I liked it pretty well. A lot of it was setting up what the show is, but it was very funny.

It sucks that it is a short season, but hopefully that just means all of the episodes will be as funny as the first.

Danny McBride was on NPR a few days ago talking about how HBO offered 12 shows but they only wanted to do 6 and he refused the offer of 12.

In an interview the actor that plays whats his names brother who was in Deadwood (Sal Star) said it was as raw as Deadwood. Which has to be bullshit.

Just watched the pilot episode, pretty damn hilarious. Lots of good lines, setting up to be a good series, hope the rest of the episodes this season are just as good. I think the show'll catch on and be great.

Show is hilarious. The end where the chick went flying off the jet ski was hilarious ... the preview for the next episode looks good too.

    HBO always has good shows.

    She had some fantastic tits.

I have to laugh when I see Will Farrell's character...he looks and seems to act exactly like an old school Ric Flair

From the start, this show is funny as shirt. I was a fan of Foot Fist Way and it's great to see it's all the same people from that movie making this show. It's going to be a good series.

I wouldn't count it out yet and at least the six episodes for this season are already completed.

I just had this conversation in a meeting today about why the pay cable channels aren't doing more sitcoms. The answer is that their business model is traditionally more reliant on selling the shows to foreign territories than network shows since they don't rely on advertising and since most comedies don't translate well, it's kind of hard to pull off. That being said, with this show coming from Will Ferrell, him appearing in it, and being more slapstick than high brow, I think it would work in at least a handful of other countries.

But there seems to be more sitcoms coming to cable, Starz has a new show about caterers from Rom Thomas the guy behind Veronica Mars, that stars Paul Rudd, that I've heard some really good buzz about. So maybe someone figured out how to make these shows more profitable.
