Anybody here have Verizon FIOS for TV and internet? My landlady is switching the whole house over from Cablevision later this month and I was wondering what differences to expect.

I work for Verizon and tested it..... I havent been trained in it Yet. The company paid me for half a day to play games on it.... The shit FLIES. the TV doesnt have all the sports channels yet but they will soon once they take cable to court and win like Direct TV did. there is over 400 channels and shit and over 20 HD channels. If you want any info on it just ask.

I have had Verizon FIOS since September. It fucking rocks as far as internet goes. My township is finally getting on the stick so to speak in terms of letting them bring in TV service. I anxiously await it. It should be very, very soon.

Check out http://verizonfios.com/ for all you need to know.

Don't know about the TV side, but the net side gives you a connection that is probably faster than the sites you are visiting can get the infotmation to you.

But for $7,500.00 a year, you can get DirecTV Titanium. Think about it...unlimited porn that wont show up on the bill. That arguement alone might be worth $7K to some.

Every show. Every movie. Every sporting event. Everything.
With your TITANIUM membership, you'll receive everything DIRECTV has to offer and additional benefits designed precisely for you. Every movie, sporting event, concert, Pay Per View, adult program* and HD channel is yours.

I signed up for the internet service last month, and like Maul said...it fucking flies. For what I was paying Comcast for 6M down/384k up, I get 15M down/2M up. For hosting games on XBL, there's no comparison...

I'll give you a TV review come December..unfortunately, it won't be available until then.

That's $625 a month. Maybe for a fancy man like Anthony who doesn't ever leave his house except to do the show, it might be worth it. But I don't watch THAT MUCH television...

Of course, if you lived in a commune with 9 buddies, it wouldn't be a bad deal. And it would work since you can get up to ten receivers with the package - split up it's only $70/month per person...Still pricey, but about the same as cable with extras...:icon_mrgr

    Good point, good point.

The thing to do... is maybe make a deal with neighbors and bury some coax and split the bill 3 ways.

    Nice idea, Sinn...

From what I've read about this plans customer service is insane. Only 200 people a year can sign up to keep it exclusive and if your cable does go out, a tech will come out and blow you within the hour.

The HD TV Service is the thing that will sell me on Fios TV. That HD Dish is a pain in the ass.

my buddy has FiOS, I asked him if the picture pixelates when he's watching an action movie or something like that...his response, "It hasn't gone boxy once and I've had it for 4 months"

I wish they would do this where I am in CT

If you're getting the online service, you should know that the Actiontec router they provide sucks a fat uncircumcized cock. Be prepared to reset it at least once every couple of weeks, when your homepage is the only thing that will load properly. It also sometimes has a problem letting anything else through while Bittorrent is running.
