Crackheads are non-violent drug offenders in the same way that breaking and entering is a non-violent crime. Outside of a few examples, has there ever been a crackhead who didn't steal something to support their habit?

Non- violent drug users should be left the fuck alone! Does anyone even realize why this shit is illegal or just go with it?

Its been a long time coming. The sentencing guidelines for the possession of crack were complete bullshit. Thank you Len Bias. Release all non violent offenders. I'm with oandapartycock, this should apply to potheads as well.

If they're breaking laws to support their habit, they should be punished like anyone else would be for breaking laws. They're not entitled to steal from anyone

This. Aside from the occasional bag of Doritos or something off the Dolly Madison rack, what are potheads stealing to support their habit?

Meanwhile someone trying to get their fix for a prescription drug, goes into a drug store and kills 4 people.

I heard about this on the radio today and completely agree. It's a waste of taxpayers money and excessive to imprison someone for having a personal amount of crack or pot. Great point about the prescriptions too. I am wary of any prescription drug after having a bad experience with xanax. Most dummies like myself feel that rx drugs are benign and not dangerous. I no longer feel that way.
