I may have to skip the late hockey game tonight for this. I may not be as knowledgeable about the sport as all you fucks, but I love me some MMA.

I figured it was about time
Looking forward to this card, I like both Serra and GSP but I think GSP is just unstoppable at this point. Looking forward to the Franklin/Lutter fight as well.

Excited to see Bisping at 185, I think it's a better fit for him.
I'm expecting GSP to win, but don't expect Serra to get walked over. The guy is very hard to stop, and his GNP defense is very good.

UNDERCARD HAS STARTED
JONATHAN GOULET VS. KUNIYOSHI HIRONAKA
ROUND 1 -- After stuffing an early takedown attempt, Goulet goes on the offensive and begins to work his stand-up game. Hironaka sneaks in a few counter-punches to slow the charge. After clinching up, Goulet lands some knees to the midsection of his opponent. Hironaka lands a knee of his own, but he's quickly taken to the ground. Goulet jockeys for position and is tied up for the most part. After getting back to his feet, Hironaka lands a big left hand that staggers Goulet. Hironaka takes the fight to the ground and tags his opponent with elbows and punches to close out the round. Hironaka takes the first round on MMAjunkie.com's scorecard, 10-9.
ROUND 2 -- Goulet appears to have regained his composure. The two fighters trade jabs before Goulet stuns Hironaka with a blow. Goulet closes the distance, fakes a takedown and then pins his opponent against the fence. A series of blows drops Hironaka, and the bout is stopped.
Jonathan Goulet def. Kuniyoshi Hironaka via TKO (punches) -- Round 2, 2:07
BRAD MORRIS VS. CAIN VELASQUEZ
ROUND 1 -- Velasquez sets the pace early with a series of punches. Morris has little to offer in return and is avoiding few punches. An overhand left from Velasquez drops Morris, who then absorbs an onslaught of punches and elbows. One blow causes his head to hit with a thud as it bounces off the canvas, and the ref warns him to fight back. Velasquez takes his opponent's back and continues effectively tagging Morris. After a quick scramble, Morris is able to escape, but as he tries to throw a punch of his own, he eats an uppercut then sends him crashing to the canvas. The ref jumps in to halt the bout before he loses consciousness.
Cain Valesquez def. Brad Morris via TKO (strikes) -- Round 1, 2:10

Thats a big win for Goulet. Hironaka has a name in Japan, so he could fight for DREAM or whoever. Goulet really needed this win if he wanted to stay in the UFC. I still think he woul be a better fit in the WEC, but congrats to him for winning, in Canada too.

