The Adventures of Jake Lamotta! What will he get into next?
Word on the street is it will feature Jake as a tugboat captain.
MGM is suing to stop the movie. As they should. This is an actual still from the movie
Fuck me. Couldn't they just call it "The Jake LaMotta Story" or something?
I'm guessing MGM owns the exclusive movie rights to the original Jake La Motta memoirs. So rewriting the same story and making it into a film isn't gonna fly, no matter what they call it.
It looks more like a still from a play or a Saturday Night Live sketch. That's looks awful and really low-rent.
In other news, there's a new judge dredd movie coming.
Everyones out of ideas out there in movie land.
Oh no! And the original was so beloved and memorable!
Exactly. Remakes have been going on forever. The Thing from 1980 was a remake and it's considered a classic. The original Dredd is a joke. It's a prefect candidate for a remake, as is Starship Troopers. Technically neither are remakes of the original movies. Dredd goes back to the comic, and Starship Troopers goes back to the book. Maybe "reboot" is the better word. I guess I don't mind reboots as much as remakes.
I would consider Dredd a better candidate for a remake because the original Starship Troopers is actually a good movie with effects that still hold up. The first Dredd was a Stallone vehicle co-starring Rob Schneider.
looks like 1920s fight club.
I didnt know Gervais was in this
When exploration of the Dark Continent ramps up, it'll be the corporations that name everything, the Sears-Roebuck Locomotive, Woolworth Forest, RKOvania.
Yes...he plays Gretchen, the Tranny with a heart of gold, and a mean left uppercut.
But Starship Troopers was nothing like the book and supposedly this will be much closer. In that case, they can both stand together, much like the Burton Batman and the Nolan Batman. You can still enjoy both...
I just wanted to put in a good word for the original Starship Troopers. Also, they said that Total Recall was going to be different from Total Recall and this just looks like Total Recall in Minority Reportland.
I still enjoy Starship Troopers. It's super campy but it isn't ashamed of it, and those propaganda scenes are brilliant. As for Total Recall, I'm willing to reserve judgment. Maybe they just play up minor references to the other movie in the trailer. I don't want to judge it based on the advertising. I save that for comedies.
ok, so it's not enough that he does these awful comedy's that ruin his image but now he has to shit all over one of his best known roles?
Who are you talking about? Gervais?
I can't tell if you really think it's Gervais or not, but nothing makes his past projects less funny, just as this piece of shit does nothing to the original Raging Bull, not to mention it's probably not getting made since MGM has to be offered the rights first to any other part of his memoirs, from my understanding.
i assumed Robert Deniro was in it.............
