Thiago Alves failed to make weight for his UFC 85 main event fight with Matt Hughes.
Alves weighed 174 pounds for the welterweight bout, three pounds over the 171-pound limit. The fight will now be contested at a catchweight of 174 pounds.
Today's weigh-ins took place at the 02 Arena in London, England -- the same venue that hosts Saturday's pay-per-view event.

I'm getting the feeling that there's some snake-bit shit going on with this PPV. Am I right on this? I usually drive to Philly (appx 2 hours out from home) to catch this, and I was planning on doing so, but if this is going to be a lame-for-UFC deal, I might just stay home and catch it at the local bar.

Since its not a title fight not a hell of a lot. Alves will have to surrender part of his $ to Hughes so they could raise the limit to 175. Alves was looking toward a title fight but Dana don't mess about when it come to guys no making the weight, it shows a lack of professionalism.

tvu time. does it air at 3pm 1st it's in england? this card is shit/ some good fights but the main event is eehhh. should have been on spike or even cbs