RICH CLEMENTI VS. SAM STOUT
ROUND 1 -- Clementi scores the early takedown but can do little as Stout wiggles free. Clementi, though, drags him back to the mat and then takes Goulet's back. Stout keeps the blood flowing though by dipping his chin and then rolls over. Clementi quickly takes advantage of the mount position and unloads a series of combinations. Stout tries to tie him up, and when the opportunity arises, he backs out and escapes to his feet with minimal damage. Clementi thinks about shooting again, but Stout backs out of it. Stout lets his hands fly, but Clementi keeps his distance before shooting back in and scoring the takedown. Clementi works for a kimura then tries to straighten it out for an armbar, but returns to the mount position and uncorks some blows to end the round. It's all Clementi in the first, 10-9.
ROUND 2 -- Stout tentatively begins throwing punches, fearful of the takedown. However, Clementi begins throwing his own punches and pops his opponent with a right hand to the jaw. He then misses on a head kick. Stout shakes off the blow, and then begins working with his own combinations. A left hook to the body connects, and a few jabs create some distance. Clementi tries a lazy takedown attempt that Stout easily sidesteps. Clementi then lands a few punches before Stout shoots in. Clementi, though, locks in a guillotine, and it takes Stout some effort to escape. Clementi stalks him before the round ends. MMAjunkie.com gives it to Clementi, 10-9, for the submission attempt and damage.
ROUND 3 -- The crowd again comes alive to root on Stout as Clementi winks at his opponent to start the final frame. After a mutual nod, the two fighters take the center of the cage and trade punches befor Clementi explodes forward for the takedown. Clementi lands few punches before Stout rolls free and back to his feet. Stout begins to land some punches and knocks Clementi off balance with a right and a head kick. The pace slows as the crowd tries to spark some action. Stout lands a combination after sidestepping a takedown attempt. An overhand left from Stout partially connects as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com gives the third round to Stout, 10-9, but the fight goes to Clementi 29-28 on our card.
Rich Clementi def. Sam Stout via split decision (29-27, 28-29, 29-28)
ED HERMAN VS. DEMIAN MAIA
ROUND 1 -- Maia gets the early takedown, and he hands on as Herman muscles his way back to his feet. Maia tries to throw a knee while they're clinched but instead tries to drag his opponent to the mat. Herman reverses the position and lands in guard and shakes off a submission attempt. Maia scrambles and grabs a leg looking for a knee bar and then heel hook, but Herman pushes him off with his legs. Maia then takes the mount position and looks to rain down punches, though Herman pulls him close to his body to close the distance. Herman bucks him free and claims the dominant position as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com has it 10-9 for Maia for overall control.
ROUND 2 -- After faking a punch and then getting popped with a left hand, Maia swoops in for the takedown, but Herman expertly wrestles his way to the top position and works from in guard. He then delivers his patented elbow strikes and some short punches. Maia slowly but successfully uses his legs to crawl up Herman's body. As Herman attempts to throw a punch from above, Maia wraps over a leg and sinks in a triangle choke. Herman appears he may back out of it when he rolls over, but Maia now sits on top of his opponent and tightens up the hold as Herman turns blue. With little movement and Herman unresponsive, the referee steps and pulls Maia off an out-cold Herman.
Demian Maia def. Ed Herman via submission (triangle choke) -- Round 2, 2:27

ALAN BELCHER VS. JASON DAY
ROUND 1 -- After a touch of gloves, Belcher scores the early takedown. He drops an elbow from sidemount before trying to step over for full mount but is pulled into guard. Day uses his long limbs to tie up Belcher, who's now resting his head on his opponent's chest. Belcher's elbows miss the mark, and after a stalemate, the ref restarts the fighters. Day immediately goes on the offensive and pokes jabs through his opponent's guard and then tags Belcher with a series of combinations. Belcher is staggering around the cage and has no offensive, and the Canadian crowd jumps to its feet to root on the local fighter. The blows continue to land flush before the ref jumps in to save Belcher.
Jason Day def. Alan Belcher via TKO (strikes) -- Round 1, 3:58

JOE DOERKSEN VS. JASON MACDONALD
ROUND 1 -- The bad-blood match nearly ends early as MacDonald sinks in a deep guillotine. Doerksen remains patient as MacDonald torques the hold. Doerksen finally breaks free and gasps to catch his breath as the two fighters scramble on the ground. Doerksen climbs on top of his opponent and then secures a free arm and looks for a keylock. MacDonald escapes as Doerksen continually finds the favorable position. MacDonald escapes, though, and then shoves Doerksen backward and on his back. MacDonald tries a kneebar with little success, and the round soon ends. MMAjunkie.com has it 10-9 for MacDonald due to the late scramble.
ROUND 2 -- The two fighters take the center of the cage and trade blows before MacDonald clips Doerksen with a right that may have rocked him. After clinching up, the fighters lose balance and hit the mat, where MacDonald pins Doerksen on his back. MacDonald immediately delivers a ground-and-pound onslaught that betters Doerksen. With the fighter's head bouncing off the mat like it's being dribbled, the ref jump in to save Doerksen. MacDonald lands a few more blows, which causes a commotion.
Jason MacDonald def. Joe Doerksen via TKO (strikes) -- Round 2, 0:56
