coming into this week Edge was ranked as the 10th RB.

Yeah I was doing that shows you what a dope I'm

Stupid me I didn't know the catch= 1 point rule ........ Well in that case go for it . Because when Leinart is under pressure he (which he is going to be alot of time with AZ O-Line) he is going to look for his TE and RB..

But try to stay away from Brown .... get the other receiver .....

And since this is trade opinion thread ... I was propsed one and can't decide so a little help:

I give up
Chad Johnson
Reggie Bush
For
Chester Taylor
Terrell Owens

I didn't include that info in my original post, Its no big deal.

What does the rest of your roster look like and what is your scoring system? Is this a keeper league where you get to keep players from this year's roster?

If its not a keeper/dynsaty league and you have the depth, I lean towards doing it as I think that owens and Taylor are a slightly better combo right now than bush and johnson. The thing is that I think that Taylor is a little banged up, but I am not sure...

QB M. Bulger

WR C. Johnson

WR D. Bennett

WR K. Johnson

RB F. Taylor

RB C. Portis

TE C. Cooley

W/T D. Branch

W/R R. Bush

BN R. Grossman

BN R. McMichael

BN M. Hasselbeck

BN B. Engram

BN M. Morris

Don't think it's keeper . Taylor is banged up and he had 23 yards on 10 carries last week and he is playing the Lions a good defense

I'd stay away from Williamson. He appears to be fading from the Vikings gameplan. Brown has more upside as an emerging player, especially considering Stallworth's fragile hammies and the fact that McNabb likes to spread the ball around. Put it through quick before Brown explodes vs the Packers!!!!!!!!

I have Edge in my league and have been very disappointed so far, but I am a big believer in Buy Low, so I think you should go for it. I believe he'll catch even more balls as the season goes on and the offensive line continues to struggle.

i would do the trade. Jamal sucks and i bet Musa Smith starts eating into his carries. Edge hasn't been great, but still gets a ton of carries/catches and should be able to produce top 10-12 RB numbers, which Lewis won't.
