This case was ridiculous. I watched the piece on HBO Real Sports about it.

It's really disgusting that it had to go all the way to the Georgia Supreme Court before this poor bastard could even get a hint of justice. Our system sucks ass.

All joking aside, if the girl weren't white and the guy black this would have never happened. Fucking hayseeds.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't they threaten the prosecutor in this case after he came out against the release) of having child porn charges looked into on him because he still had the video on his computer? I recall Jimmy bringing that up a month or two back.

(too lazy to google it)

This case is horrible. That said, I think there was some stupid Georgia law that gave him a 10 year min because it was oral. I think if he simply had vaginal sex with her there was not the same min.

yeah, he would have just gotten a year probabtion. if he was white he probably would have gotten a hand shake.

The prosecuter probably never had a hummer his whole life and was just jelous so he made sure to throw the book at him.

In fairness, I have never had a hummer. I was looking at the Jeep (now that it is four door) and the Toyota Cruiser, but not really the hummer.

I really don't care what kind of car he drives, but regardless of what he drives, he probably has never had a bj when driving.

It's about time. He should be able to sue the prosecutor for pain & suffering.

Fucking insane that he was even charged with anything.

The real question is whether he is going to be required to register as a sex offender.

He could have pled and gotten a lesser sentence (like the rest of the people in the case did) But he stood up for his rights because the plees included registering as a sex offender.

I can't believe our legal system is so fucked up.

On what basis? The prosecutor only applied the law. The problem is the law and order agenda. If anybody stood up against this law their opponents would have said "what, are you for sex offenders". The problem is the law.

They said, he doesn't have to register as a sex offender. I'm happy this young man, has been released. I just hope he is able to put his life back together and being in prison doesn't impact his future. This case was one of the ones, I refering to about southern prosecutors over the past couple of years. I think its time for all 50 states, to start taking a look at the laws they have on the books and either rewrite them or get rid of the ones that don't make sense and are terribly outdated.
